  1. Ive found a sport i think i can get behind 100% Lingerie Football! its televised and everything!! [video=youtube;AfkKjATCu4E]
  2. Of the 23 signings under his reign, 1 has been a total success. 18 of them total failures. This season Gerrard is our joint top goal scorer on 3, level with Own goals and its our lowest points total at this stage since 3 points for a win was started. I think Hodgson was sacked with us 10 points off 4th place, if Rogers isnt within that he should go as well. Its simply not working and Suarez was just papering over a lot of cracks, and its no wonder he wanted to leave.
  3. Reina threw his name into the hat as soon as valdes said he wasnt going to renew his contract, and you can be sure his agent was working overtime to try to make it happen behind the scenes. Rogers only wanted players who were committed so he signed Mignol and moved Reina on. I'm pretty sure if Reina hadnt written his letter to the fans when he left he'd be back at the club now, mistakes made on both sides i think.
  4. I've believe Rogers has openly told journalist that he didnt want Balotelli and that he was signed by Ayre.
  5. I was told if we'd got through the next round was £75!
  6. that is a good point. id argue the price of carroll aside (which was partly to do with chelsea throwing it at us) id rather have him here (if fit) than lambert, and the signing of downing is as bad as markovic for the same waste of money.
  7. i could equally say to build that reputation that have to show your determination to do well in it! What top player would look at our best players dropped for the Madrid game and say thats where i want to go to play in the those big CL games...
  8. well i didnt really want to write committee i suppose i just didnt want to dump all the responsibility for this on Rogers as i doubt he had little say in the sale of Suarez, but i would imagine it was Comolli leading the transfer policy then and its Rogers leading it now. It just seems very obvious that one system has failed us massively while the other turned up some actual footballers (and stewart downing). I know the arguments will roll on about the siging of Carrol, but I dont think many people would argue the 2 from 23 is acceptable. (poss 3 if Lambanana settles)
  9. but why? he signed more good than bad players including Suarez the best player we've seen at the club possibly ever. the commitee has manged 2 good signings out of 23.
  10. I'm not going to bother listing the players but in hindsight Comolli had more hits than the committee in a smaller time frame and spend. Would you gib the committee and have him in sole charge again?
  11. no, i dont think id have started this thread if we played to try to win any of the games, id put up with the waste of money and blurt players wanting to go to London, but if your not even going to try till its too late why even bother in the first place. Its not how Rafa ever treated it and that the CL football i was blooded on, just feel very pissed off about it.
  12. I know im feeling really down after last nights game, but im really starting to question why we even strive to get in the CL now. I dont think we approached any of these games as the marquee show pieces of football they are meant to be, throwing the towel in against real madrid said it all about how Rogers has treated the competition. We are always being told its were you need to be to attract top class players but Sanchez wouldnt even talk to us and just look at the shit we've been left to buy. And the money, whats the point giving Rogers another £50m to blow on 3 more shite players. I've always thought of CL as the holy grail (behind a title) but now im just thinkging whats the fucking point?
  13. the more i think about this the only thing that makes any sense of it is that Johnson has it in his current contract that he must play if hes fit. So we've had to offer him a new contract just to stop him playing every game for the rest of this season. why else would you pick a blatantly shit player, week after week, who not even going to be in the side next season due to the contract problems. it makes no sense? why else would you even offer him a new contract when you've 2 right backs at the club and another out on loan? Can anyone point to a league game when Johnson was benched but was fit?
  14. Is it possible he really does have this must play clause in his contract, and this is our only way of stopping him playing for the rest of the season?
  15. I wish he had scored, i always think its a good omen, but i was really happy with how we played with him on the pitch, and the constant threat he caused is just what we need. Im glad gerrard didnt give him the pen though, think that will set the right tone for him. Hope he keeps playing like that. Thought we clicked again today and moreno had a fantastic game.
  16. I dont know that it was beak, just seems most likely. Could have been anabolic steroids and a low-grade beaver tranquilizer. I do know that there was a lot of meetings about what do, and the decision was taken out of Rogers hands.
  17. Im hearing he failed a drugs test! So not a physical failed a medical, but the medical has turned up coke in his system.
  18. i dont think any of our games are going to be comfortable tbh, if i was an opposition manager Id be parking the bus for 45-60 mins then going for us once the nerves kick in. We've been all over the place finishing the last few games.
  19. http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/apr/25/football-manager-predicts-how-the-season-will-end And so the football season is gearing up for another dramatic conclusion, the Premiership moving into its final three matches, the title still up for grabs and relegation places grimly beckoning. No one can possibly know what will happen next. Or can they? With its complex tactical engine, based closely on real-life data, Football Manager claims to be the most authentic sports management simulation ever devised. Wannabe-Mourinhos spend more time playing it on the PC gaming platform Steam than any other title on the service, and the accuracy and depth of its 300,000-strong player database is such that it's rumoured to be used by professional scouts seeking out the next big superstars. In 2008, Everton even signed a deal to get unrivaled access to the game's statistics. But how accurate is the game as a gauge of the real sport? To find out, the Guardian asked the series' developer Sports Interactive to run the end-of-season fixtures for England's four main leagues, plus the FA Cup and Champions League, through their engine. The team coded in all the correct fixtures, the likely squad selections and the prefered tactics of every side, and then let it run. Here's what football's biggest computer brain came up with. The Barclays Premiership The Premier league No surprises here, perhaps. According to Football Manager, Liverpool will be crowned champions for the first time in 24 years. “In the crunch top-two clash against Chelsea, Suarez gives Liverpool an early lead before a Salah equaliser midway through the second half," says Sports Interactive's football analyst, Tom Davidson, about the crucial forthcoming fixture. "With the game seemingly heading towards a draw, Chelsea fail to react to a Liverpool counter-attack and Coutinho coolly slots the ball past Schwarzer with eleven minutes left on the clock. The Reds then go on to draw 1-1 against Palace to all but secure the title.” Perhaps the best part of Football Manager 2014, however, is how surprisingly accurate it can be about the personality of players and managers. “The in-game Mourinho’s reaction to the Liverpool victory was less than complimentary; he criticised Liverpool’s physicality on the pitch before refusing to answer any questions about his own players.” Wow, it really is accurate. According to our simulation, Liverpool will end 2014 unbeaten, wrapping up their season with a 2-0 win against Newcastle. Luis Suarez will take his goal tally for the season to 33 and Brendan Rodgers is named Manager of the Year. As for the rest? Mourinho's focus on the Champion's League, as well as injuries to Cech and Terry, see Chelsea pipped to second position by a rejuvenated Manchester City. “City themselves should have finished with a better points total,” note the Sports Interactive wizards, “but a misjudged backpass from Demichelis against Aston Villa allowed Agbonlahor to steal all three points.” Everton falter at the last, drawing at Southampton and then beaten by Manchester City – which allows Arsenal to secure Champions League football yet again. The most priceless nugget in our simulated match? “Ashley Young was brought on as a sub against Southampton," says Davidson. "He was booked for diving." Joining the Toffees in the Europa League are Tottenham, who pip Manchester United to 6th place. Despite Giggsy in the dugout, the Red Devils end a disappointing campaign with defeats to Hull and Southampton. So that's the big boys. At the other end of the table, Sunderland stage a comeback for the ages by securing four points from their final four games and surviving on goal difference. “Adam Johnson’s brace in a 2-1 victory over West Brom proves to be the deciding factor in the relegation battle," says Davidson. A final-day loss for the Black Cats against Swansea isn't quite enough for Norwich who, despite drawing 1-1 with Chelsea, take a 3-0 pounding from Arsenal. Meanwhile Cardiff and Fulham can't get out of the drawing habit, and both have a winless final three games and finish rooted to the bottom of the table. Champions: Liverpool Relegated: Norwich, Cardiff, Fulham
  20. :) come on, im not one who believes in curses or luck, but ex striker popping up against old clubs happens a fuck load, but he's never hurt us since he left, i hope to christ this isnt the time.
  21. say you sold him for 15 at a push! can you name a better striker for 15m to buy? we need the numbers next season.
  22. defo have him back next season!
  23. I was going to make a post as its just struck me the damage Torres can now do to us :s Ill stick it on her as i dont want to be sensationalist, but fuck, if he got the winner (and you know he'd celebrate it as well now the c*nt) an it let city back in and cost us the title... it doesnt bear thinking about... but ive been waiting for him to hurt us the last few years, you know how an ex player always does, but its never come. hes been worse then piss poor in any games we've played since he left, but christ... what it would mean to hit us know.? I mean what do people think, would he be happy to see us fail now he's left and we've judas'd him even if he wasnt winning himself? or do you think he want us to win it over city after that bullshit article about still havin love for the club an fans?
