    Liverpool 3 Man City 1 (Jul 30 2022)

Great report Dave. Thank the Lord you are back. I hadn't realised how boring it was without you!

    Real Madrid 1 Liverpool 0 (May 28 2022)

Yes, they did a Big Sam on us didn't they? A completely unremarkable team that ground its way to a win. Shame, as we should have pissed on them. Anyway, thanks Dave. Couldn't do without your great match reports. Love the site, as I did with the fanzine in the old days. Heads up for the lads and all the supporters...onward and upward for next season.....

    Liverpool 3 Wolves 1 (May 22 2022)

Dave, I had us down for the league this season and we just missed out. Predict we will get no 20 next time round. Great report as usual. No 7 in Paris please you mighty boys! All best to everyone...

    Liverpool 2 Everton 0 (Apr 24 2022)

Great report Dave - really enjoyed it. I grew up own the 1960s and often went to watch Everton when the Reds were away. Those were the days of 'The School of Soccer Science' - and I have a bit of a soft spot for them - but, maybe it's really just nostalgia for my youth. But they are not that sort of club any more. Maybe I will live long enough to see the current bums (did I mean currant buns?) in the National League....

    Inter Milan 0 Liverpool 2 (Feb 16 2022)

Great report. Love the Vidal analysis..

    Liverpool 1 Aston Villa 0 (Dec 11 2021)

Top report thanks Dave. 10-0 v Newcastle - on the cards I'd say after seeing them at Leicester...

    AC Milan 1 Liverpool 2 (Dec 7 2021)

Nothing to add to that report Dave. Currently we are as good as any team in the world - and better than most.... As you said many times, lap it up while we can. The Wheel of Fortune will turn again some day...

    Everton 1 Liverpool 4 (Dec 1 2021)

Said it many times - best LFC team ever. Another sensational performance from a team currently at the top of its powers. And it doesn't seem to matter who we take off/bring on. Nothing changes; everyone performs at a high level. Klopp is a genius....and we are privileged to have him and the team he has built. After all, but for a simple twist of fate any of us could have been Evertonians.

    West Ham 3 Liverpool 2 (Nov 7 2021)

A bit OTT for my money Dave. Up to this season you only had to breathe on a GK for a foul to be given - their first goal was a bit more than that. Cresswell should have been off, but didn't even get a yellow (did he?). These things surely alter the whole dynamic. I agree that Bowen should have been brought down for goal 2 - we are not remotely cynical enough in those situations - and Allison didn't cover himself in glory for any of their goals I'd say. We were basically beaten by a team who got their tails up using the Big Sam approach. Disappointing, but expect us to bounce back...

    Manchester United 0 Liverpool 5 (Oct 24 2021)

Said it before, will say it gain....best team we have ever had....and best manager...

Are we, as a nation, becoming hysterical?

H.L.Mencken "The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the population alarmed-and hence clamorous to be led to safety-by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." The subject of our hysteria has been debated at length. It certainly seems to be characteristic of the Anlosphere right now...

    Watford 0 Liverpool 5 (Oct 16 2021)

Mind-bogglingly brilliant. You won't see many better performances from any team anywhere than that one....

    Norwich City 0 Liverpool 3 (Aug 14 2021)

My only reservation about our title chances is the African Nations thing...it's in January isn't it?

Euro 2020 Round Up (Semi Finals)

Spot on Dave... Yep - it’s got to be an Italy win - please. Ingerlund have been in the easier part of the draw while all the better teams have been knocking each other out in the other half plus all their games bar one have been at home...... Please God this stitch up stops on Sunday..

Euro 2020 Round Up (Quarter Finals)

Yep - forza Azzuri - let’s give the reverend Southgate and his Ingerlund deadbeats a hammering on Sunday..

    Liverpool 1 Newcastle 1 (Apr 24 2021)

Nothing to add really Dave. Another game we should have won by a hatful, so that when the opposition do score it would be a case of "no clean sheet this week then..." 4-1 instead of 4-0. The whole world has gone mad and we have been eaten by it...
  17. Yes, FSG have messed up on this - but remember these are the owners that brought in Klopp, set up an excellent player recruitment scheme, redeveloped the stadium and financed a fancy new training complex. Recall the state we were in before they came. My own impression is that on the whole they have tried to do the best for the club - by their own lights . There always seems to be some 'anti-Yank' sentiment just below the surface in the fan base. Maybe the legacy of Gillett and Hicks. The owners of the Spanish and Italian clubs are not Yanks are they. Nor are the owners of City and Chelsea....... If they are forced to sell up, who do we think will take their place? Some Chinese consortium...

    Liverpool 0 Real Madrid 0 (Apr 14 2021)

Last 3-4 paragraphs sum up how most of us are feeling Dave, but I am still optimistic that this team will compete again next year - assuming fans are back, that is.
  19. fredo49

    Real Madrid 3 Liverpool 1 (Apr 6 2021)

Can't disagree with any of that Dave. The team looked like it had been on the ale. In some other games we lost we played pretty well really, but this was dreadful. Worst performance of the season for my money.
  20. fredo49

    Liverpool 0 Chelsea 1 (Mar 4 2021)

Utterly depressing and predictable. God knows where we go from here...
  21. fredo49

    Leicester City 3 Liverpool 1 (Feb 13 2021)

Dave you summed it up again, mate. We have been shafted from all angles this season and I am coming to the end of the line with it. The whole style of TV presentation and the ludicrous commentaries is a massive wind up. Was there anyone on that BT panel yesterday who was not rooting for a Leicester win? We were miles better than them and should have been well clear in terms of goals.Their equaliser was a disgrace - no wonder heads dropped after we had put in so much work to get the lead against another bunch of bus parkers...
  22. fredo49

    Liverpool 0 Brighton 1 (Feb 3 2021)

Usual spot on report Dave. Very disappointing and difficult not to feel hard done by in many ways over the season so far. I don't want to get drawn into another sort of debate, but unless there is some sort of sea change in the way we are dealing with and thinking about 'the virus', I'm not sure we will ever get fans back into stadiums in the 'normal' way - do you?
  23. fredo49

    Fulham 1 Liverpool 1 (Dec 13 2020)

"we can’t win away from home anymore" - yeah, but we were robbed of away wins agains Everton and Brighton by shit VAR decisions. We should be 4 points better off than we are now... You've said it all about VAR and the inconsistencies...
  24. Dave and others, You may be right about us slipping back, but there is always 'worry' near the surface, particularly during close season. We had similar when Couthino left -'Why aren't we buying X, Y, or Z etc?' I can't see that the team are 'ageing'; we have a couple in the 'approaching 30' category and Milner is 34. The rest aren't 'ageing' are they? I don't think I am suffering from 'blind faith', but basically I trust the manager's judgement. He has gotten more or less everything right so far...let's wait and see..
  25. fredo49

    Liverpool 2 Atletico Madrid 3 (Mar 11 2020)

Well, I calmed down today as the day went on, but the way we lost was a fucking sickener. I was confident if we’d gotten through this one we could go all the way again. As usual Dave, you cover all the bases and I’m taking heart from your point of view at the end - yep, we’ll be back - and we owe these scummers as well as Napoli...
