Yeah, I remember that - he looked great in that game and then rapidly became shit before leaving. Looked at his Wiki there and he barely had any sort of career at all... Played only 133 games total with his two decent seasons being in the French second division (I think).

His injury record has been frustrating and obviously he's had the odd sticky period here, now being one, but you're doing him a disservice there, in my opinion. Overall he's been a very good signing and a big part of our success under Klopp.

Nunez is great. Gakpo, I'm not convinced but there are a few signs of life there. I'd focus on questioning the players who've been here more than five minutes. 

The thing that worries me is how little of a goal threat he's been - he hasn't had many chances and he hasn't looked like scoring the ones he has had. How many matches is that? About 5? You don't get the impression he's about to start banging them in... This is a guy who was scoring and assisting left, right and centre in the Netherlands from what I believe and who was supposed to be a good finisher... Early days and tough circumstances but he's definitely giving off a whiff of flop even at this early stage

Issues around reliability of competitiveness/getting into the CL are fair enough. If he gives that much of a fuck about the weather, food and women then I'm not sure he's the sort of player I'd want to spend £100 on anyway. I just think that him being English is quite a big plus from our point of view.

We're currently an aging team with no spending power what so ever. Besides the manager, Where's the attraction? 

He can come here and be the main man in this new Liverpool rebuild (potential captain) , showcase his ability in the country of his birth, playing for a massive and successful club? I don't claim to know what his motivations are but what are the strong arguments for him going to Madrid? 

Yeah, I reckon there's a chance we'll sign Bellingham. I don't know how big the potential pitfalls are - price, no CL, whatever - but it feels to me like there's a lot of smoke for there to be no fire.

Great. In that case, play Alisson and Kelleher in goal, seven across the back, one midfielder and one up top. Take them back to Anfield for a replay and only lose 1-0. That seems like the best option at this point.
