  1. They've come unstuck psychologically. Just score at a decent ODI rate for 12-15 overs, keep your wickets in hand, then go hard to finish it off. No need to go down swinging in the opening overs.
  2. Ronchi takes Santner's delivery square on the chin and still completes the stumping. Well played that. Morgan gone. Doesn't look good.
  3. I thought I was going to get up this morning and watch a boss run chase to round off the best ODI series I can remember watching. Instead, I'm watching Dinoshark on cable. Life is shit sometimes.
  4. Bell's made 90 in a T20 and 111 in a County game since going back to Warwickshire, so there's positive signs coming from him. Could be playing himself into some form at just the right time. No idea what Ballance has been doing, but realistically he's only been out of form for three games after an outstanding year of batting in Tests. (I'm ignoring the World Cup, obviously, because it's a different format he's unsuited to and quite frankly I'd like to forget it ever happened). Even with failing at Bridgetown (where every fucker failed, don't forget) I think his average for the Windies series was still over 60. A couple bad games against NZ, but he's got time to shake it off and get sorted for the Ashes. I don't think we need to contemplate anything drastic.
  5. Root was mentally weak, technically weak and constantly vulnerable when he was getting pushed up and down the lineup. Since he got a settled spot in the middle order, he's been our best batsman and statistically getting up there among the best in the world. Whatever happens to the rest of the team, Root stays the fuck at five. Shunting him around again would be madness.
  6. Fantastic win. Chasing down 350 should not be that easy! Incredible series and it deserves to go down to the fifth game. Can't wait.
  7. So is it a coincidence that the shackles come off, the blockers and nudgers get dropped, and suddenly Eoin Morgan transforms back into a first rate one-day batsman again after being dogshit for as long as two years? Mentalities flow up and down the order. He looks fluid, comfortable and deadly to bowlers.
  8. Damn near 10-an-over power play. Who are you, and what have you done with England's openers? Edit: 100 up off 63 balls and Hales bowled! All action this game.
  9. Basically, yeah. It's fairly shit production/direction in my view. The bit at the end was crammed in like they forgot they were supposed to film it. They wrapped it, shook hands and kissed arses, then somebody said: "Uh, wait. Did we forget to kill somebody?" "Hunh?" "The pretty one everyone likes. Weren't we supposed to kill him?" "Fuck. Somebody tell Harrington we need him for five more minutes. Cameras!" I'm a very casual viewer and never got the love-in for this one, but that was well below their normal standards. It had no dramatic force at all. Smacks of a team who've bought too deep into their own press, which to be fair happens quite a lot.
  10. Dane Cook is paid millions of dollars every year to be funny. He isn't funny. Everyone knows he isn't funny. And yet, he still gets paid. There was a soul sold in there somewhere. Got to be.
  11. God yes. How the fuck is he paid to be in films? You were funny for about six minutes in 1991 and produced nothing since. Just fuck off you extended bout of constipation.
  12. Does sound bad. Both players taken to hospital. ------------------ T20 Blast: Surrey pair injured at Arundel in on-field collision Surrey's T20 Blast game against Sussex at Arundel has been suspended after two fielders collided on the outfield. Surrey players Rory Burns and Moises Henriques were hurt in the 19th over of Sussex's innings. Umpires Jeremy Lloyds and Alex Wharf immediately halted play to allow them to be given treatment by medical staff. Three ambulances arrived on the outfield and both players were taken away in the emergency vehicles about 30 minutes later. Journalist Bruce Talbot, who works for the Press Association and was covering the game, said it was one of the worst accidents he had seen at a cricket match. "I have been watching county cricket for 20 to 25 years and I have never seen an incident like this before," he told BBC Radio 5 live. "Within seconds it was evident this was a serious incident." No announcement has yet been made about whether the match will resume on Sunday following the incident. More to follow.
  13. Doesnt matter how old or how mature I get. Seeing someone inside edge a cricket ball directly into his nadgers never stops being funny.
  14. Agreed. Rain was a bastard today, but the future looks sunny. Bodes well for the rest of the series, too -- we've got three more of these!
