  1. Agreed. Its a sign of intent from Rafa.....play well, you get games. If all goes well I dont think there will be a need for Masch to be on the field tonight as I would rather use him only if I had to, in order to keep him fresh for the City game. Plus I want to see how the same side that can dismantle Everton in the league fairs against European opposition. Prediction: 2-0 Keane and Kuyt
  2. Comon, you have to admit, it was a little overhit. Plus it took a great left footed cross from Keane to make the goal in the first place. Give some credit to Alonso for making the pass but give some fucking credit to Keane to getting there before going over the line and making the cross....
  3. I wont be happy with it though. At Stamford Bridge I suppose a draw is a decent result. For the record I want us to go top of the table with a bang, and an away win at the Bridge is a pretty big bang.....
  4. I agree. No matter which way you swing it, I think Chelsea will be there for the taking. By know Rafa knows them inside and out and par from a change of head coach they pretty much have the same players. I can see Liverpool winning this one.
  5. I dont think we should be playing for a draw anyways. We are too good for that. Sure we will play compact but that doesnt mean we cant attack away from home. Also I expect Babel to start so that we can counter-attack fast. 2-1 my correct prediction but Keane bagginga double..
  6. i just want it us to end it in the league, and now if we can carry on in high spirits and with our great form.............it would be like winning the CHL all over again.........
  7. To have a great chance of winning the title and to get people taking notice of us, we must bring this home record to an end. Chelsea fans pride themselves on it, and I cannot see any other team stopping them. Rafas team seems to be the more equiped to defeat them on their own turf. Maybe then people will start to sing a different tune...
  8. A good read as any in this thread and I will rep you after my reply. I have to say that Rafas style of play has grown on me this year and part from Torres looking unfit from time to time, we looked like the more fit side in our games, especially against the Mancs. All we need to see now is our team hitting top gear and seeing what Rafa has envisioned all along, a team that attacks and defends as a single unit.
  9. You mean his determination to get there before the ball crossed the line?? The ball was meant for Keane, it was overhit, but Keane got there....you cannot blame Keane for lack of pace when he got to the ball!!!
  10. I dont agree with that. Alonso has been paying to the max since the start of the season, but I cant say the same about last season where Rafa might of been justified if indeed he has sold him. Now he is holding up the ball much higher which forces him to look for the through pass.
  11. I think his short penetrating passing will improve once he does two things: 1) He improves his short passing 2) The fowards improve their movement We might then see a world class player in Alonso...
  12. Memories of Luis Garcia flooded back when you said that last part. The only problem I have with Alonso is his short passing. Sometimes misplaced, sometimes overhit with the first goal against Everton being a prime example. He nearly overhit it and if it wasnt for Keane determination to get there, it would of been badly overhit.
  13. My heart fluttered there for a second. What you say is true and I do beleive that if we can keep this form between our "bogey" winter months then we may have a great chance to the title..
  14. Given the past transfer windows turmoil about his future, Alonso has come in to prove that he deserves a place in the first team line up. Not only has he proved that he has a great football brain, talent and skill but he has also proved with his action against Everton how much the club means to him. Rafa should never sell Alonso. He wants to stay here and should stay here. Barry can stay where he is.....
  15. I kinda agree with red here. I mean if Rafa did leave he would take with him his tactics, formations and game plans that have have worked wonders for us in the past. Not to mention that this now is his squad and as such I cant see anyone coming in and doing a better job with the current crop of players, who I might add are the finest we have seen in a long time. Add to that the inner turmoil that has engulfed the club in recent memory and you have a situations that no top manager will want to get invloved in. Rafa has done so much over years for Liverpool Football Club and I suprised that no one other than red can see the consequences of his departure. He is building for the future, he is making Liverpool FC his own by transorming it into a winning machine. Take him out of the equation and we will chaos. What happens next is anyones guess. Starting line up for tonight?? Well I can see him dropping Alonso for Masch tonight to provide more protection for his defence and move Gerrard just behind Keane and Torres with Kuyt on the right and Reira on the left. On the left back I want to see Aurellio back and have Arbeloa on the right. --------------Torres------------- ----------Keane----------------- ---Reira--------Gerrard-------Kuyt --------------Masch------------- --Aurellio---Cara----Skertel------Arbeloa
  16. Well now that the Keane-Torres partnership is starting to flourish I expect Torres to set up Keane for a couple of goals.
  17. Agreed, Skertel is keeping him out for a reason, there is no point in being a cry baby about it. Agger is brilliant talent but now he must keep calm and wait for his chance.
  18. Torrres: Turning straight men gay.......wait a minute.....
  19. There are just somethings that money simply cannot buy: Team Unity, brotherhood, heart, bravery and passion. In the derby we saw all these things, even in the first half where not many chances were created, but you saw the desire in both teams to win. In the end what was the difference in the teams was our attacking force. Keane, Torres, Kuyt, Gerrard, Alonso and Reira all played a part in both goals. I think Keane let us all down in the first half where he used the full backs and Reira every time as decoys. No such mistake in the second half where he was dropped back a little bit, and on both occsasion rose made an excellent cross with his left and a simple through pass that made the goals. Reira started the first move to the goal, linking up with Alonso who put a great through ball in the area, albeit a little bit hard but it end up in the goal. Special praise goes to Gerrard who drove the team and kept the midfield compact and to Kuyt who never gives up. If he can score every now and again then we might have a Rooney style on our hands but with a better work rate. And all this without our pacey players in Ngog, Babel and El-Zhar and our stronghold player The Chief. Doesnt matter about everything else, we have a title winning squad on our hands. EDIT: Forgot to mention Torres who I am so glad to see back to his old self. Once Keane starts banging in the goals, who knows what we might accomplsih...
  20. The fullbacks didnt get much of the ball anyway today. It was hard for them to make an impact in an attacking sense without running with the ball. Defensively I think Dossena is solid and strong. He covers really well too.
  21. Our first touches. Especially Kuyts. He almost never lost the ball and was linking up play really well. Rieras touch on the wing which set up the goal was fantastic and it was nice to see the magic back in Torres again today. It seems like an overall improvement, one thing is........why does Keane never pass to Dossena and Reira when they have achers of space?? Does have something agianst Left-footers......otherwise great game lads....
  22. I also want to see Pennant do well. Sadly thats a desire of the heart rather than logic...
