If there is one thing that really fucks me off about articles or posts on Luis it is people bringing up the Ghana handball. The BBC and all the shit rags always list it in first place on his charter of misdemeanours. And now even some of our fans are referring to it as a bad thing. fuck off. Anybody that understands football knows that handball was what any pro with even an ounce of winning mentality would have instinctively done. The last minute of the worlds biggest knock out competition; it was what anybody SHOULD have done. The Ghanian had his chance and missed the pen. Luis sacrificed himself for the sake of his nation. I remember watching him celebrate the miss and thinking what a fucking dude, all long before he played for us. Any England player (except Downing perhaps) would have done the same and would have been knighted for it. The hypocrisy combined with having to listen to bell-ends, that clearly do not understand sport, cite this incident as a crime drives me mad. Now even some of our own do it and throw in comments that it was against an African team as if that was in his mind in the nano second it took him to use his hand. It is absolute bollocks just like almost 99% of the hysteria that follows the fella. He alone is reason I can bother going every week. An awesome player and I will be gutted if he leaves.

Thanks Dave. Can't disagree with too much of that but there a few worrying patterns developing that you have not picked up on and that are concerning me. Would be interested to know if you and others agree: (1) Joe Allen: poor for a long run of games now. Lucas being back and taking his holding position only shone a light on it, for me. I was hoping a more advanced role would allow him to show some creativity but saw little. I think his confidence has gone; I have noticed that he has started to hide a bit when we have possession. He wasn't doing that at the start of the season. Wasn't surprised to see him hooked in the second half. (2) Raheem Sterling: absolutely woeful end product and decision making in the final third. Admittedly you have touched on this in your report a little but my concern is that this type of thing is more natural than coached and I fear he will never be ruthless. (3) Poor substitutions: Henderson rather than Suso was the latest one I couldn't fathom. We needed a second goal and Suso has more creativity in his quiff than Henderson has in his whole body. (4) Gerrard: in addition to some average performances I am increasingly concerned what his position is in the Rodgers system.

Kirkland was gash. Had this habit of diving three seconds too late and in slow motion. The two things combined meant he was sometimes closer to saving the next shot than the one went for. That reaction to the aftershave slap was quickest I have seen him hit the deck. Not condoning it mind; Leeds have thousands of dicks like that following 'em.

Not too much I can disagree with there. Good report as always, Dave. Agree with Johnson as MOTM; I think along with Suarez he has been our best player this season. His attitude seems better than in prior seasons. I feel that Allen's form has dropped in recent home games with teams now getting closer to him; he needs to find a way to influence games when teams give him special attention. I absolutely agree that other players need to start backing up Luis. He is clearly detestable to everybody but us (I love the little shit). Gerrard needs to get in the refs ear as we are missing Carra's moaning big time.

One thing that is really driving me mad is the refereeing decisions against Suarez EVERY frickin week. The boy rides more bad tackles than anybody in the league yet has the reputation of being a diver. No TV channel spots the pattern. Referees have clearly made a collective decision to screw him over. He should have had at least 4 pens this year. He doesn't help himself with his whinging but he has a lot to whine about.
