I think you are missing the point: you cannot look at evolution in such isolation and argue that it is false. It is like a tree with different branches and the branches themselves have branches and so on. Humans, bananas, ferns and so on are the leaves on the tree at a particular point in time, but all of these grew from the root and share this commonality. In the same sense, the fact that some species that existed a long time ago still existing today does not disprove evolution at all. This just means that they got it right in the first place and are able to survive through the changes in the environment. On the other hand, this does not mean that some members of these species did not themselves evolve into something else in the mean time. Evolution is not an all or nothing process; you can have some members of the original species carrying on unaltered while some others evolving into other forms.
