Just watching the Queen leave Scotland and even as a republican it was quite touching. I know I take the piss out of the pomp and grandeur but the whole logistical operation since she died has imo shown again what Britain can do. Its been top class again, like clockwork. We can be a well oiled machine. My argument is why can't we take back our assets and demand a similar amount of professional service for ourselves? From our Railway service to all our other assets? The Queen wouldn't have let a private tender anywhere near her final arrangements, so why should we her subjects except a privatised second rate service throughout our everyday lives?
