James Milner and Jordon Ibe have given Jurgen Klopp a much needed injury boost ahead of the Reds trip to Manchester City this weekend by returning to training, while skipper Jordan Henderson is also on the way back.
Both Milner and Ibe were forced to withdraw from international duty with minor injuries but they’re back in contention for the weekend and their availability presents Klopp with a nice selection dilemma as some key attacking players seem to be coming into form recently.
Philippe Coutinho has three goals in his last two Premier League games and also bagged a pair in a behind closed doors friendly against Wolves last week, while fellow Brazilian Roberto Firmino also found the net in that game.
19 year old Ibe has looked electric in recent weeks and will be difficult to leave out, while Milner’s experience and knowledge of his former team-mates could be invaluable. The man whose place appears to be most under threat is Adam Lallana, who has so far been an integral part of Klopp's Premier league line ups.
Lallana has been on international duty with England and started in the loss to Spain last week, but he struggled to impose himself on the game, as has often been the case for Liverpool this season.
With Henderson also close to a return and Daniel Sturridge finally back on the training field there appears to finally be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel on the injury front.
