  1. I'm speculating it'll go to about 37mil.

But I'd also no be surprised if City switched their attentions to Barkley if there's a chance of any Sterling deal dragging on.

You wish. Liverpool wont let him go for less than £45m plus add ons.

But I thought he wasn't going anywhere and we were not going to sell? How can our top football men at the club mislead us like this?

Why get hissy? sterling has likely (note I said likely) played his last game for the club and the 'not for sale' is not just for public consumption but also a shot across the bows of city and the like that we wont take less than £45m - £50m

  2. Liverpool will keep struggling until FSG and Brendan Rodgers stick to a plan

John Henry and FSG are running Liverpool superbly off the field but have yet to figure out the on-pitch element.

The second time I met John Henry, he was having trouble ordering his breakfast. We were in Liverpool's offices on Chapel Street, a few weeks after he and the rest of Fenway Sports Group had finally chased Tom Hicks and George Gillett out of town.

  3. You can only measure on what's happened, not on 'if Suarez had stayed / had the manager made better decisions / Sturridge been fit - things would have been better'. That's just ludicrous.

It wasn't news that Suarez was looking to move on - Ayre had at least 1 year's prior knowledge.

Rodgers was brought in as a relative rookie - so it can't be a shock if he's made mistakes.

Sturridge's injury troubles were a concern before he was bought - it's not a surprise they've resurfaced. Those were foreseeable risks and poorly mitigated.

If it's not Ayre's responsibility, then it surely can't be Pascoe and Marsh's either, can it?

You end up with a 'it's nobody's responsibility' situation and two blokes at the bottom of the pile pay the price (scapegoats).

Ayre is paid handsomely to accept responsibility (even if it's nominally). He's accepted none of it though.

Ayre's responsibility is in the administrative running of the club not, looking for a replacement for Suarez.

Are you sure you're not xerxes? You have the same subject obsessions as him.

  4. Yes, I know the situation... you've managed to clear a lot of debt which, if it continues will see you well into profit next year, but you're still describing 'a huge reduction in deficit' as profit, which it isn't.

From FSG's point of view, and assuming their ultimate goal is a return on their investment, this is the first year they've managed it (on a YoY basis). They aren't yet into actual profit from their initial investment (but most likely will be if they sell).

But it's still a moot point. It's hard to claim Ayre's done a stellar job as CEO. The vast improvement for FSG largely comes from increased TV revenues.

Nope. You're just being an arsehole like xerxes (funny that).

You claimed the 900,000 wasnt 'stellar' insinuating the club should have made a bigger profit.

I pointed out the 900,000 was a small profit because money was used to clear a debt, leaving 'only' 900,000 as 'profit.'

As regards ayre, given the huge amounts of tv money, Id say it stood to reason the 'vast improvement' comes from tv revenue. Despite this, the club has increased its commercial sponsorship many times over compared to before that incredibly knowledgable chap (in some people's opinion), parry, was at the club.

People like you and xerxes really are tiresome.

  5. Good grief @ after the loss was wiped out....

That's what profit is. Are you trying to pretend 900K profit is really 30m if you include 21m of outgoings)?

It's call the bottom line. 900K made, which given a revenue of 255m amounts to 'not stellar'.

Is very simplistic view you have.

The near £1m was the bit of the £45m (for arguments sake) after the debt is wiped out and after tax. Its because the debt (let's call it £45m for arguments sake) was 'cleared' that the profit was small.

If there's no debt next year (unlikely because the club will spend again so needs to be taken into account) then the profit would be a lot bigger ie approach the hypothetical £45m.

I appreciate you want to work hard trying to impersonate xerxes but please dont, one is enough.

  6. Arsenal have managed to coast along and keep their top 4 place because of our incompetence. We've spent more money than them over the last 5 or 6 years and had a better team to start with (2009). Our decline also gave City an easy in. City ended up fighting Tottenham to get that 4th CL place, not Liverpool.

Other than last season we haven't even challenged for the top 4 for the last 5 years so it's not just down to City emerging. We've only finished above Spurs once.

Yeah, I remember all the posts on here saying how shit a manager wenger was while keeping arsenal 'coasting along' in the top 4 and qualifying for Champions League for the last 14 seasons or so, spending little money in the process.

  7. £900,000 profit isn't really stellar is it? (the previous years were losses).

Admittedly, it's a step in the right direction, and the increased TV money and new stand should help too, but is that down to Ayre?

That was the 'profit' left after the loss was wiped out. You're a bit like xerxes with figures, arent you ie not very good?

  8. So, night of the long knives continues. I never rated marsh when he was in charge of the U21 \ U19s so I was more than surprised when he was promoted to first team duties.

And now pascoe has gone. Cant say Im surprised at that either. Plenty of people have called the ability of the coaching staff over the last 12 months yet now something is happening, its yet another example of rodgers throwing people under the bus?

You cant have it both ways can you, want the coaches to change but heap the blame on the manager? And what if it points to the club bringing in a DoF? Isnt this what some people have wanted?

Of course those who want rid of the manager wont be silenced by the current changes but, Im prepared to see how the new structure turns out.

Perhaps there's further news to come too?

  9.

Just been reading this. Im not certain whether sterling and his bitch are trying every trick in the book to engineer a move now or manchester really is keen on him.

Whatever, I think most fans now want him out of the club for a big fee. I dont think there's any going back and Liverpool must surely want a bidding war to develop to drive the price up.

It does show what a hypocritical bunch that lot down the east lancs are though. A few years ago they actually said in court at the heinze transfer wrangle that it was 'their club policy not to deal with Liverpool FC.' And yet, if this story is true, the very same club that said they 'dont deal' with us are now salavitating at the mere thought of signing sterling.

  10.

That's right. Say it again to digest it, "we've won nothing for 3 years under Rodgers, while they sacked the previous manager who reached two finals in one full season". Repeat.

Is your irrational blind faith to FSG and Rodgers based on a twisted interpretation of the "Liverpool way"?

I dont need to digest it. Im not an hysterical fanny unlike you. I realise how close we were to the title last season.

No doubt if rodgers had prioritised winning the league Cup, you'd have been whinging why is he concentrating on winning that?

I realise last season was shit. The one before wasnt. If he isnt performing next season, he wont last until the end.

Last time I saw a night cat, it was splattered across the road with its guts spewed out. Think on.

  11. Ancelotti and Klopp are World Class managers and winners. It is hard to digest it I know, but it can't be as hard as to compare them with the current manager.

Ah, so '3 years' to win a trophy means squat then and its just the actual man. Good of you to confirm this irrational hatred you have and not hide it away like a little child because we've won nothing for '3 years.'

  12. On the basis of THREE, THREE, THREE TROPHYLESS seasons and unlike his predecessor's(King Kenny Dalglish) "review" where he was dismissed after reaching TWO FINALS and WINNING OUR FIRST TROPHY IN 6 YEARS,

Brendiola Rodgemoli will be offered a FUCKING FOURTH SEASON. FRAUD.

Fuck you FSG you Hedge Fund Gangsters - Fuck you Fake Scouser Fraudster.

So if we get klopp, ancelotti or whoever and they dont win anything in their first 3 years, you want them booted as well? Be careful what you wish for because 18 months could become the new 3 years once you go down that road.

  13. Mine are a 4 since getting back into the habit of eating well with plenty of fruit and veg.

My mate has told me his are always nearly a 7 and has even found blood in them recently. He's only 22 so hopefully nothing serious but he still hasn't got himself to the docs.

Fucking hell, you need to get him to the docs pronto. It might only be piles which are bad enough but still needs to be looked (!) at. He might even have a nice lady doctor shoving her finger up his starfish.

  14. Black pub is fucking ace. I dont understand anyone who doesnt like it and that includes the missus. I love the big fat fuckers you get from a proper butchers not the supermarket shite.

And the best bit is when you bomb the bog a day later, yer shite's black as well!
