  1. A lovely, stylish player that was injury prone before we paid 25m for him, was injured when we got him and was injured most of the time after we got him.

Looked good, did a few turns, appealed to the odd lunatic who has his favourites where style over substance matters, took about 8 games to get up to speed after an injury and then got injured again.

Will live in the memory of 99% of fans for about 6 months and a lifetime for those who adored him.

    25m plus wages wasted.

Bought as a replacement for Wijnaldum, ended as the new Fabio Auerelio.

Anyway the little shits kicking off the other night are scumbags just like the scumbags who use marching season to smash their own neighbourhood up.

    Agreed comrade.

It has fuck all to with ideology, protest or history.

Just a symptom of the regression of values , respect, society, locality and basic criminality.

The righteous fight has long gone, it's not about ideology or justice anymore.

There's no heartfelt political agenda anymore.

No appetite for a United Ireland unless there's a quid to be made at the top or a drug ratline at the bottom.

That said, I'll not be taking lectures from nasty fucking right wingers on the subject of Ireland or the troubles.

Nothing to see here. Just some casual racism from a travel company who run Everton fans to away games and leave from outside the Brick Pub. The pub are trying to disassociate themselves from the travel company, suggesting they aren’t involved with them, but at the same time trying to defend this by saying the guy will have tweeted it out of frustration at people who shouldn’t have tickets (not regular fans) attending aways.

The best season they both managed for staying fit was 21/22 when they shared the games....Matip mostly playing league and Konate europe and cups.

Konate is boss - but he is made of wafers and it is a worry.

    All true.

Which is why replacing Matip, who is old and also made of wafers should be top priority this summer.

  5. For me, unless anyone is really agitating for a move, the only area of the team that needs strengthening is CH.

Klopp has left his successor in a fantastic position.

Adrian, Thiago and Matip are all players we should thank for their service and wave goodbye to.

Unless Mo really wants to go to Saudi this summer and Kelleher is happy to stay then the only real issue for the new man is to add strength and reliability at Centre Back.

I'm not paid millions to scout someone out and I'm not going to be signing any contracts, but I'm sure that with the funds available and only needing one excellent player, we can do that.

Replacing Adrian as 3rd choice keeper shouldn't be too taxing.

  6. Of all the issues facing the club in a post-Klopp era, selling Konate and replacing him is about number 36 on the list.

The obvious answer is, get someone wholly more reliable than Matip and you play him more sparingly.

    Konate is excellent.

Maybe give him a 1 year job on reduced terms - he could be useful as 4th choice, especially with Gomez looking much more at home as a full back.

But that said i'd rather we got a younger player in and looked to the future...it probably isn't a goid idea to have 2 centre halves in first team squad who are both 33, which is what both he and VVD will be come start of next season and one of course who is coming back from yet another major injury.

He is a brilliant player but his time here has sadly been blighted by injury after injury and it is probably one too far this latest.

Totally agree with all that, apart from giving him another year.

We're not a charitable convalescence home and we found a Ragnar Klavan and an Endo and I daresay we can find another experienced and competent player to do  a job for 2 or 3 seasons if that's what we decide is needed.

I'd rather we looked to the now and the future and bought a CH aged 23-25 that can play now and be moulded to be VVD's successor.

    Matip is not Milner.

I thought he was outstanding today along with Bradley and Diaz , we have bought an absolute star in this lad

Exactly that Comrade. It's not often I get a chance to watch a game with my old Dad and he is hypercritical of us on the basis he wants us to win every tackle, be brilliant in possession and shield our goal from the halfway line and his three picks for having a v good game were the same as yours. And he's a tough crowd.

Don't get that- the contract payments haven't been made so surely it's null and void.

    No.

Null and void only applies to us winning things.

    It's shifting sands criteria mind.

    Is anybody dying?

If so and the Redshite are top of the league, then THAT is null and void.

    Is a trophy on offer?

Have the Redshite won it, either during people dying or in the period they've had a points deduction?

If so, that's null and void.

Have the Redshite won a trophy on penalties and not in 90 minutes, even though nobody was dying?

You have to win it within the 90 minutes timescale of a match,so that doesn't count and null and void.

Was a match won by buying players with speed and agility and who can finish? Especially if it's the Redshite?

Nope, pace goals don't count, that's not purist football,so that's null and void too.

    Were inhalers and PED's involved?

If an unsubstantiated article appears once in a Russian newspaper written by a lunatic, then that's obviously true, so every trophy won by the Redshite either 5 years before or after is null and void.

Have the Redshite won a trophy during Klopp's last season in charge of the Redshite?

That's null and void because everyone, especially Sky and the corrupt PL cartel have all agreed it from the day he announced he was leaving.

Everton right in the mess for systematic cheating and flagrantly abusing the FFP rules that they signed up for?

Everyone else's fault and if they do go down, it shouldn't count and they should be reinstated and the entire season be called null and void.

    Have I got it right?

    "allegations of an historical nature"

Is that a euphemism for a particular offense, or range of offenses, or does it simply refer to things that happened long ago?

No. It means he dressed up as Ian Paisley one day, Martin Luther the next, King Henry VIII on the Wednesday and as a retarded, backward, intolerant, apron wearing 16th century bonfire building cunt on Thursday,  Friday and Saturday. So basically in his own clobber for 3 days and then he had the Sunday off to ask for forgiveness from his own version of a sky wizard that allows him to do what the fuck he wants to do.

Now we're talking Premier league. This fella will show a few of the chancers on this thread how it's done.

There's no way that the Tories will waste his charisma and vote pull up in Scotland, he'll be given full endorsement for Uxbridge and South Ruislip and no doubt get voted in with a 10k majority.

Don't be worrying too much comrade.

The worst that can happen is that they reintroduce internment without trial, a Diplock court just for you and then straight to the Tower.

On the plus side, the whip round on here should get you a great statue and a decent plot in Milltown Cemetery.

  14. It's still my fervent hope that Usyk unifies the titles and knocks that tinker Fury on his arse so at least this generation of Boxing fans has a Heavyweight champion that they can look up to and admire, the same as many generations before who saw Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, Ali, Frazier etc.

You look at this crop of Fury, Wilder, Joshua and others (excluding Usyk who's a proper fighter) and you'd  ask which one of these wouldn't a peak Holyfield beat, never mind a peak Lewis.

    £20 it is.

I reckon there’s a real chance Joshua gets chinned tonight.

£20 isn't actually too bad for that card of fights.

    Cheers.

And I'm hoping you're right, Id laugh until Xmas if Joshua got chinned.

Yep. Joshua gets tagged and he loses 50% of his desire right away.

And people will pay, what is it? 50 quid? for the privilege of watching a poor mans Gary Mason take on a fella who's having his 2nd actual fight under Boxing rules.

I'd laugh my bollocks off if Joshua got knocked spark out.

It’s a dangerous fight and he’s silly for taking it. Wins and nobody gives a fuck, loses and he’s done.

    Indeed it is.

My instincts tell me it will be dancing at distance for a few rounds, as soon as Joshua gets hit he will hold and spoil and there will be fans feeling short changed after Joshua wins a points decision.

  18. As for the Joshua fight, does anybody think it's actually meaningful or just an exercise in money making?

I have to say  I don;t like Joshua, for me his idea of his own self worth far exceeds his actual achievements, he wins..? Grand, beat Fury or Usyk then.

He loses, off you pop down the ladder and good riddance to nothing that will be missed.

  19. I watched the Matt Macklin interview on Sky earlier and he was making out that Ball beating Vargas would be an 'upset'.

Yet Ball is 8/15 fav. I don't know whether that's daft mug money or not.

I like Macklin, decent fighter and a ood pundit.

So Vargas at 13/8 it is.
