when he was substituted last night my first words where 'sell him'. how the fuck can he be pissed off with rafa? he was on for 60 minutes and done nothing. ok, ngog isn't much better but it's the only option we had upfront. (seen as rafa won't play babel up there) it looked to me as if he said 'i bet it's me' and shaking his head at rafa's decision and then he carried on shaking his head. who are you mate? you've come to anfield 2 years after your career ended and want to be billy big balls? fuck off. that's not the liverpool way.

So there's the number 7 shirt that starts this off, and it's way too early to say anything solid about, but does anyone else think that over time Keane is going to be reminding people of Kenny? As bold guesswork goes, this must be at the very edge of it, but it won't leave my mind so I thought I'd see if anyone has thought the same thing. And of course, to avoid being absolutely slaughtered I'll try my best to explain as best as I can what I'm on about here : He can score goals, of course. Ok, but that's not enough. What gets me is his awareness on the pitch, and his ability to dance his way into the oppositions defence and then set others up. The one that comes to mind is the 2nd goal against Everton. He gets the ball from Kuyt, and then runs into the Everton defence and looks kind of lost, but before they know it, there's 3 of them around him and he just flicks the ball past all of them to Kuyt. Before he does it though he doesn't look like he's sure what he's doing at all, but it seemed like with the way he actually passed it through to Kuyt, he knew exactly what he was doing. It's the trickery of it that sticks in my head the most, and how effective it actually was. Something like that is where I see the comparisons, and not just because of that one thing, but because you get the sense with him sometimes that he's got a ton of those type of tricks that he can pull off at any moment, and it's the unpredictability and skill, that if brought to life in that No.7 shirt for Liverpool, could be one of the main things that makes this true. I'm not saying here that I think he can fully match him at all, don't get me wrong. The two main things that I can't see he has is the strength that Kenny had, or the ability to score some of the long range goals that Kenny did as regularly as he did, or maybe not much at all. His creativity to bring about a totally unexpected type of attack though, to set people up with passes that seem to appear out of nowhere, and potential to be a regular goalscorer for us, it really makes me think it's possible. So am I mad? Or is there a chance of this being true, or partly true over time? At least if I'm totally wrong you guys can put me right. As a final note, Kenny is my all time fave Liverpool player and the one I respect the most, so I've not just lightly decided to suggest this out of nowhere. It's been on my mind for quite a bit.
