If we have a flare up, which is more than possible with the schools being back, we do not have capacity to test, let alone turn around results quickly.
Fucking shambles.
It's taking 7 days for some care homes to get test results for their staff, that's if they can get tests. You'd think after the earlier catastrophe they would be prioritised.

Finished watching The Fall. The third season was just a load of whispering and a bit of a punch up at the end. Disappointing really because the second half of series one and all of series two were pretty good.
Finally got around to starting The Shield and only waited until 18 years after it first aired.
My sister warned me the third series was really poor in comparison, so I dodged it completely. Shame as I wanted to see Gillian fully explore her lesbian tendencies and really grow as a character.

Sarah-Jane Marsh, the director of testing NHS Test and Trace, has posted this on Twitter this morning:
“Can I please offer my heartfelt apologies to anyone who cannot get a COVID test at present. All of our testing sites have capacity, which is why they don’t look overcrowded, its our laboratory processing that is the critical pinch-point. We are doing all we can to expand quickly.”
So they have the capacity to test, but don’t really have the capacity to test, but they can test.
Stick this in the almost unending fuck ups pile.
Absolutely pathetic, again.
Cue more bullshit about 'ramping up' to an arbitrary figure which they won't meet. There was talk the other week of doing millions of tests per week- 'game changing' yet again- looks like that was complete bollocks too.

They are hugely influential although probably not massive at the time. Without them, The Eagles probably would've been a fair bit different.
The bastards.

No idea, but I don't subscribe to the idea that it's only young people driving it as that's not what I'm seeing when I go out, don't know about you. Whenever I've done the help out to eat out business it's been middle aged and older mostly, I don't know anyone who's shielding either.
It's not really an 'idea', it's from test result data. I think something like 2/3 of positive tests were in people under 40.

How is this even close?
Dave
I know. Sonic Youth should be battering these.

Yeah every episode. I read that the bbc had loads of complaints about that scene.
Yeah, seems a bit tame these days, but it made a real impact back then as it was quite shocking and unexpected.

Bingeing Spooks at the moment. Never seen it before. Really good especially considering it's over 15 years old. Bit disappointed at regularly losing good characters though.
Used to love Spooks. The chip fryer scene in an early episode was really shocking at the time, main characters weren't supposed to be offed like that. Is it all on iPlayer?

These two songs should swing it decisively in favour of Sonic Youth-

I really liked the end, and actually thought the second half was really tense. I think it’s underrated in general. Ol’ wolverine is really good. Not sure why he didn’t use his claws though. All part of the mystery I guess.
Dunno about under-rated, looking around it was critically acclaimed, financially successful and has an 8.2 public score on IMDB. It didn't piss me off as much as fucking Sicario, but the plot holes and sheer length of it were too much for me. Well-acted and beautifully shot though.

It has to be regulated. By making it an 18+ it puts the onus on the parents to take responsibility for it. At least then there will be some element of control. When I was younger I used to work in a couple of video games stores and when the classification system came in, it definitely changed the way games were sold and purchased. No doubt it would be the same for FIFA. As soon as their sales figures are hit, they'll definitely change it.
Not sure about PEGI (for the EU) but the ESRB (for the US) is a self regulatory body formed by games companies, they're not going to rock the boat. That's a real problem with tech firms in general- we've allowed them to self-regulate and basically write their own codes of conduct.

Unfortunately I think the kids like it. Apparently one of my nephews plays FIFA and he loves buying the packs. It's obviously a scam but try telling the kids that when they are telling their mates the best players they are getting.
Yeah, it's very addictive. My two used to watch Youtube videos of people opening the packs and wanted to start their own channel doing the same. Some governments have actually started to crack down on them, having a proper rating system and making the games 18+ only would be a start.

That's what really pissed me off about schools re-opening- 'kids don't really spread it, and even if they do, they only get mild cases'. Completely ignoring the poor cunts who have to teach them.

Apparently Bond himself has a scar on his face in the books.
And fucked up balls, judging by a torture scene.

I was mainly referring to 2016 onwards, but actually this whole mess goes back that far. And I am therefore dissing myself and calling myself a cretin for voting for those bastards in 2010. Lesson well and truly learned.
Same. Never again.

Prisoners is an EASY 8/10.
For the first hour, sure. The rest of it- and there's a lot of- just collapses in on itself.

Saints.
And now about incorporating gambling mechanics in kids' games?

Hey! The Lib Dems were just thinking of us. Not at all about their vain power trips. Don't be dissing them.

Sunday, Sunday...
The Departed- 8/10. I saw the Internal Affairs original some time back, that was stunning, this was nearly there. It just didn't have the tension of the HK film, still very good though.
Shutter Island- 8/10. Di Caprio and Ruffalo are superb actors. I watched this fairly soon after it came out, and the last line is still an absolute killer.
Prisoners- 6/10. Really annoyed about this. The first hour or so is absolutely brilliant. Then there's an hour and a fucking half of obvious red herrings and utter gibberish (the 'maze'). Even after all that nonsense, they have to leave it on a cliffhanger. No surprise it was done by Villeneuve, the fucking crook.

ALT-F4 would be more apt if the latest gamble doesn't pay off.

He actually admitted they were ripping them off, in the words of the great Partridge “his words not mine”
I think he meant in terms of the dynamics of a song- relatively quiet verse building up to a massive chorus, the stereotypical grunge thang. They were obviously inspired by the Pixies, but otherwise really weren't anything like them. As much as I like the Pixies, Cobain's lyrics were strikingly better for the most part, chillingly so in the case of something like Polly. Nirvana were a great band.

That's ridiculous. My sister is also potentially very vulnerable due to steroid and methotrexate treatment and her school have allowed her to wear both a mask and visor in classrooms.
