I'd already met Colin Montgomery earlier in the day, and watched Sergio Garcia play first thing, so I was on something of a high.

Phil Babb was one of the magazine backers and they put on a party with a free bar somewhere in the town - I was smashed and found Babb and told him he was one of my favourite ever players. The Son/foul/VAR thing - one thing empty stadiums has highlighted is the squealing by some players when they do down. Son is a chief culprit. What a prick. It was so bad I actually found myself rooting for Man Utd. What a shitty fucking season.

Also - I didn't think so at the time, but Cavani has been a pretty good move for them.

Finally, VAR - I'm sure Salah spoke out against it after a game, though I forget which one. It'll still be here next season, and I can't see stadiums being more than half full, so I reckon next season will be as shit as this. (Insert unhappy emoji here.)

The biggest game of the season and we didn't start the two big summer signings. I don't know what to make of that.

Also, Benitez had been making noise in the run up to the game about Thiago being key to a good performance and win... and he gets left on the bench. 

I also feel sorry for Shaqiri getting thrown into games with barely minutes to go. 

Are we going to keep playing three up front? I feel like we're currently wasting two positions with Firmino and Mane, when we've got the world's largest collection of midfielders.

Man City will win the league.

Chelsea will win the Champions League.

Man Utd will win the Europa League and finish second in the league.

I will drink myself into oblivion to numb the pain.

Plus, it's another season without a trophy for them.

Plus, they've spent an eye popping amount of money on players and a manager to get absolutely nowhere.

Plus their fans are all angry, racist, child throwing orcs.

Plus they have to Ronseal their stadium every summer so it doesn't disintegrate in the rain.

Dark Encounter (2019) - low budget sci fi/horror about a young girl who goes missing. Set in the US midwest - but shot entirely in Yorkshire with British actors, which is remarkable when you watch it. Anyway, I thought it was decent if you like sci fi, with nice special effects and good acting and - without giving the game away - a bit of a tough-to-watch last quarter. 6.5/10.

Thought Shaq was good when he came on. I know he's not everyone's favourite player (Hello Jurgen!) but I think he's ace. What must other teams think when they see Shaqiri coming on? He's still a big name. I'm guessing this will probably be his last season here. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up next.
