Big shame, that. Would love to see him fit and playing in a more attacking position. If Sterling is fucking off then we should develop Ibe as his replacement.
-
hes got pace to burn but thats all.............hes just a new Aron Lennon,no football brain, shooting or passing ability etc
if City are really going to offer £50m for him ? id bite their fucking hand off
never believed or seen the hype about him.........its only because hes fast & English
You've obviously never seen Sterling play if you think all he has is pace and that he's no different to Lennon. That's actually one of the dumbest comments I've read on this forum for some time, congratulations.

No to Walcott. He's a crock and not as good as Sterling and a lot older.
-
I think he could develop into one of the world's best. Maybe not as good as Messi, Suarez or Ronaldo but the next level down, sure. He's an incredibly talented footballer and once he improves his goal scoring he'll be among the best in Europe. It would be a huge shame if he left us.

There are some seriously shit managers that keep getting hired. I'm not saying Barnes is a good manager but he was pretty much a novice when he took on the Celtic and then Tranmere jobs so deserves another chance assuming he has all those badges that coaches need.
-
I can't believe the "£180k" offer. I refuse to believe the club would be so stupid to offer that sort of money. And there is no way Sterling would turn down the offer. Unless he's had an offer from one of the oil clubs where he would have a chance of winning the league.

I'd like Gary Mac in there somewhere. A major inspiration behind the cup treble and getting us into the CL that season. I can't think of another signing who had been so influential the season he signed. The numerous winners he scored that season including that free kick against Everton...gives me goosebumps thinking about it! A great singing and a great fella.

The Manc game was the decider IMO. United are starting to play well and we have lost Gerrard and Sturridge for a while so I expect United to finish quite comfortably in the top 4. We have been brilliant all year except last week but we gave ourselves too much catching up to do after that terrible, terrible start to the season.
-
Sterling has done well playing in a central attacking role. Keeping him on the wing or worse, as a wing back is just a waste.
-
Delph is an excellent athlete but totally fucking brainless as a footballer. Every time I've seen him he's done the physical stuff well but when it comes to making decisions, he fucks it up.

Against Arsenal we'll be without Gerrard and potentially Skrtel and Sturridge too. A tough game just got a whole lot harder.
-
I know hindsight is unfair to the manager but...I really wish he had started with Gerrard now. Despite his stupid sending off, I think had he started the match we would have caused them more problems. We were very poor and to be fair, it was the easiest match the mancs have had against us in years. We played better in the match at Old Trafford despite getting beat 3-0.

absolute Bollocks. Sterling isn't doing himself any favours by being a lazy shithouse. As for not signing a £100k a week contract. I would pay him £100 a week the way he's playing. He's believing all the hype
Are you serious? We've been through this before. Sterling has always been crap in a defensive role. When Rodgers moved him further up the pitch in a purely attacking role, he excelled.
I'm not saying we should submit to whatever silly salary demands he's making but I don't think it's fair to judge his performances when he's not being played in his most effective position.
Put Coutinho and Sturridge in wing-back positions and I guarantee they will also look hopeless.
-
Rodgers isn't doing Sterling any favours by continuing to play him in a wing-back role. He is rubbish in that role and needs to be playing in attack to get the best out of him.
-
Neymar is such a greedy twat.
-
Brilliant goal from Suarez. That control was absolutely sublime.
-
Real have been excellent, by far the better team.
-
Be a few on here that should be okay.

Anyone got a stream?

Terrible result, absolutely terrible. Very disappointed to lose to these cunts at home.
-
Fucking hell Gerrard.
-
Sterling is wasted in this role. Put him up front with Sturridge and he'll be 10 times more effective.
-
Is Sterling suspended for this game?
-
Not if he would have played anything like tonight.
He played his best when he was just behind the strikers. He is plain rubbish in a 'wing back' role.
How long can we carrry a player like Sterling?

I don't like to say this but maybe Sterling isn't just motivated by money and wants to move to a club that will challenge for the top prizes each season? Let's be honest, we are not going to be challenging for the title or Champions League every season the way Chelsea and City are. He's not a local lad or a Liverpool supporter so we can't expect him to have an attachment to the club that would override his ambitions. If Chelsea or City want him, are willing to play him regularly in his favoured position and pay him a shitload of cash, he'll bound to be interested.
