  1. Crystal Palace have appointed Patrick Vieira to succeed Roy Hodgson as the Premier League club's manager.

The former Arsenal captain emerged as Palace's preferred candidate after a lengthy process since Hodgson announced he was leaving the club on 18 May.

The 45-year-old Frenchman has signed a three-year contract with the Eagles, who finished 14th last season.

"I am really excited to have this opportunity to return to the Premier League," said Vieira.

Previously he had spent two and a half years in charge of Major League Soccer side New York City after beginning his coaching career in the academy at Manchester City, where he ended his stellar playing career in 2011.

He secured two play-off appearances at New York City and achieved seventh- and fifth-placed finishes during his two full seasons at Nice.

I just don't see why the press and the opposition let them get away with it. Time and again these cunts are wiping the slate clean and they shouldn't be able to get away with it.

I quite agree and I despair sometimes that we seem to lack a strong opposition, I gave up on most media ages ago.

The tories and especially Johnson do seem to have a decent teflon coating though.

The point I'm making is they're trying to spin it that this is some sort of libertarian appointment, as you say it was happening anyway. They're doing what johnson did when he became PM and dissociated himself with all the preceding years of Tory government. He created a fresh start and that's what they're trying to do here.

Governments spin, that's what they do. Politicians attach themselves to anything in order to gain votes, doesn't matter how tasteless it is. Most people can see it for what it is.

I doubt they're swinging many voters minds with their antics.

  4. Governments taking credit for things, well that's a shock.

I thought the data was clearly showing that the vaccine is working, I think even Hancock was pretty confident on a 19th July opening up.

Of course nothing in certain in life and all it takes is a much nastier variant to fuck things up.

  5. Congratulations

Wish my daughter and her husband to be had the sense to select this option, although they've had to cancel twice (covid) they still are having a big wedding next year. I still haven't written my speech despite the extra time.

Bosch was easy watching and very enjoyable. Hardly top end stuff though.

I'll take easy watching and enjoyable in a world of utterly shit tv shows. The bar is quite low these days.

I coursed have made a list of things that annoyed me about the show but life is too short, not everything will hit my buttons. I imagine the books will be better as they generally are.

Fuck, their game against Spain on Tuesday will be like a fucking planking contest, won't it?

By the way, is that bigotry or just banter @Poster?

Banter, you are talking about two teams tactics not the entire fan set.

Surprised you needed clarification. Read this thread tomorrow for the bigotry.
