  1. 2 champions league finals, given a stage to break into his own national team, yes he has every reason to have a sulk about trying to be sold, but he did want to go last summer aswell. To then still be sulking even though he has been played in nearly every game he has been fit and had one of his best seasons, if he still holds a grudge or wants to sulk then he can go. he hasn't said he doesn't want to play for benitez, he has stated he wants to play for Real Madrid. If he wanted out so bad he wouldl't have named the club he wants to go to. i assumed that after the season the squad and club have had, that all our players would be looking forward to the fight next season.
  2. have you ever seen The S*n advertised in the Times? its "sister paper" is The Sunday Times
  3. Xabi is utter, utter quality. He was our best player last season, I'm fucking gutted, Alonso is world class, when he plays well, we play well. Big loss that but anyone who doesnt want to be here can fucking do one
  4. most reliable source for all theings LFC Tony barrett
  5. LOVE HIM AS A PLAYER, ABSOLUTE QUALITY, BUT HES SAID HE NO LONGER WANTS TO PLAY FOR LIVERPOOL, AND WANTS TO PLAY FRO REAL MADRID. I'D RATHER SEE SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO BE HERE, EVERYTIME I LOG ON THE BOARD.
  6. is there any chance you can take his picture off the top of the board, see as though he has publically stated he no longer wishes to play for the club? Maybe with Dalglish coming back for the new season a picture of him could go up.
  7. Blood Red: Spirit of Shankly have made huge strides Jul 11 2009 by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo Add a comment Recommend SPIRIT of Shankly is holding a mass meeting at Zeligs in Liverpool One today and the huge strides the fans group has made since its formation 18 months ago is likely to be reflected in the turnout. There have been so many high points for SOS during the last year and a half and everyone involved should be proud of their achievements. The campaign to win justice for Michael Shields has been supported vigorously, the intentions of Liverpool co-owner George Gillett have been challenged in person, local and national politicians have engaged with the group and enormous pressure has been brought to bear on club officials and travel companies to win a fair deal for match-going fans. When the media asks RBS for guidance regarding Liverpool’s finances it rarely gets it. But not only did SOS receive a response from RBS, it actually got a detailed statement from the bank’s public affairs head Roger Lowry who took the fans group so seriously he felt the need to give a full explanation of RBS’s relationship with Liverpool FC. A telling moment for SOS as it provided the most vivid illustration yet of how far it has come since it was formed in the back room of the Sandon pub in January 2008. meeting starts at 1pm All are welcome
  8. the fact also that he never had a white t-shirt and they had to go and get him one. just more evidence of the fuck up that is the Bulgarian judicial system
  9. Its a sad state of affairs when the only daily paper printed in liverpool is The S*n :(
  10. Another nail in the coffin for the Oldham/Everton Echo Just hope Dave "cut & paste" Prentice gets kept well away from the liverpool stuff.
  11. No its not, i could name about 6 funerals where it has been played and sang by the family all together, arms around each other in a show of solidarity. fuck all to do with the team, but about people being their for each other. Look up the clips of the FA Cup fianl 1989, you will hear a rendition of YNWA which chills you to the bone and has you either in or close to tears sang by a choirboy, because while it is being sang all you think about are the victims of the disaster. YNWA is far, far more than a rallying cry to the team.
  12. Don't want to take this thread off topic, but there is a SOS mass meeting this Saturday. 1pm at Zeligs in liverpool 1. It would be a great oppertunity for you or others to raise the points of the discussion you think is still needed, alternatively you can contact admin@spiritofshankly.com Michael Shields father is expected at the meeting, to give an update about the campaign to those attending. All are welcome
  13. Following yesterdays shock news from Jack Straw that he will not be granting a pardon to innocent Liverpool fan Michael Shields the following events have been organised by the Free Michael Shields Campaign. Monday 6 July 12pm – All Hackney Carriages in Liverpool will parade past the Shields family home at noon. Please make every effort to attend this and show your support. The address is Towerlands Street, Wavertree, Liverpool. Saturday 11 July 5pm – A vigil will be held for Michael at the Church of England Cathedral, all of Michael's campaigners will be in attendance, including the likes of Ricky Tomlinson. Again please make every effort to attend. Finally, a plea, if anybody, either themselves, or knows of anybody who has any information regarding the attack on Martin Georgiev, please come forward now. Michael's legal team only have until the end of this month to submit any new evidence to Mr Straw and it is vital any available evidence is found. Please either email michaelshieldscampaign@uwclub.net or call the office of John Weate, Michael's solicitor on 0151 647 0000, your information will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
  14. "didn't yield to the baying mob" what a twat of a comment, by "baying mob" you are referring to his family, friends, team of solicitors and supporters who believe in his innocence, you make it sound like they have been attacking Jack Straw, when what they have done is as much as possible to keep this miscarriage in the limelight. I just hope you never find yourself in need of help and support after finding yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  15. Fucking hell, thats shocking.:( is there any moderation on this place?
  16. Don't see the problem then, if the members express their views to the union, only then can the Union act on their views and best interest. People are moaning about cheap travel to away games???? Well i will tell you now that The Union has not had one single bit of correspondance with this view, from any member. And the hundreds/thousands who used the travel last year show that it is a benefit. the meeting will be minuted, with all minutes made public.
  17. It had fuck all to do with the owners/players or football. It was just information that should be released from somewhere else in their own time instead of some know it all on the internet putting it on some forums.
