Pacheco left on a free transfer to AD Alcorcon in the Spanish 2nd division. Shame, always liked him and thought he had a big future a few years back. Good luck lad YNWA

No way are we done (not that I'd be disappointed if we are) yet, this season will be the opposite, instead of us switching the lights off and fucking off at 4pm, We'll be there until 1am still ringing people, getting work permits sorted and brokering deals. We will get one more attacker and a keeper, plus maybe the creative midfielder. Well.... that's the dream at least :)

The statement that we can compete with any club for any player and that we have the funds to get us back to the top seem to be less believable the closer we get to the close of the transfer window. There is talent out there and plenty of quality that we could potentially attract but we seem to be doing loan deals now? We've watched the teams below strengthen, our rivals for EL and CL have strengthened or are stronger than us even without strengthening and those 2-3 who are on another level to us just keep spending and improving and strengthening. We have added quality to the squad and now need additions and starters, quality 1st team players, to push us on to the next level ..Brendan himself has said as much. But it's not happening. Are the conspiracy theorists right? Are we lowballing and offering low wages knowing we won't sign players but keeping fans happy that we've 'bid' for players? Does nobody want to come here? Are we targeting the wrong players? I'm not sure what's going on

Sell absolutely sell. He needs to be gone solely for the way he has acted and disrecpected the club, fans, shirt and everything our club stands for. We need the money and if it was spent wisely we could have £80-90m (including current funds) to spend on players. Yes we've had issues attracting players to our club but perhaps we'll continue our great run of January window extravaganzas. I would happily take a player plus cash swap from RM too but needs to be very soon, not last day...and also who in their team would come, that's the other issue. Yes Suarez is an incredible player but he went too far this summer and he will probably do more crazy shit and get another ban, we need to sell at anywhere around £60m and let him be someone else's problem.

We could definitely do a lot better and I think not having a DoF/competent negotiator is really hampering us. I, like most on here, have no real insight into exactly the chain of command and how exactly finances, bids, negotiations etc are carried out and who has the final say on what etc. I really feel we need one person in charge, doing the job Ayre is doing but who is not Ayre. Rodgers is great at the football side but as far as identifying & negotiating for targets and dealing with the 'business' side of things , I think it's about time FSG rectify this.

He may indeed think that and I hope he's right. Creating chances doesn't seem to be and hasn't been our problem for the last 2-3 seasons.... nobody hits the woodwork more than us, no opposition keepers have world class games at other clubs as often as they do against us. We need to finish our chances. I think Sturridge has certainly helped in this regard and I can see Aspas, Henderson and Coutinho getting close to 20 between them, or I'd hope so. Willian certainly is a creator but his goal record hasn't been that great. 20 goals in 140 games at Shakhtar doesn't scream goalscorer but then again Brendan and the coaching staff could well work on this and perhaps he'll add more goals to his game? I don't know, for the money (not my money I know) I'd like to be buying clinical finisher or goalscoring midfielder, I feel chance creation is not one of our faults or an area in which we lack, just tucking the buggers away is the problem.

Yeah I suppose that's actually a fair comment. He's our 3rd attempt at a big signing but you're right, not 3rd choice.

I really hope we don't miss out on our 3rd (and 3rd choice) marquee signing of the summer. I really feel we have some cracking players and could have a very good season, but would love for us to bring in some extra quality because we do lack quality in certain areas. Not sure he's worth the money and he's not the goalscoring LW/LF that Brendan said he was after, but he certainly creates chances and would be a class singing. Feel we need more finishers and scorers though as opposed to creators and makers.... however, would still LOVE to see this lad in an LFC shirt.
