  1. I would much rather Kone and Lavia. I'm still not sure what the former's injury looks like but I thought I read he was coming back for August.
  2. The above is apparently from a reliable insider on a PSV forum.
  3. I agree, and also the wording from Joyce “50M is far below what would be required” gives the impression they the club do have a price in mind. Given Anthony and the like are going for 100M, Diaz is a 130M player minimum. If we aren’t soft that is what we will demand. I don’t think it will happen but I also don’t think it’s a non starter. Depends on rich Saudi blood really is.
  4. I do not want us to selling Diaz but if they come in with an 80m offer and we can buy Kvara then I'll be happy. The output of the latter Diaz will need to go a long way to match. If it's Chiesa or somebody then fuck that.
  5. Look sir, I totally appreciate and respect your perspective but I just think we have different views on our squad health, approach to transfers, squad planning and ownership. There are three weeks and 5 days to go until the start of the season. I don't give a fuck when the transfer window closes, after last season the priority should be starting with a bang. Sorry but Bradley, Morton and Quansah are just names being listed. They have proven the square root of fuck all. I won't entertain any arguments from folks that say they've earned the right to be given a chance because it doesn't lessen the need for first team players. Doak has earned the right but he is third choice behind Salah, Szobozlai (and potentially fourth choice behind Elliott). That is how it should be. We need two midfielders and a CB. We need at least two of that group to be signed in the next three weeks. Those are the only facts that matter.
  6. I love it when this argument is bandied about because my immediate question is, how did we fare last season? That's the exact point. We have had a shite squad for years. The whole point of a 'rebuild' is that you ship the shite eating up your wage bill and replace them with players who actually contribute towards you winning trophies. I'm not hoping the club buys another Naby Keita so I don't know why people keep mentioning his minutes. Phillips, Williams, VDB not being a loss is also very reductive, they aren't a loss if VVD and Konate are completely injury free all season. Konate loves an injury and VVD is aging. I agree that those players aren't the ones that would be our saviors in that scenario, but the whole point is that you buy players who can be. Ramsay isn't a loss until Trent picks up an injury for 12 games. Then who is at right back? And why exactly did we spend 10m on him last season given we are always bitching and moaning about being so broke? It's not about the players that have been shipped out, it's the (lack of) active work we have done to rebuild the squad in parallel. We've been caught on the hop with Fab and Hendo, and this is exactly why you get your players in early, so you have the bandwidth to react to stuff like this. But we continue to be either supremely arrogant and/or inept when it comes to squad planning. We now need to bring in two midfielders (one nailed on starter) and a LCB as a bare minimum. Three players to buy and just over three weeks until our first game, good fucking luck with that Liverpool FC.
  7. Ah yes we haven't sold them so in that case let's all make sure we pick them in our fantasy football teams for next year. I was just listing the incomings and outgoings based on transfer market for fucks sake. Are those three leaving? Yes. So is it more accurate to leave them out? Fucking hell
  8. My bad on the poor math (I was typing half asleep!) but not including Gapko for me, as the point is we went into this summer talking bit about a rebuild and have barely built a thing. If we read my post as a criticism of owner spending I would also go back the last two years because they spun us that long on the Jude stuff.
  9. I personally think Thuram absolutely happens now. He was off because Szoboszlai, Hendo and Elliott was a lot of depth for that RCM role. Now he comes in and takes Hendo's spot but also does bits in 6. The question is who replaces Fab.
  10. Calvin Ramsay @CalvinRamsay Very excited to be here can’t wait for the season to start and see you all at deepdale soon! @pnefc Who's our backup RB now? Bradley? Gomez? So when exactly are we going to start buying some fucking players. As of the end of this week, we could be looking like this: OUT - 11 Players, 70M Sales & Mega Wages offloaded Fabinho 40m Hendo 20m Nat Phillips 10m Firmino Free Keita Free Ox Free Milner Free Carvalho Loan Ramsay Loan Rhys Williams Loan Sepp Van Der Breg Loan IN - 2 Players, 85M Purchases Macca 35m Szobo 60m Net: 9 players lost, 15M spent Now we're at a point where it looks like we need two midfielders (one immediate starter), a LCB and maybe even RB cover. I'll be surprised if we do more than one more midfielder.
  11. No thanks on Goretzka. He's more of an 8 and loves an injury. I'd rather we went for Thuram to replace Hendo.
  12. Henderson is fucking shit so I'm not sure in what world that would be a good thing.
  13. Actually, that last line was bollocks. Caicedo would be brilliant too, and us just happening to have one of the midfielders he had an amazing season with last year makes him worth an extra 10m.
  14. Trying to "replace" Fabinho is a fool's game, there just aren't many convincing options in the market for that. Instead, it makes sense finding a guaranteed and experienced starter with a different profile and a prospect DM. Liverpool should buy Kimmich and Lavia. Kimmich would serve two purposes, one as a DM (where he excelled playing next to Thiago) and one as a RB allowing Trent to push into his faux-6 role. We could genuinely interchange Kimmich and Trent throughout games, and Kimmich's defensive nous makes up for Trent's fragility in that area. We then bet on Lavia on becoming our starting DM over the next year. In games he needs help in we play Kimmich next to him and Mac in front (which has a promising balance of legs, tactical nous and technical ability). If we want to be more adventurous we incorporate the likes of Dom. Kimmich is a proven winner and 27 years old, has his prime years left in him. I'd much rather spend 80M on him than somebody like Caicedo.
  15. Hahahaha fucking hell, that's a pretty reductive way of describing Saudi Arabia's view on equality and inclusion. But yes, seeing as you seem to be asking me this question seriously, don't make a fucking parade song and dance that you support gays if you're this desperate to take money off a country who actively beheads gays. It's not like he's going to that country due to the excellence of the competition or to further his technical ability, its a pure fucking money grab and holiday.
  16. What's that then, a completely empty gesture? He's a bloke who's nice enough to send a tweet to support LGBTQ, but not nice enough to say no to millions from those who make LGBTQ illegal. Doesn't compute.
  17. Do people understand how fucking arrogant it is to kick up a massive stink to get yourself a 4 year contract on obscene wages, and then two years later after you stink the gaff out, kick up another massive stink to try force club to let you walk away for free? How much contempt do you have to hold us in to go about your business like that? Disrespectful and ungrateful cunt.
  18. So fucking what though? He is 33 years fucking old and the gaffer has stuck by him despite his critics for years, how utterly arrogant does he have to be to not understand the need for transition? Put it this way, in what world is Henderson a key player for any of the top 10 teams in the league? He is fucking fortunate. There's a reason the only club after him are those in Saudi, and not even one of the rich ones, just the broke bastards that Stevie happens to manage. But let's say he is truly shocked and disappointed at not being guaranteed game time (because he is deluded), there is a way to go about it. To start briefing all of the journos who love to nosh you off that you're going to move and have agreed terms, before the Saudi club has even approached us with an offer and figured out if they can afford our demands, completely puts the club in disarray during a really important pre season. He is our fucking CAPTAIN for fucks sake. I don't think people understand how disrespectful all of this carry on is and this is before even getting into the issue of the mask slipping and all of his LGBTQ support being as empty as his goal tally. Fucking shit cunt. Only reason I gave him some license was because I thought he was a sound fella. Whatever happens, there is no chance in hell he should be near the captaincy or the first team next season, so I just hope Klopp can suppress his sentimentality to ensure that is the case.
  19. I wanted Henderson moved on this summer regardless, but my position was that I would have been fine with him staying because of the off-pitch qualities he brought. I think he's always been average technically, but recently that has degraded to being absolutely shite. His best qualities in the past - athleticism, fitness, tactical awareness - have all aged like milk. I watched him last season and couldn't believe how poor he was, hoofing the ball in the air at every opportunity and barking at others for his mistakes. Even still, despite that, his leadership, his alignment with the club's values, his insatiable drive and desire to win, all meant I would have been fine with him staying. He had held himself with great dignity during his time here as skipper and that gets you some credit. I had forgiven him for the bullshit PR drive he did two seasons ago to force us into giving him a new contract, ruining our pre-season that year, because beyond that, he'd done a lot of good. But now...now he can well and truly fuck off. To whore yourself out for a shit Saudi side safe in the knowledge that they weren't prepared to give us a fucking dime to buy you, and thinking you can force our arm to let you fuck off for free, are the acts of an utter and ungrateful twat. Everything you stood for now crumbling like a sand castle under your hypocrisy and arrogance. Hendo was always blessed to even have the chance to wear the armband for a club like ours, and now he feels like he's above it because of a few extra million? All of his bollocks around LGBTQ, food banks and the lot just seems more and more like Marcus Rashford PR stunts. Thanks for doing your best to scupper another pre-season for us skip. If the saudis don't want to stump up for this clown then take the armband off him and make him put the cones out for the next season. I doubt any fan with a brain cell wants to see him on the pitch much anyway regardless of all this carry on.
  20. The reason why is because we have owners who are incredibly risk averse with regards to player acquisition. John Henry probably gets IBS hearing about what Boehly is doing at Chelsea. FSG manage through the lens that the risk of leaving us short for a season is better than the risk of having players on the books they can't shift. I actually think it is these kind of situations that the club remains prepared for by all of their bollocks "monitoring" phases with players. I think we just keep leads warm in case we ever come into money. We are about to come into circa 60m (and about 400K pw on wages freed up), so time to scramble I guess.
  21. Pretty sure I read Paul Joyce saying that the feeling at the club is that an offer coming in means Fabinho has already indicated he is willing to leave. I think this is the wording: The fact that Al Ittihad made an official offer for Fabinho indicates that the player is willing to go for the new challenge. Joyce is basically on our payroll, he probably eats lunch at the fucking canteen, so I would take this as a strong indicator that both deals are happening.
  22. Also, there is no world in which we keep either of these players now. Klopp will not want any players who have fluttered their fanny to another club, or at least he shouldn't. They were both fucking shite last season too so it's not like we'd be keeping a Suarez against his wishes.
  23. Fucking hell this midfield rebuild has so far comprised of more destroying than rebuilding. I am not bothered about losing either but two additional first team quality CMs need to be bought, in addition to a CB. I am very very worried given past summers that we'll get one good CM and be told that's it. Although he was shite at it, Hendo was a 6 option. We will essentially be losing all senior options at 6, with Bajectic our only remaining DM. We will need a top quality first choice DM and a prospect DM as a minimum.
