  1. I always thought that Roy would be killed off by a harsh perception rather than reality. But for him to come out and say that it would be a 'real coup' if we were to beat United tomorrow, I'm afraid, underlines his thinking. I thought it was harsh to label a manager as someone who thinks small but he's done it again. The media people at Liverpool must be tearing their hair out - they took him out of the firing line and still he managed an own goal in their in-house interview. He should be experienced enough to know you can't temper expectations at Liverpool. He really isn't doing himself any favours is he?
  2. Don't think I would have posted that my friend. For me, getting to the Europa tin pot cup final wouldn't be a great achievement for any Premier League manager. He enjoyed huge slices of luck during his run in that competition while his domestic results last season were very poor.
  3. But, if Dalglish doesn't get the job this time and stays on at the club, will there be chants three or four months again into the new man's tenure? I always thought we were above all that. I looked at our supporters as a beacon in this murky world. I would never chant for another manager. Whatever the situation, it's about us all working together. It's about sticking together. Surely we give the manager a season at the very least?
  4. I know we're in the world of the knee-jerk and managers are first in line but has anyone been watching these players lately? There is only one player in red - namely the skipper - who actually takes any responsibility in the game. People like Glen Johnson, Lucas, Maxi, Kuyt and yes Torres moan, complain and show the type of attitute which - for the rest of us - would see us getting the sack from our jobs. Now, I'm not a massive fan of Roy but he has hardly had a chance with these bunch of players. Like Carragher said in the summer, if they don't want to be here, then no problem. Get rid. You look at Wolves the other night. They, technically, are a poor side but, at Anfield and at Molineux this week, they worked so hard for the shirt. They are an honest bunch. I wish the same could be said about our lot. They are the ones who should be feeling the heat. I'm sick of these millionaires running around, feeling like they are untouchable. We need some honesty back on the pitch.
  5. The reason people are talking about Owen Coyle is that he has put his stamp on a team everywhere he has been. Forget the statistical analysis of either Burnley or Bolton (he is working in an extremely restrictive market) and look at what he has done. He took Burnley into the top flight, which is pretty incredible if you look at their resources. Then, he has transformed Bolton's playing style which, again, is impressive. I thought he might struggle to change the playing ethos there but, bit by bit, he has turned them around and given players like Jack Wilshere and now Stuart Holden a platform to play. The theory that 'he's never managed a big team' would have ruled Bill Shankly out of a job in 1959. But, in my opinion, the guy has vision, energy, enthusiam and a no fear attitute which we desperately need at the moment. I don't think, for example, he would describe the possibility of winning at Old Trafford as a 'real coup'.
  6. Just get the feeling that we need an injection of youth, of someone without any fear. Someone who would conquer the bloody world!
  7. Owen Coyle could be the new Shanks. Positive, energetic, ambitious, forward-thinking (plus a non-drinking Scotsman). He's done a good job wherever he's been and Celtic were desperate for him last year. I just think we need to snap him up before some other 'big' club does.
