Looks like these moneybags will now throw ridiculous funds to bring another defender. Hope it doesn't affect our plans (if we have any...)

Fenerbahce are terrible! Look like a bunch of retirees.

I'm with you. Unfortunately the horrors of "Summer of 2012" left a deep wound!

Hard to disagree with this piece. One week (and a bit)...

This stuff doesn't work anymore with players of this day and age. Success begets success. The Mancs realized it a long time ago, then came Chelsea and now its looking like Spurs are catching on, not to mention City. Until we realize this as a club we will continue to regress.

Just do it FFS! By James Pearce Good Will hunting - Reds hopeful of transfer deal 20 Aug 2013 07:22 Positive talks lead club to hope they can see off Tottenham interest Liverpool FC remain hopeful they can convince Anzhi Makhachkala winger Willian to move to Anfield. The Reds are battling with Tottenham for the services of the £30million-rated Brazilian winger. Both clubs have enjoyed positive talks with the Russian outfit over a fee and Willian, who has his heart set on a switch to the Premier League, is mulling over his options. Some reports have suggested that the Londoners' ability to offer European football this season has helped give them the edge in discussions. Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas also knows the 25-year-old personally having come close to signing him twice before. However, Liverpool have been encouraged by their talks with the player's representatives and manager Brendan Rodgers is hoping Willian will accept the chance to line up alongside fellow countrymen Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho. Liverpool are expected to confirm the signing of Aly Cissokho on a season-long loan from Valencia today. The French left-back passed his medical yesterday.

No doubt it would be a risk but one would hope at 25 he can still add to his game. We have also seen cases of players being more effective (or not) when given slightly different roles or moving leagues. It's difficult to value players nowadays as price can depend on one or multiple factors (demand, supply, club economics, 'Daniel Levys', desperation etc). If he's a good player and will give us more than we have, get him if you can afford him.

I must be the only one who doesn't rate Suarez in the top 5. He's had one cracking season, is a crazy good dribbler but has some serious shortfalls. I would rank top 5 as Messi Ronaldo Iniesta, Van Persie, Neymar

Exactly. On Bernard not very encouraged by words like 'monitoring'. He will be snapped up by someone else no doubt. He could be quite a coup if we nabbed him. Seems a fantastic talent.

Fuck we overdo this passing shyte in our half. Invariably then give the ball away and they have numbers. I like a passing game but you have to have the right players.

A bigger set of balls would also help. So much space to exploit yet so predictable.
