I check the Size? and Offspring sites, on a daily basis, for new trainees, but haven’t bought a new pair so far this decade.

    Pairs I've bought this decade...

    Training '76 Spezials

    Blue Overdubs

    Navy Overdubs

    Navy Super Sambas

    White/Black Kicks

    Which ones?

The new Scotland home kit is awful.

I like the navy/light blue & the tan Bermudas & a couple of pairs of the Samba OG.

I can't afford any though so it's just window shopping.

There's a few pairs I like at the moment but they're not one of them

Still not as bad as the pig's arse they've made of the Scotland strip for the Euros.

The objective stats, as you call them, are basically the most useless. It's just counting stuff. Truly those stats are the ones where if you watched every game, you could approximate to a good level how many goals a player has, for example.

Conversely, there are stats that go beyond what you're watching, but are also additive to what you're watching.

Think it's what they're showing is the real issue.

Not at all, Nunez has been absolutely brutal the last few weeks & needs to sort his finishing out. I've said as much on here several times in the last few days.

I don't need xG stats to see that though, I just watch the game.

Seems pretty obvious to me, it's a good chance to score

Stats don't tell everything but you've obviously decided they ha e no relevance at all.

I'm not a stat person at all but you can certainly take objective things like goals, set pieces & possession quite seriously.

This new & subjective stuff does not interest me in the slightest.

Nunez is actually a good finisher, it's the stats guy who is imputing stuff wrong.

My point had nothing to do with Nunez.

What constitutes a 'big chance' is subjective, regardless of who is playing or whether they score.

He was konates man playing on their left side. He was to be handled by Bradley, konate or endo & Macca if they're helping out. It would have been mental for vvd to come across because he's have left the back. He's not a one man defence. Bradley and konate both went to the ball and didn't get within 5 yards of it. Making them simple to bypass and leaving behind other players.

There was nobody at the back though.

Van Dijk could have easily come across and helped out IMO. He was only about 6yds away from the Palace boy who was standing on his own.

We'll definitely have to agree to disagree about that one. The goal has nothing to do with him on Sunday (Bradley, Macca and konate all contributed to that). He was good at old Trafford. Our defence has been shaky for about 2 years.

So their striker is standing in yards of space in the box when the cut back was made, both our centre backs are standing about like spare pricks at a whore's wedding & it's nothing to do with one of them?

    I'm not having that.

He had a poor night on thursday. When's the rest of the time he's been bad? He's wasn't great on Sunday, but he was very far from being our problem.

I think the whole defence haa gone to shit since the international break & he's the one who holds things together. I thought he was poor at Old Trafford, really poor on Thursday night & was (partly) at fault for Palace's goal.

I think he looks very shaky at the moment unfortunately. Clearly he's not alone by any means & I agree, he's probably our 0player of the season regardless.

The misses were a conclusion to a panicked performance. We passed the ball out of play more times this week than we have in 5 years. I've already said he set the tone, he wouldn't have allowed that sloppiness take hold.

Why did he let it take hold in early 2021, when the likes of Burnley & Everton were beating us at home during a wretched spell?

If he had said he was a great finisher and we were missing that aspect of his game that would be a good point.

Mane took every challenge personally. Deeply. And held a grudge. That aspect we do not have in any player right now.

We were the better side in the two league games. We didn't need anyone to take anything personally, we just needed someone to stick the ball in the net.

We are now at the potential crisis stage though & need players to stand up although we had one or two full blown crisis when Mane was playing for us so I'm not absolutely certain he would have solved it on his own.

This has been a very good week for Sadio's legacy. Many of the mentality monsters are still here but they have looked and performed like they're scared.

I've always thought Sadio was our physical leader, he set the tone, straight from the kick off he was smashing someone, now we look like conceding from every kick off.  He would have filled his boots this week with the chances we created.

Mane used to miss fucking loads of sitters.

If we're pining for forner players, Rush or Fowler would have been a better bet.

Do you expect him to be imperious in every game for the whole season?

No but I do expect people to mention his massive drop in form on a Liverpool forum when results go tits up.

He’s being criticised for playing poorly, just as he’s been praised for playing well.

    This.

He's been absolutely shite the last 2/3 weeks & is being called out alongside pretty much every other player.

Up until that point, he was imperious.
