  1. Re: Salah tap-ins - I think Steve Coppell scored all his goals inside the six-yard box.
  2. Having seen Robson-Kanu's straight red and Walker's second yellow tonight - how was Benteke still on the pitch to miss that chance in the second half?
  3. You know, it’s not really fashionable to say this, but Jamie Vardy is fucking brilliant. He’s got great striker’s instincts, he can finish, he runs like an Olympic sprinter, he’s good in the air, sharp as fuck and never stops running. I feel like this gets lost on a lot of people because he’s such a little scrote and has a weasel-like face, but if you can get past that (and I realise it's not easy) he’s ace and I like watching him. I know it’s a cliché but if he was South American everyone would buzz off him. True - but he also helped to get Ranieri the sack - scrote-weasel!
  4. Fully agree with point 2 about the pens. If Ward had just turned around and stood still he'd have saved at least one pen, whereas trying to ape Forster was almost embarrassing.
  5. The jury must be considered to be out on Lallana's hair until we see Dave's Mum's view on it!
  6. I said to Dave before the game that if we had Suarez in this team we'd have won the league. Or Fowler or Owen.
  7. Sturridge's movement didn't have to be all that clever to pose a bigger threat than Origi. Origi looked like he'd studied Lukaku's game last week. Perhaps it was too warm for him. Big win, and loved the way Klopp gave everyone a hug at the end.
  8. It still wasn't the worst game against Wolves that I've been to: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/9308904.stm And that night was colder than Swansea the other week.
  9. Great report, Dave. I was with you before the game - why is it that games at OT always make me fear the worst? The Everton result beforehand didn't help - sun shining on the underdog's arse day. As for a free dig I agree with all suggestions so far and I could add Nasri to the list, but I'm still reserving mine for snidey Evra.
  10. I think that Lallana only wears them to deflect attention from his dodgy haircut. Perhaps we should get Dave's Mum's view on this?
  11. Karius' goal kick was the worst set piece seen at Anfield since that corner by La Liga's player of the month. DId anyone else have visions of "David Moyes - Tactical Genius" headlines after 74 minutes?
  12. Great round up, Dave - cheered me up on a grey afternoon. One thing you didn't mention was how all the Bournemouth defenders were getting bounced around by Big Vic all afternoon, but when there's a slight touch in the box Big Vic goes all Drogba and flops.
  13. Great report, Dave. Almost flowed as well as the action on the pitch. The movement was excellent and the Watford defence/midfield was being moved all the time which then created the gaps for the front four to exploit. One other interesting thing for me was the contest between the two No 7s, no quarter asked or given, no mardy rolling around when tackled just good old fashioned football. Milner clearly came out on top as there was more space created for him going forward - especially in the second half, but Amrabat kept battling and got some reward when he rolled Milner in the move that set up Watford's goal.
  14. Good round up Dave, but you need to include a date on the "Weekend Watch" as it wasn't until the second article that I realised it was last weeks! I suppose the "will Moyes win his first game?" will be running every week until Fat Sam replaces him.
  15. I think that Klopp was correct to play a strong team. Burton have just won promotion from League 1 as runners-up having been League 2 Champions the season before and as such are a bit of unknown quantity at Championship level. Getting the two early goals certainly helped and keeping a clean sheet can only be good for the defence's confidence.
  16. One non-shock is that Fellaini is as much a square thug in a round hole for Belgium as he is for 'nited.
  17. What was Bale thinking of when he passed to Ramsey - he only had Skrtel in front of him.
  18. As well as giving "wee Joe" a rest I thought Klopp took him off early so that he could get the deserved round of applause that his MOM performance had earned.
  19. I thought that Lallana played well when he came on and looked a threat around the edge of the box which helped create space for others. I also thought that the referee had a good game, despite booking Milner early he kept his cards in his pocket until they were needed and helped to keep the game flowing.
  20. Good well-balanced report on a dire performance. I spent the whole first half trying to work out what the midfield was supposed to be doing (other than giving the ball away). It was more unbalanced than a Scotsman at Hogmany. (loved the women playing pool analogy).
