  1. The NOTW (spits) are running it on the website now as the lead story with the focus on Bellamy. They are also claiming the staff at the Hotel "were ordered to keep quiet about the disturbance." I guess that covers them if there are denials from within like the one printed above. They also have used a picture of Riise with a split head (from a game I hasten to add!) and blood pouring down, just because it was the only picture they had on hand no doubt! As usual this scummy rag is playing it all up for dramatic effect, but when will our players learn? I only hope this is mainly fabrication and the reports galvanise the team before Wednesday. (Apologies for sourcing that rag)
  2. Same in Thailand - where there is a massive fan base. The Chavs had there gear all over as soon as it is released. A couple of outlets have shirts which (I assume) they have bought via the web (one home shirt, one Euro green and white) - Even when they played in Bangkok there was not a shirt to be had (besides the saturated market for cheap fakes).
  3. I recall seeing that banner just recently on a DVD showing the Reds European history. It was clearly visible and readible in the stadium - me and my mates were laughing our nuts off.
  4. I also hear that the enquiry they made was on the understanding that the Council would finance the lion's share of the costs. Then as now, cap-in-hand paupers.
  5. http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2006/12/16/where_should_everton_move_that.html That will probably need to be cut and pasted. This article must be a wind-up right????? Also the thing is littered with inacuracies, incredible what you can come up with by twisting a few pertinant facts, and the bitters in the master class for delusion. Enjoy!!! :whatever:
  6. Understand what you mean and I certain wouldn't want Rafa to be at this game each week. But in this case, given the opposition push that unsavoury aspect of the game to excessive limits it may be one way to limit the impact of their excessive diving and time wasting.
  7. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A18186069 Although the source is a bit gay, there are some good points and it makes an interesting read. In Barca's favour however may be the fact they have played Premiership opposition quite a lot recently so will know what to expect. In our favour is the fact that we tend to fair well against teams that attack as it allows us the chance to exploit them at the back. They also seem to have an arrogance regarding this tie which will hopefully haunt them (a charade?) Would be great to have Sissoko back for the away leg (anyone know if that is possible?) and Rafa could score some points getting inside the ref's head (oo-eh) before the game(s) regarding their diving and acting. As long as we are within kicking distance come the 2nd leg, it is going to be another incredible night at Anfield.
  8. The teams we can face are: Barcelona, Celtic, Inter Milan, Lille, Porto, Real Madrid or Roma. Lille would probably be the easiest and one we should put away. Porto and Roma may well represent last years Benfica, Inter and Real Madrid should see us raise our game, whilst Celtic would scrap like crazy. With the right attitude and a good result in the away leg (which is first) we have enough to put them out. My feeling is we are going to land Barca, and that is the toughest we could get.
  9. I think that is correct but was assuming he was trying to balance the lack of finacial clout to compete with the real big spenders. If the deal with Dubai goes ahead I hope this continues.
  10. Cheers! Although that may be shortlive if I fes-up to being on the KT website previously. O_o
  11. Cheers. I don't get to follow the youngsters here so much unless they are high profile. Still appears to have been a policy to improve the youth system recently and if only a couple go to establish themselves it will be worthwhile. Will be interesting to see if that changes once / if the investment deal gets done. Cool, that's my second post then!
  12. The Reds being linked in the press with a couple of youngsters today. French teenage striker Gilles Sunu, 16, who plays for Chateauroux and also a more vague link to striker Ray Jones at QPR (along with Fulham and Wigan being mentioned as interested). Any one have any clue to as to how decent they are? We seem to be dong a lot of business of this type, maybe it bodes well for the future if Rafa can be as affective as Wenger in recognising and developing potential. First post by the way from all the way out here in Asia.
