It's about time we started hearing about some alternatives to the Armenian lad. Surely we'd have had a plan B. There doesn't seem to be anything real floating about other then Llori.

We're miles off competing for the title. I'm sure Suarez didn't grow up dreaming about clinching fourth spot. I just don't think being in the champions league alone will be enough to keep a player of his quality. Just look at the players Arsenal have lost down the years.

Suarez is far too good a player to be finishing fourth every year with Arsenal, challenging for fuck all. When he goes it should be to a team that'll be up there competing for titles every year. If he gives us one more season, I'll be delighted with it. With any luck he leaves on a high with us back in the top four again.

He's crying about the fixture list now. Saying he's not convinced that that's the way the balls came out of the hat! I don't think they stand a chance of challenging Chelsea and City under Moyes but we'd do well to remember he's finished above us twice in a row with an inferior team so it's not like we're going to jump over the mancs just cause he's there. He's done a better job then both Kenny and Brendan the last two years. I think it's great they've not appointed someone like Mourinho but they're still going to be the top 3/top 4 with ease. Of course this is failure to them, so great but I'll feel like laughing at him and the mancs when we've our own house in order and not when we're still looking up at them. It's bitter and blueshite stuff.

So who do we go for now the Armenian lad is bound for Germany? I do hope we'll see a player signed who'll almost definitely improve the first team. If it wasn't all smoke & mirrors or media bullshit, then we should have around 20 million to go for a high quality player. After all we've spent nothing net this window so far. We've done well to improve the squad imo, but need to add real quality.

If we don't manage to get this guy, who's the other marquee goal scoring mids around Europe we could go for? I know there's Erikson but he's more a creator in the Coutinho mould apparently.

I've not seen enough of Mignolet to be sure about him, but since Rafa left I've seen more then enough of Pepe. I think keepers can stagnate and go off the boil if sitting on the bench for too long, so I'd go with the Simon. He's younger, cost a lot of money and more likely to be here in a few seasons time.

Well we've only really had Shelvey and Carra leave and the latter was forced. We've brought four in so squad improvement makes some sort of sense. I don't expect Alberto to be making much of an impact next season tbh.

My positivity comes from the squad clearly being improved, and most of all the pursuit of the Armenian. Hopefully if we can't get him in we've other similar 'marquee' players lined up. There's at least 20 million to be spent and we're not going to be shy of putting down on one player. Obviously we need another centre back too but this is probably being put on hold till Skrtel or Coates sale. Cover for Enrique would be nice but Rome wasn't built in a day. We can't solve everything in one window. The lack of any solid defensive midfielder links is my only gripe. One injury or failure to return to form for Lucas would jeopardise what could be a very promising season. Things just look a lot better then have the last three summers.

No way do we not need another defensive midfielder. The lack of cover for Lucas has already played a big part in ruining two seasons. I'm really just left shaking my head in disbelief that we'll have two good goalkeepers instead of cover for Lucas. We've not even seen Lucas play consistently well since the start of Kenny's fatal last season. So you could argue on an upgrade. I know everyone wants him to get fit and back to his best but we shouldn't be pinning all our hopes on him doing so. On the remainder of the window. If we got two really good players in those positions I'd be over the moon. Just that lingering fear about Lucas would be the only nagging doubt that'd stop us making a good shot at a top four spot this season imo. Here's hoping we hit the ground running and the Lucas of old is an ever present.

I'm really going to be scratching my head if we start the season with two good goalkeepers and one defensive midfielder. Lucas hasn't even performed consistently well for nearly two years. I know this is down to injury but we've gambled on him being fit two seasons now and it's backfired. Surely Brendan won't try it again? I'm hoping on Reina going and a defensive midfielder coming in tbh. One that's better then anything we've seen from Lucas since his injury's.

Been following this transfer far too closely considering how slowly it's moving. I just hope if we can't pull it off we have another player/s well scouted and of similar quality. A marquee signing would be a great statement of intent and a real confidence boost ahead of the new season. Bring this guy in and keep Luis or replace adequately and we'll be in the running for top four next season. Something we've not even gave ourselves a chance of doing for a number of years.

First post so bare with me. Since the season ended and all this Suarez to Madrid stuff started. I'd have been of the mind to tell Madrid to fuck off. He's class and he's ours. We won't be able to sign a player of his quality no matter how much money we get. Lately tho, I've been thinking. If we get this Armenian train robber in, funds might not be the best after that. But with Suarez sold we could add a CB for £10 million, a DM like that Celtic guy, and a forward of real quality, not Suarez class but quality none the less. Soldado maybe? With something like that done we could well be a better team next year. That's not to say we wouldn't miss his ability to win points out of nowhere. Nah fuck it I love him. He's world class, mental and all ours!
