  1. Top report Dave! That's gotta be the most consice, devastating, hilarious and, above all, totally accurate take on Rafa's flaws anyone will ever see. Brilliant stuff ;-)
  2. I agree with most of this but on a positive note: -we just played the most expensive team ever assembled and they couldn't beat us over 120 mins -klopp has only had his '1st choice' XI for 3 weeks -we've conceded only 1 goals in 4.5 games -klopp has already lined up 2 really good players (from what I have seen/read) for next season I can only ever remember us losing (this)one penalty shoot out and I might be in the minority but I don't see it as the worst way to lose a final. Reason being that I don't feel short changed and don't have to analyse a loss. Until we get a billionaire backer we're going to have to take the rough with the smooth. Klopp is the type of manager like Raffa who can punch above his weight and if he cant get the club's backing he's going to need the fans. Anyway enough positivity from me...we're defo beating united though...
  3. Not sure whether you are aware but my understanding is that there had been 'negotiations' with fans representative groups for some time prior to the announcement about the price rises. The club owners have decided to raise prices anyway regardless of fan input and in spite of the billions coming their way from TV deals next year! Even 'too much' is still not enough for these snakes in suits. But maybe you are right and nothing will ever change and the fleecing must go on and on with higher and higher prices forever. Perhaps it's time to think about building a new club 'a little further out west' (just like the founding fathers in the US constitution suggested for the American people to do if the Republic they tried to create ever degenerated into a failed state)?
  4. FFS! I negged the article by mistake. Dave/ TLW please rectify this pathetic mistake of mine the article is great! ;-) Christ! I'm even less competent than Ian Ayre and Mike effin Gordon! D'oh!
  5. This current crop of LFC players are football 'impotence' personified ;-( £77 quid to watch those inept, dissatisfying losers? Fuck you John Henry, Tom Werner, Ian Ayre and Mike Fuckin Gordon!
  6. Great report but I'd be careful what you wish for in the case of trying to sign Texeira...is it just me (quite possibly) but never heard of him before this season, now we want to pay £25m for him. This could well be the work of our famous transfer comitee who's work is well documented...we could've actually signed Shane long and Charlie Austin and paid there wages for what were probably going to spend on this latest 'no 10' or is he a false 9? Like I say I'd run a mile from that one...sorry to go off subject but the rest of the report was spot on:-)
  7. At 3-1 down I had zero faith in that group of players making any kind of comeback. I'm still shocked that they actually did it and how they did it! For me one of the biggest pluses about today is the sheer desire and will to win of this manager! It's fantastic to see those qualities rubbing off on the players like that! More of the same on Tuesday please!
  8. Benteke has scored more than the rest of the team put together...prior to this he earned us a point against arsenal with an assist and a win against Leicester and sunderland. I know he's shit and may not press and run around a lot but the fact that he's on the bench didn't help us beat arsenal or united at home. The report is great but the pass played by kolo to Milner before their goal was a 'hospital pass'. This immediately led to one of Uniteds rare break aways which led to the only corner they had in 2nd half...we know what happens next...so wouldn't give kolo Man of match for that reason. Those mistakes are constantly costing us goals, just like sakho against arsenal when he should have either won the header or stayed down with a head injury (after missing the ball and head butting giroud) The team lacks many things but my main concerns are lack of leadership, intelligence and determination to win (not to be confused with 'trying your best' which never cut the mustard at LFC in the good times).
  9. Great report, one observation re can's pass to sturridge: 'was picked out brilliantly by Can' Might be the understatement of the week...(that's not a criticism!) I was off my seat when he made that pass. It just shows what he is capable of and another, along with lallana who has improved beyond recognition.
  10. Ha! That Roman times analogy is brilliant and all too accurate! Those stale toffees are indeed overwhelmed by their own bile. As for the players digging deep to save their gaffer's head well it would appear one or two players were actively trying to help FSG in their decision to opt for a change of manager! Can especially seemed these last few games to be vigorously making his point about not being a natural centre back not with words.. But with actions. Very anxious now about whether FSG will get the manager appointment right. What they do next, one way or another, will be very revealing.
  11. It's his fourth season and each time he sends his team out to play the defending on show is more often than not 'hysterical'... He should be sent packing for that alone. He has proved beyond all reasonable doubt that he can't organise a team to defend effectively. How the hell did he manage to achieve his FA 'coaching' badge? Or did he somehow manage to blag his way to getting his mits on it?!? ;-)
  12. Why spend millions to build a super-duper new main stand to seat extra fans (or should that be to shmooze 'corporate guests' with prawn sandwiches) when you then employ a small time second rate team manager who in his fourth season can't guide his players to a home win against Norwich?
  13. If Brendan wants to find out the reason for that defeat he needs only to look in the mirror. It's now his fourth season and he's got a defence that persistently can't be trusted to defend. He's got a midfield that can't cope at home against West Ham. He's got a thirty odd million quid forward who appears isolated and lacks sevice with no decent width in the team that could help bring the best out of such a forward. This all means that this team stinks the place out, especially in home games. The team appear poorly drilled and badly organised. It's an unbelievable situation and his position has effectively been untenable, in the real world, since the debacle at Stoke at the end of last season. How he has the nerve to stand on that touchline in front of home fans having already proved he's not up to the job is beyond me. He must have the hide of a Rhinoceros and an ego the size of Jupiter...
  14. Great article. Last season was a feast of goals and attacking football. This season is just a soddin' famine..! Meanwhile the ticket prices go on up, up up and away! I'd write to Henry demanding a full refund after that utter incompetent crap served to supporters at the weekend. Spot on observation/ comment about Lallana too.
  15. So yet another layer is added to this utter shit cake of a season... I don't think I can face another weekend watching Mario as a lone striker (demonstrating yet again that him in place of Suarez, in the same sort of system, is as bad a replacement of the same magnitude of blunder as was David Moyes succeeding Alec Ferguson last year!). FFS Brendan! How could you get it all so badly wrong so quickly?
  16. Great article Paul. Nails the key issues for me. Incompetence by those in the 'transfer committee' and currently by the team management is wrecking the season. Bringing in what appears to be the wrong sort of players and then persisting in playing those who are out of form/ not up to standard is well out of order. FFS - Get a grip Brendan Rodgers! Getting Sturridge back and keeping him fit and scoring goals is going to be absolutely vital to halting this alarming decline. If that doesn't happen it doesn't bear thinking how this season may eventually pan out.
  17. Oh dear - it's bad. That was abysmal last night. 2 down in ten minutes - some 'response' from the goalie and defenders in the side who've already been criticised this season for lack of focus and concentration. If only Sakho's defending was as intricate and carefully crafted as the patterns woven into his blooming haircut... And I fear you're right about the rest too. It's a mess all over the pitch. Their midfield looked quicker, stronger and more dangerous than ours (especially first half), just the same as the other night in the European Cup League. Stuart flippin Downing looked more threatening than our lot! FFS... First thing to do for the manager now is to focus priority on doing whatever it takes to stop the side conceding goals (he spent time learning from that negative shit bag Mourinho didn't he?). The side needs to be focused on that for the time being. Only once they can demonstrate they can defend as a team can they build on the attacking side of things. Also a draw away from home and a solid defensive performance is surely acceptable from time to time in order to get some momentum and confidence back into things?
  18. What a performance in that first 35 mins of the first half! What a finish by Stirling - Sturridgesque! What a result in the end! What a team we've become and what a manager to get such consistent brilliance out of them like this! They owe it to themselves, and their immense skipper, now to make sure they finish this job off (starting with those odd looking, big eared farmers) after that yesterday. If there's any justice in this crazy world then they'll somehow find a way to make it over the finish line in first place. What an awesome ride this season has become!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Another top report Dave! Consistently inconsistent that's us... Another summer transfer window beckons but like you I'm sceptical about the future based on previous experiences. As you say 'the right signings' often fail to materialise. Somehow we need more genuine quality to help us win matches like that one at the weekend. Let's hope the 'transfer committee' surprises us all this summer?!?
  20. Brendan showed his flaws there at Anfield Thursday night. The manager's emphasis on keeping the ball and passing is all very well but it's destroying the team's defensive capabilities. Defenders need to be allowed license to clear into row Z if and when necessary, otherwise all the passing will come to nought! This team is not only the anti-united (as suggested in W Brom match report Dave) but also the anti-Houllier team too. Whereas with Ged H we were obsessed with defensive duties now it's the opposite! We are so lax defensively, trying to constantly do fancy passing instead of sticking to the basic rules of defence, we need to be able to score many goals as we seem sure to leak them at the back. The other thing was the glaring managerial inexperience demonstrated by Brendan in making the substitutions instead of waiting once the 3rd goal went in.
  21. Suarez is just brilliant though, sometimes I think we may take for granted just how good he is. He was superb at Stoke the other night in a losing effort, and he's just relentless in terms of always showing up to play and leaving everything he has on the field. Effort and commitment are never in question, he only knows one way to play no matter who the opposition are or how big or small the game is. If he were to play next week at Mansfield (and hopefully he won't be risked) he'd put in the same kind of shift as he would against the Mancs at Anfield. This is the example that the rest of the team/ squad ought to follow every game. That relentless desire to succeed and the ability to ‘show up’ for each match is exactly what the club needs in bucket loads.
  22. Another great report as usual Dave. The thing that bothers me about this club is the lack of apparent, authentic and genuine desire to win football matches. It seems to run all through the whole club. You could see the desire to win on the Stoke players faces the other night. To me our lot looked like they’d prefer to be somewhere else, eg: On Xmas break/ sending out dull and pointless Tweets… While I’m on the subject - Once again Taggart and his team were showing how it’s done the other day. There’s a manager and set of players who are absolutely obsessed with winning matches for Manchester United. Just like Demento himself (a man who is permanently bitter and twisted – That’s what seems to fuel him) every single one of their players is utterly demented with winning and defeating the opposition. They claim for every decision (even when they appear to know they shouldn’t get the call from the ref). While the Mancs are like someone on E’s manically dancing to Fergie’s tune in comparison our lot appear to be in some sort Cannabis induced stupor seemingly indifferent to the results of their behaviours and the negative impact this has on club and fans. We lack desire, focus and purpose. A bit of nouse wouldn’t go amiss either!
  23. As always top report Dave! Our club's attacking play is about as sophisticated and accurate as a 2 year year old drawing a picture with messy crayons... We have had this problem of too many draws throughout last season - even when we had the likes of Bellamy, Maxi, Kuyt and Carroll to call on. Same shit - different day!
