He didn't look this bad in the world cup, so what's happened to him?

I hate to say this but since Suarez left and Sturridge has been out, Brendan has been totally clueless. He doesn't have any idea on the shape and style he wants us to play. The team is totally devoid of ideas. It's shocking that he (along with the fans) seem to be pinning our hopes on a revival when Sturridge returns from injury. No backup plan if Sturridge is injured again.

We will finish in mid-table unless we improve drastically. 

We've been shit but so has the ref. The club has to make a complaint about this ref.

Henderson is out of gai depth sadly.

Another player that was enhanced by playing with Suarez. Back to normality for Hendo and a few others now.

Brendan needs to make changes at HT otherwise Chelsea will walk this in the 2nd half.

What is so striking is the difference in the number of players on both sides that take silly chances and make ridiculous mistakes. Chelsea have almost none whereas we have lots. Mourinho doesn't put up with players who dick around on the pitch.

Really struggling now. We don't have players who can control a game whereas Chelsea have them all over the pitch.

No chance of winning with that team. Pretty much the same team that struggled against mighty Newcastle.

I was worried about Lazar because he didn't even look good in his 'highlights' videos on youtube. But I do think he will improve once the whole team starts playing better. Sterling looked really good last season because the team was tearing it up. Now we are playing shit Sterling doesn't look that great, although it doesn't help when Brendan sticks him on the wing.

Hopefully better things to come from Lazar.

Not as big a fuck up as Moores bringing in Houllier as joint manager because he didn't have the balls to sack his mate Roy. Who the fuck has joint management teams? Typical of a dinosaur like Moores to do something like that. Thankfully Roy had some dignity and left, leaving Houllier to finally fix the team up.

Parry and Moores, a pair of fucking idiots who stood by and watched the mancs steamroller past us and did absolutely nothing to arrest the slide. The only right thing Parry ever did was to appoint Rafa as manager. 

Good effort from the team, well surprised by that. Can looked really good at times and Toure rolled back the years. Could have nicked a goal too if we tried. Mig also played well.

All in all, a shit result but not a bad night, all things considered. 

FFS decent chance, crazy cross messed it up. Can looks promising. Lazar not so much.

Aside from the fact fringe players are being used against the best side in Europe, just how well can this assortment of players selected by Brendan play together? They will be disjointed and won't know what the fuck is going on. Brendan has effectively thrown these lads under a bus.

I'm actually feeling better with this team - nothing to lose and all to win.

Except our dignity and reputation. We're the 5 times winners of this tournament and should not be humiliated by any opponent. There's a good chance we could suffer our worst ever defeat in Europe tonight (5-1). 

I think Brendan's lost it. What is he thinking with that lineup? Never known a Liverpool manager to accept defeat before the match has even kicked off. Maybe Woy, but at least he still put his best team out when he had to. Baffling selection.

I think we'd be performing a lot better with this current squad if Rafa was in charge.

Fabregas. It was obvious he was leaving Barcelona and that Arsenal weren't interested. We might have had a chance of getting him. We should have made a crazy offer to him, he would have improved us immensely. 

Schneiderlin too would have been a good option for central midfield.

I know we tried to get Sanchez but the prick didn't want to come here but he would have been brilliant, very disappointed that didn't come off.

City have been wank since taking the lead. Won't be surprised if United get level.

I wasn't too hopeful after our summer spending on players I never really thought were that good, but I didn't expect things to be this bad. Okay we've lost Sturridge but we've spent a shitload so should be able to compensate. Apparently not.

Rubbish. We have been utter garbage this season. Even a top 6 finish would be remarkable at this rate.

It's incredible just how Suarez elevated the players around him. Hendo and Sterling were shit hot last season, now they look like totally inferior players. I'm sure if he was still around, Balotelli would be banging in a few goals every game. Hopefully Sturridge has the same effect on his team mates when he comes back into the team.
