The last seasons have proved that we have very little quality cover behind our two main CBs. The (not surprising) injury of Konate further pushes the importance of signing a CB this window. If that's not done then the leadership of the club is not doing their job, plain and simple. And if they try the "there are no players on the same level or better than the CBs we have" they can fuck right off.

Well the selling clubs might think it's in their best interest to wait till the last week when the interested clubs are desperate and need to go ahead with the buy. All kinds of reasons why a signing is dragging on and happening only at the end of a window. A hard deadline leads to things happening.

Happy Friday guys.

Two games in and we're down to three CBs. One good, two less so. No idea how we keep breaking our players but not having proper quality cover will kill us this season.

My work week's over.

If we need to we need to.

What are you saying Stig?

Cheers.

With one week left of the window I think we can say that a lot will happen in the next few days. We are now at the time in which both buying and selling clubs have to decide on who to go for and who to sell. The deadline is near. Will be an interesting week.

Kinda hoping it's true. Chelsea would have to pay up and we'd get someone that fits us better.

Indykaila: "Chelsea in the last few hours have made enquires on Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez. We understand #lfc are very relaxed about the situation. #cfc will need to submit attractive bid for Liverpool to start talks. The news will break in the national media soon."

A positive if Salah leaves - we can get Szobo on the pens.
-
I'd be open to selling Salah but we'd need a replacement ready (and signed) before letting him go.
-
Replacement researched, contacted, briefed, 5 low ball bids then a final winning bid, in 1 week? Hah. Give us a couple years and we'll think about it.

David Lynch, writing a column for Liverpool.no, states that today's Pearce article "LFC will not sign another 6" does not mean we are not after players like Doucoure, as he can do more than just be a 6. https://www.liverpool.no/kommentar/2023/8/at-jakten-paa-en-defensiv-midtbanespiller-er-over-utelukker-ikke-doucoure-eller-gravenberch/auth.html

Extra money yes please. I like sell-on clauses.
-
Yes there is. Hincapie being one. Schuurs being another. And Arthur Theate.
-
Probably just his agent trying something. Doesn't mean we (or City) are interested in this.
-
Gravenberch can only be a punt right? It's quite clear Bayern might not let him go this summer. 10 more days and the window shuts. Thus Gravenberch can't be the only nr 8 we're working on. If we get him fine if not we already have bought someone else. Hopefully.

Diaz is not too bad mate.
-
Unless he's injured that quite funny. Welcome to Chelsea.
-
The only reason we have not been linked to Diaby is that we have bigger fish to fry with midfield being the main focus this summer.

Good Ebening doing a great job at Villa. Good football being played, great signings this summer.
