    Rubbish. I know you're enjoying sticking the knife in because of who Jamie represents on here, but in his prime he marshalled some of the best players in the world and then spat them out.

    Nah. People get misty eyed over Sami's last few season's, where he was immense, but he could hoof and get caught out with the best of them. I don't see why Jamie couldn't assume that 4th choice role and be just as effective, but we don't have the depth like we did when Sami was eased out.

    The difference with Sami was he was eased out and given plenty of rest to regroup and sort out his issues, which revitalised his game. Jamie is in the side week-in-week-out without fail and it's caught up with him.

    How so? I understand the issues with Jamie, but I'm not sure why Skrtel is suddenly an automatic choice alongside Agger? I'd take Jamie over him now, poor form or not. He's vastly overrated.

    He needs resting. The problem is Skrtel is dodgy as fuck and Agger can't be relied on to stay fit, so Jamie feels he has to give that much extra, but he can't at his age.

    So suddenly it's the players that aren't good enough, despite the defensive records during Benitez's time here? Skrtel is supposed to be a top international defender, and while Jamie's career is coming to a close he's still a vastly experienced player. Are you going to bring up the money excuse after every sloppy defensive display this season?

    What's that supposed to mean? Jamie is on his way out, it's clear as day. To deny it is not what this club is all about. There should be no sentiment involved, if your time is up it's up, thanks and good luck.

    Skrtel is worse than Carragher. At least Jamie has age as an excuse. For a supposed big tough lad he's scared of attacking the ball.

    Erm, we've consistently had one of the best defences around under Benitez. You can't suddenly start saying it's due to money because previously class defenders are suddenly defending like school kids in a flawed system.

    The goals against column is a worry though. I suppose we'll naturally tighten up as the defence gets settled, but we really need to sort out this marking at set pieces. We just never seem to learn from our mistakes. Any other team would have had two men on the post after conceding that header, yet we stick to the pre determined set up.

    Babel was shocking other than his cross. He's a wimp. Can't believe people aren't giving Lucas credit where it's due. He ran the midfield today - stuck his foot in and kept us ticking over all game.
