After an impressive performance for the French ’Espoirs’, coach Raymond Domenech has heaped praise on Liverpool midfielder Alou Diarra.
Diarra, currently on loan with French side Le Havre, impressed during a recent 1-0 victory over Cyprus, laying on the pass for future Liverpool star Florent-Sinama Pongolle to net the winner.
And Domenech has likened the former Bayern Munich midfielder to Patrick Vieira, believing him to have the same qualities as the Arsenal midfielder.
He said: "Alou has talent, it is undenaible.
"Anyway, when the Germans are interested in a Frenchman, it is not by chance, especially if he plays at Louhans-Cuiseaux.
"Today, Gerard Houllier trusts him. That is also a sign. When I saw him for the first time, I thought it was Patrick Vieira’s twin.
"I have Alou at a younger age, so I will settle the red card problem. Anyway, he has the same ability as Pat to accelerate, and to recuperate.
"Moreover, he is more outstanding in the air at the same age."
