Not sure I'm understanding this correct because OFCOURSE we can play better. We're playing awful right now. But we've played badly for a period of a season before and always come back to our usual standards. He has a part, but remember he's not the one on the pitch wearing football boots. Thats what they said last year. "He's lost the players". Two weeks later we were killing teams for fun. I understand the frustration, I really do and in a way I'm playing Devils advocate, But I simply find the level of disloyalty to Rafa disgusting and thats just my honest opinion. Fact is the same people putting the boot in were begging Rafa to give Babel a chance over Kuyt, Rafa even played him through the middle for 20 minutes the exact way MANY on here insisted would make us more attacking? Correct me if I'm wrong (my stream being not great), didn't they get the penalty on a counter attack? This suggests to me we were going for the second goal, I certainly thought we'd upped our tempo a bit more than recent games? As I say, I'm keeping the faith til May.

How often has Gerrard been rested this season- How many minutes has he missed through "rest" and rotation? Gerrard has been on the pitch the last 6 games we've drawn and we DID still draw them. Certainly, I refuse to so easily give in to this Tabloid Hysteria about Rafa's alliance with Hicks, Stubborness, Agenda, killing our club, bullshit. I realise people love the club, and are getting very emotional but me, I plan to keep the faith, thank you very much.

Rafa encouraged Keane plenty at the beginning of the season from what I remember. Again, (and with the above article from the independent) I don't buy Rafa's doing it just to be vindictive. I think once he's decided which players to use in a game, he gets annoyed when he's constantly questioned, and THEN he comes out with these comments which can be interpreted as vindictive. It was the same with Crouch and Voronin last year. He often played Voronin instead of Crouch but come the end of the season he wanted to keep Crouch and he sold Voronin. He uses those players he feels has the attributes to win a particular game.

I'm not sure whether I buy that these comments by Benitez are him suggesting Keane is for sale. It could just as likely be he's tired of all the speculation he gets everytime Keane's left on the bench, or not in the squad, etc. Maybe Rafas just fed up? Obivously thats kind of disregarding everything else we've assumed about Rafa not wanting Keane, why he's not playing him, etc etc.

Fair enough, I was generalising a bit, but for the Mancs Carrick was >15M, nani/anderson were also about 15M each weren't they? Hargreaves also, but as I understand he's dead or something?

I think if Rafa would drop Kuyt and Gerrard was willing to play on the right, Keane could benefit from a string of games in that team. But with Rafas reluctance to drop such a hard working player and Gerrard treating the right side as kryptonite, its unlikely to ever happen. Shame, really.
