it was pretty good between January - April 14...
and half decent between January- mid March 2015
not too bad this season either...4 out of 6 matches we've played ok.
admittedly you would expect a settled playing pattern and team in his 4th season but if the 2nd half of 13-14 is a taster of what he can do, I'm prepared to give him more than 6 games..
this "down to Suarez" revisionism bollocks doesn't reflect the reality that we actually won more points that season without him that season than with him
What, you mean all FIVE games that he missed that season? What about the 33 he took part in, in which he scored 31 times, made 14 assists and was involved in almost every other goal that we scored?

FSG have got to be out of their fucking minds if this stuff about Mazzarri is true. Klopp or Ancelotti have got to be our targets. Not a failure from Serie A.
Ha this is weird. This is a comment I made in another thread, looks like it caused a glitch and it's being posted (inadvertently?) by other posters in random threads. What's a 12 year old thread about Boumsong got to do with Mazzarri? Strange forum behviour!

Um, what is going on with this quote??? I posted this comment in another thread and I've seen it copied verbatim in other threads by random posters. It did double post on me, has it glitched the forum? Weird.

I doubt either Ancelotti or Klopp would join us knowing the imbeciles in the "transfer committee" decide which players to sign.
-
They should drop it to league winners only and give everyone else football back.
Champions League was brilliant in it's early days but it's been on rails for years.
Agreed but it'll never happen. If UEFA ever contemplated that the clubs will simply form the European Super League they've threatened UEFA with in the past which will make the European Cup redundant.

I was just thinking about this and I honestly now think things were better under Roy. Things were pretty shite under Hodgson but he didn't spend close to £300M like Rodgers has done. And Hodgson had the worst bosses/club owners in the history of football to contend with. He's still a prick and a shit manager but given the circumstances I'd dare say he was a better manager than Brendan is currently proving to be.
-
He's going to get sucked in the morning, the jammy twat. Brendan will be reveling in victory sex to celebrate beating mighty Carlisle, at home on pens.
-
Is there extra time in this? Or replay?

FFS....
Firminio off injured too. Great use of £29M he's been so far.

Ok have to admit, the title did make me laugh. Not a lot, but a little. Needless to say, if Ancelotti is interested then FSG need to be all over him.
-
No way would Germany select him if he didn't have the required ability. Playing for the world champions would do him the world of good and he could become some player under the next manager.
-
This team looks like a defensive horror show waiting to happen. I'd be amazed if we don't concede a minimum of 2 goals here.

It's good that we're all open about Rodgers shite spending over the years after having to hold our peace for so long. Sturridge and Coutinho remain Rodgers' only real successes in the transfer market. Jury is out on the signings made this season, and Can and Mignolet may yet come good, but the rest of the players Rodgers have signed have, by and large, been failures.
Markovic, Lovren, Lallana, Sakho, Balotelli, Alberto, Aspas, Borini, Allen, Ilori, and on and on...
-
Looks like a nasty one for Shaw. He'll be out for a long while.
But happy to see the mancs lose. Both mancs, that is.

That's what really worries. Besides that, this is a very low energy squad - where's the running?
Milner and Henderson ought to provide plenty of energy in midfield.

Brendan would be better off going back to a possession-based game then whatever he is trying to implement now. At least we had a few good performances in his 1st season when we played keep-ball all of the time. Right now I can't see us beating Norwich 5-0, or 6-0 away to Newcastle, 5-0 vs Swansea etc. like we did in his first season.
-
Klopp isn't my first choice. Would prefer Ancellotti if he's interested, or wait for Rafa in the summer when he gets fired by Real for not winning the quadruple in Spain. But right now I'll take Klopp in a heartbeat if it means Rodgers going. Come on FSG, do the sensible thing.
-
We paid too much for him, absolutely. But we are not even remotely getting the best out of him. Even Timmy Sherwood was able to use him properly, Rodgers can't even manage that much. Benteke will come good once Sturridge is back and playing alongside him and more importantly, when we get rid off Brendan and bring in a manager who knows how to use him effectively.
-
The performances are just so dire. Only that one half against Arsenal this season was acceptable, and I'd say that was as much down to Arsenal playing appallingly than us playing well. And the 2nd half showed our true colours in that game. Watching this Liverpool team is depressing. At least Chelsea fans were able to celebrate winning a title last season despite watching boring, life-sapping football served up by their team each week.

If anyone mentions that stupid fucking cliche about playing poorly but winning is a sign of a good team, I will shoot them. We played terrible in our first 2 games but won them. We played badly in the subsequent 3 games and lost 2 and narrowly escaped defeat in the other one. We're playing shit because we are shit, not because we're potentially a good team.
This is all down to Rodgers. Last season was down to him and we have carried on from where we left off from last season. Rodgers is not able to turn this around. We will keep seeing these terrible performances throughout the season and we'll get wins because of the quality of certain individuals we have which the 'lesser' teams can't afford to buy. But that's not enough, not when we've spent the money we have. Even fucking Pardew is light years ahead of Rodgers. Lots of teams are playing much better than we are, teams who have inferior players so it's clear that the manager is not up to it, he's out of his depth and should accept this and do the honourable thing by resigning.

Rodgers needs the brilliance of individuals to save his skin. He'll be praying Sturridge and Coutinho remain fit.
