  1. Brighton and Palace met at Selhurst Park in a game that for some reason is the biggest grudge match either side has. These teams hate each other. Not sure why, something about Gus Poyet having a shit on a dressing room floor or something. It's a Seagulls - Eagles thing and it dates back to late 70s early 80s - so go figure!
  2. What Lallana brings that nobody else (other than Ox) does, is that ability to run beyond the forwards and drag defenders out of position. He’s got great feet in and around the box too, but the biggest thing he does is ‘gegenpress’ the absolute fuck out of people. That’s why Klopp has always loved him. Hell, that’s one of the reasons I loved him until the injuries completely ruined him. Damn right he does!! And he's way better if he starts as he can't seem to pick up the pace if he joins the game part way through. Great report as well - I'd love to see what Mariner actually put in his report for Alisson's booking as he was booked before he even opened his mouth - so it can't have been dissent, intended dissent, maybe??
  3. Good report, Dave. I suppose a wet windy Wednesday @ Burnley is as close as we can get to a wet Tuesday at Stoke/WBA/Bolton (or anyone else managed by Pulis or Allardyce) these days - so it was a good solid performance to come from behind.
  4. It doesn't help that Shaqiri is the only midfielder that gets beyond the forwards.
  5. Repped for the mirror story :-) Re: Wolves kit perhaps you've got a better TV picture now you've moved
  6. Do you remember when the offside law was more straightforward to undertstand?
  7. But you have to remember that this is the same lino who did not think it was a Cardiff pass back to the keeper in the 1st half!
  8. Just loved the Jimmy Hill story - I remember him pulling that stroke, but forgot that it was Sunderland that went down.
  9. From the BBC post Spurs round up: Were referee Michael Oliver and his officials right? Here is the guidance from the Premier League Match Centre: Sadio Mane is in an offside position as James Milner crosses the ball into the penalty area. The ball deflects off Firmino and Toby Alderweireld into the net. Mane, still in an offside position, clearly attempts to play the ball and impacts the goalkeeper’s decision making and ability to make a save. Just saying........
  10. Good spot - Dave will predictably blame it on predictive text (or just re-write it)
  11. Ron who sat behind me in the olde Main Stand used to have a go at Heskey in the warm up!
  12. Hunt was so good a player he managed to keep Jimmy Greaves out of the World Cup winning team.
  13. And arguably became a better player after he left - European Footballer of the year, England captain in Euros & World Cup
  14. I see that Dejan's shove made Harry roll at least twice - so I guess that Neymar would have ended up in the back the net if hit the same way.
  15. Especially, in the second half when England went into full "Don't Panic" mode and basically played with a flat back five cutting out the options of even a square pass for Henderson.
  16. "Maybe it’s just me, it could be that I’m spoiled by watching the Reds. Maybe these games are alright and only seem dull because of how entertaining our games are?" A lot of the early games were dull but games 2 & 3 have been livelier in general. The VAR delays don't help - you can nip out of the room, get a beer from the fridge and neck some of it before you find out whether there's been a goal or a penalty - or not. And all that VAR time doesn't seem to get added on...........
  17. Never had Dave down as a secret Guardian reporter: https://www.theguardian.com/football/shortcuts/2018/jun/18/eni-aluko-alex-scott-stars-world-cup-commentary
  18. Oh I forgot - with that late run Ramos has pipped Dele Alli in the Ballon D'or Twat of the Year award.
  19. I'm surprised that there hasn't been more made in the meeja of Ramos' elbow to Karius' head. I know it wasn't properly shown on Live TV - too busy re-running the replay of Isco's shank that hit the bar, but I would have thought that more would have been made of it afterwards.
  20. "I keep hearing about this Sancho kid who left City for Dortmund, and Reece Oxford who went to Gladbach on loan for the season. “Oh look at them getting first team football”. They started eleven games between them. ELEVEN! They’d have probably got more starts if they’d stayed put. This whole thing reeks of agents lining their pockets by giving the kids bad advice." You missed out Ademola Lookman at Leipzig. Only been there since January, 5 goals in 11 appearances and several assists too. He turned down a loan to Derby to go there. Punch Line: Fat Sam loaned him out from Everton - so there's no way he would have got more starts!!
  21. Dele Alli is the Ballon D'Or Twat winner for these photos alone: http://www.boohooplc.com/media/image-gallery/boohooman-campaign-2.aspx
