You must have been really hammered to say something like that.

I'd already met Colin Montgomery earlier in the day, and watched Sergio Garcia play first thing, so I was on something of a high.

Later on that night I bumped into a lad I knew from Wirral council - literally, he was asleep on a patch of grass/garden where we were staying (I think it was the university). Now HE was hammered.

  2. In my old job circa 2005/6 I went to St Andrews for the Open. There was a magazine called Golf Punk who'd I'd arranged a freebie visit round Merseyside for. Phil Babb was one of the magazine backers and they put on a party with a free bar somewhere in the town - I was smashed and found Babb and told him he was one of my favourite ever players. His reply: "That's great, thanks - have a good night".

    And I did.

I’ve only ever played golf once - crazy golf whilst on holiday in North Wales as a kid. I couldn’t hit the ball straight, got embarrassed and soiled my underpants.

That's actually the kind of review Dave is looking for.

Crouchy is ace. Loved that he wound up Spuds fans by admitting Liverpool were the team he's the most fond of despite also playing for Spurs and coming through their youth team.

Nobody likes Tottenham, not even their ex players or managers. What's to like? A club with no redeeming features.

  5. The Son/foul/VAR thing - one thing empty stadiums has highlighted is the squealing by some players when they do down. Son is a chief culprit. What a prick. It was so bad I actually found myself rooting for Man Utd. What a shitty fucking season.

Also - I didn't think so at the time, but Cavani has been a pretty good move for them.

Finally, VAR - I'm sure Salah spoke out against it after a game, though I forget which one. It'll still be here next season, and I can't see stadiums being more than half full, so I reckon next season will be as shit as this. (Insert unhappy emoji here.)

  6. The biggest game of the season and we didn't start the two big summer signings. I don't know what to make of that.

Also, Benitez had been making noise in the run up to the game about Thiago being key to a good performance and win... and he gets left on the bench.

I also feel sorry for Shaqiri getting thrown into games with barely minutes to go.

  7. Has Klopp ever moaned about injuries? I don't think he has. And anyway, what's wrong with pointing out misfortune?

I'm guessing Coleman is just deflecting attention from the fact that we're having a terrible season and yet we're still four points and two places above them. And we're playing real Madrid in the European cup.

Plus, it's another season without a trophy for them.

Plus, they've spent an eye popping amount of money on players and a manager to get absolutely nowhere.

Plus their fans are all angry, racist, child throwing orcs.

Plus they have to Ronseal their stadium every summer so it doesn't disintegrate in the rain.

Whats his point though. This could be said of almost all players. Eric Cantona is just what Lee Trundle could of been.

Trent is lucky that a world class manager recognised his potential world class abilities and used him. Theres literally nobody in the manc team I'd swap Trent for.. not one.

I'd put Lee Trundle in my all time Scouse five a side team, I reckon he'd be Pele of the Pitz.

Just watching West Brom walking the ball into the Southampton area, wave after wave.

Saints can't be arsed, fans can't return quick enough, these mad silent games are absolute shite and a waste of everyone's time.

Since they beat us at the beginning of January, Southampton have only won two league games and yet they're still only 14th! That's 11 games lost in three months!

But yes, I agree, this season (and the end of last) is shite - football in empty stadiums is normally a punishment, yet here we all are, pretending it's any good.

  10. Dark Encounter (2019) - low budget sci fi/horror about a young girl who goes missing. Set in the US midwest - but shot entirely in Yorkshire with British actors, which is remarkable when you watch it. Anyway, I thought it was decent if you like sci fi, with nice special effects and good acting and - without giving the game away - a bit of a tough-to-watch last quarter. 6.5/10.

  11. Thought Shaq was good when he came on. I know he's not everyone's favourite player (Hello Jurgen!) but I think he's ace. What must other teams think when they see Shaqiri coming on? He's still a big name. I'm guessing this will probably be his last season here. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up next.
