  1. PARRY HONOURED WITH DEGREE Services to Football???? Rick Parry will be rewarded for his services to football on Monday morning when he will receive an honorary degree from the University of Liverpool. The Reds Chief Executive will take his place alongside the likes of Elvis Costello, and Jose Manuel Barroso - the President of the European Commission - as well as over 4000 students at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall where an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws will be conferred upon him. Parry, who has been at the helm of the club he supported as a boy for over 10 years, is delighted to be receiving recognition from a University that is so close to his heart. He said: "I am very proud to have received such a prestigious honour and am extremely grateful to the University of Liverpool for awarding me the honorary degree," "Having graduated at Liverpool University in 1976, and in a city that means so much to me, this will be a very special occasion.
