  1. Dunno mate, isn’t somebody with links to him one of the decision makers there? Also they went for Wenger when virtually nobody even knew who he was, I’m pretty convinced Buvac is the next Arsenal manager.

I think one of Dortmunds former chief scout or head of recruitment has taken a job at Arsenal. I do not see how that trumps a 20 year association with Klopp though. There is also the language barrier during actual games hence why Buvac was rarely if ever seen barking orders from our dug out etc. Stranger things have happened though although Klopp and Buvac had several fallings out in the past. They always kissed and made up in the end.

  2. A former top midfielder is commenting on a current midfielder's technique. Management has nothing to do with it. I'm not saying Henderson has no qualities, I'm saying Henderson is bad at turning with the ball, a very observable weakness that Gullit has correctly underlined.

Stop getting mad every time someone criticizes a Liverpool player. It's embarrassing.

I am saying I trust the judgement of our manager rather than an albeit excellent ex player who won the sum of 1 FA Cup.

It is laughable you say stop getting mad everytime some one critises a Liverpool player when you criticise every comment you do not like. There is only one mad person here and it aint me. Why are you trying to turn it personal into challenging something you have said. My comments are directed to Gullits comments. Then you jumped in to which I replied. But whatever. I have noticed that is your MO.

  3. If it’s a new job, I can’t fathom why he wasn’t able to finish the season here. He won’t get close to a European Cup at Arsenal, if he goes there.

Klopp will not counternance any dissent or disruption or someone going through the motions. I do not think it is a case of going to Arsenal and taking detailed Liverpool knowledge with him that is the issue. We would normally only play Arsenal twice a season. It is the complete disruption of having someone not pulling their weight and really wanting to be elsewhere. Shades of Countiho if you will.

  4. Well, perceptions are funny. I always felt his main problem was that he was announced as a solution for our problems in defence (and came with the accompanying price tag), a VVD of his transfer window if you will, but had a really poor first season and turned out to have been a major disappointment. He also comes across as arrogant and generally has an off putting  personality, so it's not an easy man to warm to. But under Klopp, he has mostly been good to very good, with occasional bad game, pretty much like all very good defenders at this level, who have to face top forwards every week. So a very reliable pan which burns your steaks once or twice a year.

If you look at VVD since 1 January, he was mostly excellent but I don't think he made fewer big mistakes than Lovren, you can argue he was at fault at Swansea, let himself be tricked into a last kick of the game penalty against Spurs, in a massive game which would have cemented third for us, he was at fault for the City early goal, played everybody offside for the goal which allowed West Brom back in the game which should have secured fourth, I think there was a big mistake at Palace which went unpunished and yet, this is all taken as it should be, everybody makes mistakes and centre backs' mistakes are frequently costly, because he has otherwise been massive. Lovren had three excellent back to back games in the CL, two against arguably the best attack in the world, but again, he is shite, he fools you into thinking he is good until he makes a mistake (which defender doesn't?) etc. Improving on him would require discovering /locating another VVD, or paying the appropriate fee. And this player would still make occasional mistake just as VVD makes them.

Think you make some excellent points here.

  5. Even UEFA are in on the omens!

UEFA suffered an embarrassing blunder when their official website crowned Liverpool Champions League winners weeks before they take on Real Madrid in the competition's final.

Jurgen Klopp's side reached the showpiece match in Kiev on May 26 with a 7-6 aggregate win over Roma in the semi-finals. Standing in their way will be a Real Madrid side looking for their third consecutive Champions League crown but UEFA appear to have already backed the Reds for success.

A banner at the top of the 'history' section on the UEFA site reads 'Season 2017/18 Winner Liverpool' alongside a background of images featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino.

People have been quick to point out the error on social media with one fan joking 'football is scripted like WWE' while others, perhaps slightly excessively, questioned UEFA's integrity.

It is not the first time UEFA have been accused of rigging the competition though after questions were also raised over the semi-final draw.

They were down as champions weeks before they take on Real Madrid in the final in Kiev

Fans claimed proceedings were rigged after Roma allegedly advertised tickets for a match with Liverpool before the teams were paired together.

A screenshot of an email sent to Roma season ticket holders on April 12 appeared to show a link to buy tickets for a match on May 2 between Roma and Liverpool.

In the draw on April 13, the Italian side were duly paired with the Premier League club, and because Roma were drawn out second, they played the second leg at home on May 2.

The email was said to have been sent out because of a 'technical problem of Roma's ticketing portal partner' when the club was making 'ticketing tests'.

  6. I'm thinking back & it used to be a team pot didn't it ?

The Yanks probably signed the £750k per man agreement while sniggering behind their hands.

I am assuming they actually know we are in the final , can you get Flashscore in the US , Rev ?

It probably still is a team pot but the Daily Manc is probably just averaging out between the squad so thicko mancunians can fume about us in the final.

  7. It's the answer to our biggest problem. We need a top class addition to join our group of forwards but he won't be able to play every game and all top class players want to play every game. I know, let's sign a top class forward £50m who physically can't play every game. It works of Football Manager. Maybe Ledley King can do a job at the back too.

Or just sign a brilliant prospect like Pulisic.

This. I am a boring tit apparently for saying this. I would be made up if we bring in couple of big names and I am sure Klopp will look to do this. I do not think he is bringing just anyone in though just his targets.

  8. The Mirror are saying that our lads are on £750k per man to win , surely that's not right is it ?

Once won the Europa League on FM with Walsall & paid out 3 times in bonuses what I got in winnings.

Less than a million each for a game that gaurantees the club £71m from the competition alone. I think it is on.

  9. I think he goes with Henderson, Gini and Milner for the final, but if Can is fit he will be on the bench. I can’t see Klopp cutting his nose off to spite his face.

Can best chance for the final is going to be to make it to the bench. And judging by Klopps comments today Lallana has more chance as he trained yesterday in Rome. Can does not return to training until they have a chat about his back on Monday.

  10. He won the FA Cup if that helps

Oh 6 games from greatness then. Did you forget the Rudi Rudi whats the score chant. I love it how posters like 3 Stacks et al get out of their tree because one expresses an opinion but whatever. I still think he is talking bollocks and I prefer to go with Klopps judgement rather than a 1 time FA Cup winning manager.

  11. He has a reputation rightly or wrongly as very self centred and 'Stevie Me'. I think he's on a hiding to nothing. Read he wants Skrtel as one of his first signings.

That Stevie me is a manc jibe. Got to hand it to the lad he is not afraid to take on a challenge. Not interested in Scottish football but I wish him well in this new chapter of his career.

  12. I love Klopp. He keeps defying those people who say you have to have a squad full of £50m+ players to challenge for trophies. He stays loyal to the players people say he should bin off because they are not good enough. He continues to get the best out of his players. He will only spend big money on a player if he sees that player bringing something extra to the team.

  13. Haha yeah, top midfielder doesn't know shit about a very specific aspect of playing midfield. Ok. Pundits usually talk shit when they speak generally and in cliches, but on technical things like this they know far more then you or me.

Especially you clearly, because that's been a very noticeable weakness in Henderson's game throughout his career.

Haha. You clearly have not got a clue. Tell me how successful as a manager this top midfielder Gullit was.

  14. Faria speaks reasonably good English. Buvac is still reported to hardly speak any English despite being here for over 2 years now. While lack of English is not an obstacle there is a big difference between a coach physically pulling players into the positions he wants on the training ground to shout at them to go where he wants from the touchline in a game.

I really cannot believe Buvac is in line for the managers job at Arsenal especially after 20 years being Klopps side kick. If he is unveiled there I am convinced it will be in some coaching capacity and not as manager.
