Sporting Lisbon winger linked

Reports today are linking Brendan Rodgers with a summer swoop for Sporting Lisbon's Spanish winger Diego Capel.

The former Sevilla player could be available for a fee of around £10m due to Sporting's financial woes but the Reds would face stern competition for the player's signature from French giants Marseille.

Spanish international Capel began his career at Barcelona before moving on to Sevilla where he spent seven years before joining Sporting in 2011.
