Cup Semi Final 77, Everton at Maine Rd and the infamous 'ifithadn'tbeenfor clivethomas' game. Dad gets tickets from a mate on the Friday night slap bang in the middle of the Everton End. We were surrounded by 1000s of them. I cheered our goals, wore my scarf and generally behaved as if I was in our end. Not a cross word, glare or moment of danger. Everybody around us was friendly, we all shared our sweets and joked together and would have expected nothing else. At the end, the woman sitting behind me gave me a big hug (they were massive n I was only 15 so dead impressed) and it was smiles n 'see you at the replay' all round. Times have changed.
