  1. No because he's off to Sao Paulo in exchange for Hernanes according to a recent (highly unlikely) rumour.
  2. Do city definitely want to sell? I'd be surprised if they do especially on the cheap. They've already lost Ben haim and Dunne might be off to Sunderland. It doesn't make sense to sell him unless Hughes has a problem with his attiude in which case do we really want him?
  3. He only turned 18 in may and hasn't made a first team appearance yet so highly unlikely we will see much of him in the first team this year imo.
  4. Why do spurs want Maxi? Can he play on the left as well as the right? Why won't Masch just sign a new deal to put us out of our misery.
  5. Hopefully the Benzema rumours aren't true as I've got a feeling he'll take to the PL in the same way that torres did.
  6. In an ideal word he'd be great but I'm not sure if our wage structure would allow it.
  7. Not an easy one. Rafa speaks well of N'gog but I'm not sure if it's genuine or he's just trying to boost his confidence. I like N'gog myself and I think he'll be ready to play more games next season but I'm not sure if he's ready for the big games or a long run in the team. I really don't know what I'd do. Maybe Tuncay as he's a bit different to what we've already got and won't cost a fortune. We were linked with the argentine forward Bergessio on lfcglobe yesterday. Anyone known if this is a worthy site or just shite?
  8. Very true and most people don't realise this. Nemeth's lack of pace and power means he can't play the lone striker role very well (a little like robbie keane couldn't). He needs to play up front alongside someone who's got more of a presence. I actually think he could be quite a good partner for torres if we ever wanted to play 442. Hopefully he'll get a good chance in pre-season along with the likes of Pacheco, San jose, Kelly, spearing, darby, etc.
  9. You're probably right mate but Rule Number 1 of the transfer window is TRUST NOBODY.
  10. It's because the PL is so financially successful and money is evenly distributed. Therefore even the smaller clubs are financially sound (ish!) and therefore there are very few "selling clubs" left in the PL (clubs that rely on sales to stay afloat like Wimbledon used to). In other countries money isn't distributed evenly (eg real madrid, ac milan, etc own their own tv rights) and there are more selling clubs in those leagues who find it hard to refuse offers for their players. I remember Crystal Palace refusing an £8m bid for Johnson after they were relegated. I doubt if that would happen in many other countries. The PL is also a very difficult league to be successful in. It's style of play is different from any other and therefore buying foreigners is often more of a risk in England than elsewhere. I remember Juninho describing the PL's style as fast-fast-fast whereas he described Spain and south America as slow-fast-slow-fast. Buying players with PL experience therefore reduces the risk (robbie keane excluded!).
  11. He's a cross between tevez and messi from what I've seen - although not as good as either. A striker with pace who likes to run at defences in a headless chicken style. He's also meant to be a bit of a nutter. Would be a gamble. LFC Globe | Independent Liverpool Football Club Website are linking us with the argentine striker Bergissio. Anyone known if this is a credible website or just another koptalk?
  12. He's still too inconsistent for the first team. At the start of the year he looked superb for a few reserve matches but towards the end of the season he put in a few average/poor performances. He's been played in 3/4 positions for the reserves this year which probably has contributed to him being inconsistent. I think he'll look better alongside better quality players but I think a year on loan in Spain would be the best bet for next season. Personally I'm hopeful he can turn into another benayoun/luis Garcia.
  13. Spoke to a Brazilian journalist via email today (long story) and I asked him about Hernanes. He seems to think there is no interest in him from the premier league and he will probably end up at AC Milan this summer which is a shame as I'd love him here.
  14. Pacheco story on LFC Globe | Independent Liverpool Football Club Website now. A loan move wouldn't be a bad shout provided they guarantee him games. Let them have bruna as well. They'll both find it easier in Spain than England for a year or two. San Jose to Bilbao on a year loan would also work if Rafa insists on bringing in someone like Distin.
  15. I wouldn't mind Hernanes either and he is expected to leave Sao Paulo this summer but he's 24 and not 20 so he's probably mature enough to perform straight away but may not improve significantly. I think he'd be pretty good alongside masch.
  16. I'm happy with Degen/Darby as backup. Darby isn't the most exciting youngster we've got but I'm fairly confident he could "do an insua" this season and play 10-15 games if needed. Defensively he's probably better than Insua but he's just pretty poor going forward but if he does get games I think he could become as good as Arbeloa within a few seasons.
  17. Anyone know what Rafa meant when he mentioned new champions league rules when he was talking about nationality. Hope it's no stricter than last year's otherwise we're in trouble.
  18. Daily Mail again saying Alonso is Real-bound for around £30m and the Mirror saying Masch wants a big pay rise which would make sense. If Xabi goes I wouldn't mind signing Hernanes of Sao Paulo. Think he'll prove to be a class signing for whoever brings him to Europe.
  19. That goal.com article has made me feel more hopeful that Xabi might stay provided Rafa is genuine about wanting to keep him. Cheers for posting StevieH. I'm also hopeful that masch will give us at least one more year.
  20. Any news on that Jesus Fernandez link mate or was he just talking shite?
  21. I had a quick look on lfcglobe forum but couldn't see anything. Sure you've got the right forum mate?
  22. We've been linked with Jesus Fernandez before. He's an 18 year old midfielder. I'll try and find a link.
  23. Just been on bluemoon to see what the Richards situation is but didn't see much. Some ITK on there believes that City entered the Johnson race last night and he is now thinking things over after initially ruling out a move to them. He also said Tevez will have signed for them by Friday. They are also in for Eto'o and the Toure brothers according to him. Would be seriously fucked off if they got in the way of the Johnson deal. Starting to hate them more every day.
  24. For a low fee he could prove to be a good signing as he would cover CB and RB so no need to sign a hyypia replacement.
