Casting BT sport may be the problem. Have you tried casting a normal YouTube video?

BT is the problem. There's a message saying it's not permitted.

I think the way round it though is don't cast the app, cast the handset, which on my phone I can do from settings.

Not sure I follow. I thought I was casting the phone.

Have tried casting the phone Sky and that wont work either but I can cast my IPTV.

I've added Sky Sports app on my android box. Seemed fine until but I'm getting a message saying it can't find my location. I've checked the permissions etc and everything seems as it should be.

Someone mentioned mental health earlier in the Covid thread. Some of the most annoyed I've been during this whole thing is when people my age (mid 20's), who are perfectly middle class, are healthy and who haven't had anybody they know die, have posted stuff on social media about the mental health impact this has had on them because they can't live their lives normally. I'm sorry, no one cares. It's hard for everybody, but it's harder for almost everybody else but you.

You're about at the bottom of the totem pole of people who should be complaining. You can't say that because mental health is obviously important for everybody, but it's just true. That shit has been annoying.

Roughly translated, it means their gyms are shut.

  3. Joe Biden says US will hit Russia with cyberattacks in retaliation for data hack

Joe Biden last night suggested he would launch retaliatory cyber attacks against Russia in the wake of a recent massive data breach of the US government.

The hacking was apparently carried out by Russia and posed a "grave risk" to national security that cannot "go unanswered," the president-elect said.

Mr Biden said: "They can be assured we will respond, probably respond in kind. There are many options I will not discuss now.”

Asked why he would not lay out the details of his response, he said: "We don't sit here and say we're going to strike you with a nuclear weapon and so on.

"Let us determine what the extent of the damage is. I promise you there will be a response." Mr Biden's suggestion that his response would be "in kind" was the clearest indication yet that he intends to target Russian infrastructure with cyber attacks, rather than simply imposing financial penalties.

The president-elect went on to lambast Donald Trump for not officially blaming Russia.

Mr Biden said: "This assault happened on Donald Trump's watch when he wasn't watching. Rest assured that even if he does not take it seriously, I will.”

The breach began earlier this year when hackers used the Texas-based software company SolarWinds as a stepping stone to get into government and corporate networks.

The attacks were first revealed earlier this month.

Among those breached were the US government departments of Treasury and Commerce, parts of the Defence department, and the state department and National Institutes of Health. Thousands of US companies were also exposed.

According to SolarWinds up to 18,000 of its customers had downloaded a software update that had been compromised, allowing the hackers to spy on them for months.

Earlier this month the US ordered those in government to disconnect the compromised software.

Mr Biden said the US government had been caught "off-guard and unprepared" by the hackers who had been working on the attack since at least last year.

He accused the Trump administration of failing to prioritise cyber security, and said he was "disappointed' by the president's "irrational downplaying" of the threat.

Mr Biden called on Mr Trump and his team to fully cooperate and share information about the attack to help prevent future ones.

The president-elect, during a Christmas speech in Delaware, said cyber attacks should be treated with "the same seriousness of purpose that we treated the threat of other unconventional weapons.”

Mr Trump has said the situation was "well under control”.

Mike Pompeo, his secretary of state, has said "we can say pretty clearly that it was the Russians" that were responsible.

Mr Biden said: "I see no evidence that it’s under control. I see none. Heard of none. Defence department won’t even brief us on many things. So I know of nothing that suggests it’s under control.

"The question of the damage done remains to be determined. We have to look at, very closely, the nature of the breaches, how extensive they are, and what damage has been done," Mr Biden said.

Mr Biden said he would work with allies to ensure that there were "rules of the road" in cyber space" in future.

The president-elect said he could not currently ensure that US computer systems were safe but would "demand" they are following his inauguration next month.

Asked if he believed the Russian attack was an "act of war" he declined to say, instead calling it a "grave risk".

Not as far as I’m aware. I had a 3 month free sub to BT Sport recently as part of a phone upgrade and the app worked fine on my box. You’ve just got to put the remote in mouse/cursor mode to navigate around. It can’t hurt to try it out at least.

I'll give it a go but I just assumed they wouldn't work on the box I have. Iplayer and a couple of others have stopped working on it.

If you're on an Android phone, I think you should be able to cast your handset regardless of app to any other android - such as fire stick, android box, android smart TV or Chromecast.

I think the latest Chromecast include Android TV too, so should behave more like a fire stick.

I'm using a Samsung phone. Couldn't tell you what the TV runs on but when I tried to cast BT Sport to it, a message appeared saying it wasn't allowed.

I hope that fuck gets banned the second Biden is inaugurated.

Haven't the powers that be at Twitter already said as much. Won't make a bit of difference in the grand scheme of things as it'll be job done as far as he's concerned.

His Dark Materials S2 - 8/10 HBO and the BBC have done a right good job adapting the books and was one of the best things on Sunday night tv the past couple of months. It's also been renewed for the third and final season.

I should hope so after the way they left things on Sunday.

I've been enjoying the second series but it just felt a bit strung out mid way through. I was hoping they'd end it in a Boxing Day spectacular but alas not. It'll just be spun out into a predictable all looks lost final episode until.........

It's starting to feel like the dying days of a regime, he doesn't seem to care what people think of him any more and is just going out in a blaze of glory.

I was thinking along the same lines. He's taken not giving a fuck to different levels.

We’re our own worst fucking enemy.

I'd like to think that given the utter fucking shambles they've made of controlling the virus, all the lies, all the money syphoning, Dominic Cuntface Cummings and his dodgy fucking eyesight. The cover ups and all the rest of the stunts they've pulled, a lesson will have been learnt.

I'd like to think, that after all that, confidence would be high among us that there's no fucking way they'll be in with a chance in the next general election.

Sadly, things are going to have to get a whole lot worse before the docile among us wake up and smell the fucking coffee, because as you say, we're our own worst fucking enemy.

Following on from my last 'decorating the bathroom' post, there was one last job to do, reseal the bath. I didn't think the old stuff was that bad (I re-did it only last year) but she had a real bee in her bonnet about doing it, so I told her she was welcome to crack on (I've done literally everything else in there).

I took the dog out this morning and have come back to find she's currently working on it. But it's "tricky" in some places, which I know, and can we turn the water off and remove the taps so she can do behind them. This is despite me pointing out all of this last week and of course, she's now trying to get me to do it. I have explained how it's possible to get the old stuff out and the new stuff in without removing the taps but nah, not having it. I got a classic passive aggressive "fine" until I offer to turn the water off but take no responsibility for water damage if she takes the taps off and water starts pissing through the, recently decorated, kitchen ceiling. So now she's not doing that and is in a mood with me.

    1) Why do they constantly make simple jobs more complicated?

    2) Why am I then expected to resolve it?

Should have just waited till she was out and whacked a load of HG mould remover on it. She'd have been none the wiser.

The 1951 Alistair Sim version, (The absolute best version, Sim just nailed it) was originally black & white. The one you watched was a colourised (not colour) version.

You're right, the b&w version is much better.

I've got a colourised version of It's a Wonderful Life somewhere and that's the same, the b&w version just works better.

Same as those colourised versions of Laurl & Hardy. No need to do anything to them.
