  1. Torres has to be going now that the Carroll deal is official - surely?
  2. Carroll deal official, on both LFC and NUFC officail sites - no fee disclosed yet
  3. From BBC website :- Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel has had the red card he received in Sunday's defeat at Liverpool rescinded by the Football Association. The visitors were 4-0 down when Friedel was sent off by referee Martin Atkinson for bringing down Fernando Torres. However, the American argued he went for a 50-50 ball and had nowhere else to go after Torres got to it first. The decision means Friedel will now be available for Villa's trip to Manchester United on Sunday 5 April. He's gonna keep a clean sheet this time
  4. Good comparison Karl. Do behave, I'm not whining, just trying to have a bit of fun and point out the irony. Is there a need for all the vitriol?
  5. Apologies all for the post, I haven't been around much lately and didn't realise I had stumbled into a clique area for sensible, sensitive sorts. Feel free to delete such drivel, so you can get on with deciding whether Tweedy or Stevens would get it. FYI, make room for the mushroom was a 1980's advert trying to get people to eat more mushrooms, but not the magic sort unfortunately.
  6. I am just watching "You don't mess with the Zohan" and it has got to the bit where he is banging all the old ladies in the hair salon and it got me thinking about Mr Rooney... Do you think we should come up with a song for the next Manure game - how about just chanting "Dont mess with the Rooney" to the tune of "make way for the mushroom"?
  7. You can download the whole programme at mininova.org. Just search "match of the day" and download the torrent at the top of the list, Match of the Day 28th December 2008.
  8. I heard some twat from Coral Bookmakers, Dave Stevens I think his name was, talking on the radio this morning about the latest betting following the weekend matches. He said, & I quote - "Nil-Nil at home to Stoke is a not title winning performance. Already, in September, you can put a line through Liverpool now, they will not be winning the League this year" then saying that we had gone out in the betting to 15-2 for the league. 15-2! What a nob-end, if you can put a line through us already then how about a bit of 100-1 action? I so want this guy to be eating his own shit next May.
  9. Headline in the Times today... David Villa, the leading goalscorer in the European Championship finals, has indicated that Liverpool would be his preferred destination this summer if the Merseyside club’s American owners can find the minimum £25 million or so that would be needed to prise him from Valencia. The Spain forward has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid, but he was keen to register his interest in moving to Anfield. “Liverpool have a Spanish coach [Rafael BenÍtez] and I have lots of friends there,” the 26-year-old said. BenÍtez is understood to have explored the possibility of such a move, but it would appear a remote prospect at a time when Liverpool are struggling to meet Aston Villa’s £20 million valuation of Gareth Barry. He hopes to raise £10 million by selling Peter Crouch to Portsmouth this week, but it is unlikely that the club’s owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr, would sanction a club-record bid for Villa. It's time to empty the pockets and make this happen methinks...
  10. Moaning about the re-arranged game with Everton tonight, Moyes is quoted as saying "Neither club were very keen on it," said Moyes. "But we are paid handsomely by Sky so we have to accept it. "But I hope it doesn't set a precedent. As a supporter, I would not be buying a ticket in such circumstances." Moyes added: "We have lots of supporters who travel over from Ireland and they will have booked flights and bought tickets". The Peoples club don't have supporters from outside Liverpool do they? Made me laugh... Hello by the way - been visiting the site for years and finally got round to a first post.
