  1. Apparently not happening according to the Echo.

Liverpool are not in the race to sign Barcelona winger Adama Traore.

Reports in Spain suggested that the 19-year-old was on the brink of flying to Merseyside to undergo a medical with the Reds.

However, the ECHO understands that Liverpool aren’t interested in a deal for the teenager.

Traore, who has represented Spain at under-19 level, is likely to move to the Premier League over the coming days, but either Stoke City or Aston Villa is likely to be destination.

Spanish clubs Villarreal and Celta Vigo are also keen on him but Traore has indicated he wants to play in England.

Barcelona are prepared to agree a permanent deal but only on the basis they secure a buyback option – similar to the one they negotiated with Everton for Gerard Deulofeu this summer.

Traore has made four first-team appearances for Barcelona. He has been a regular for Barcelona B over the past two seasons – scoring eight goals in 63 outings.

  2. The opposition to Corbyn from other Labour members has been an absolute disgrace. Kinnock is the latest cunt to come out to tell everyone what a disaster it would be if Corbyn became leader. Frankly, I can't think of a more ringing endorsement for Corbyn's bid for leadership than having people like Kinnock and Blair opposing him.

  3. This is his last chance so I'm all for backing him while he's still here and trying to get us going again. But he should not be given all the time in the world to fix the problems we had last season. If we're languishing outside of the top 5 by the start of 2016, he should be gone. We need to be in a position where a top 4 place is still a realistic aim in the last few weeks of the season. If we're well adrift of that by the turn of the year, then Brendan needs to go.

And the performances have to improve enormously. Last season we saw some of the worst ever performances from a Liverpool team. Lifeless, devoid of ideas, no passion, no energy, no creativity, no attacking intent. More of that this season and Brendan's remaining backers will be on his case.

  4. Please go, Mario. And take Borini with you. Not that I have anything against Italian strikers. I mean, I'd swap the pair of them for a young Del Piero and Roberto Baggio. And from the current Italian squad, I'd swap them for....hmm. Italian strikers are really shit these days, aren't they?

  5. I wasn't fussed about the poppy incident, brandishing poppies has no place in football IMO. And I question why a national anthem was played in a friendly game between clubs. But having said that, McClean comes across as a bit of an attention-seeker and frankly, deserves all the shit he gets as a result. I'm not a fan of the monarchy or the stupid anthem Britain has adopted but the fact is that it represents the country whether we like it or not, and to have a footballer playing for an English club publicly showing his disdain towards the country will rightly receive criticism.

  6. Russia should not have a World Cup until the sort out their disgusting racism issues and the UK should not have a World Cup until the sort out their attrocious paedophilia issues.

There's paedophile activities at English football grounds?

UEFA will issue the Russian FA a £1000 fine along with a stern statement and then forget about it, as usual.

  7. I really don't see the fuss with Delph. He's got good physical attributes but is totally brainless with the ball. Villa are well rid off him IMO.

£22M for Pedro is a good price. I would have preferred Pedro for £22M (assuming he'd come) than Benteke for £32M. Wonder if we have enough money left over to buy Pedro?

  8. He's worth a punt at £15M given his Premiership goal record. £32M is a ridiculous fee and we have been mugged I'm afraid. I'm all for spending big money on proven world class talent who fit in with the team. Unfortunately Benteke doesn't qualify and I can see him having a hard time here.

  9. Yes, Aguero is streets ahead of them, but Costa is also streets ahead of Benteke. He can run behind defences, Benteke cannot. Costa's off the ball movement is brilliant. Benteke, on the other hand, hardly ever gets into positions to lash onto through balls.

Costa also works his bollocks off in every game. I've seen more than a few matches involving Benteke when he couldn't be arsed. Including the fa cup final in which he was utter crap.

  10. Playing to his strengths means playing a style of football that no successful side plays.  Long punts up to him and constant crossing is low percentage football.

Don't play to his strengths and you wonder why we bought him instead of a proper forward that would suit us.

Yet again, another expensive transfer that any cunt without the red specs on can see is doomed from the get go and completely idiotic.  Thankfully this will be Rodgers last one since he simply cannot survive after fucking up the coming season.

Agreed. A massive gamble. The transfer fee for this limited footballer is outrageous. Clubs put in stupid fees into contracts as release clauses to ward off bids from other clubs. They don't expect clubs to actually pay the full amount as we stupidly are about to do. Villa would probably have accepted around £25M if we negotiated hard enough but no, we go ahead and give them exactly what they want. Again.

Benteke will cost us about the same as Costa and Aguero did. Does anyone expect him to have the same impact?

  11. An absurd price. But we have proven to being the biggest mugs in the league. Why bother trying to scout for a bargain when an expensive flop will do. Add Benteke to the list alongside Carroll, Aquilani, Downing, Lovren, Balotelli, Lallana, Markovic, etc.

  12. I like that the Greeks have given the Germans the middle finger. Every time the media asks the average Greek on the street about this crisis, they always blame Germany. And they're right. Germany has way too much power in the EU now. Good thing we're not in the Euro, being told what to do by Merkel and her mob doesn't appeal. Not that I mind her slapping Cameron around but for one country to be so dominant is not good for the EU.

  13. Congrats to Chile. Really like this Chile team, they don't give a fuck who they're playing, they'll always try attacking and trying to outplay their opponents even when they're considered underdogs.

  14. To be honest, I was concerned about Markovic at the start since he didn't even look good in his youtube highlights videos! And if you can't look good in those selective clips then you're not likely to be that good in my shallow opinion.

I'd be happy to offload him, he's not really shown any serious potential although I wonder how much of that is down to be playing as a wing back.
