its really not about getting crosses into the box at all mate......that i such a british media thing to say "whip it in" do me a fucking favour. football is about decision making, when to cross, when to run and when to pass it short. sadly we dont have players who make the right decisions and even when they do, they dont have the quality to carry them out. i agree we need to get more players into the box though, but that starts from keeping the ball better in the right areas to allow men to get forward with confidence. fuck united success, football has changed, its about creating space, and penetrating that space with pace.....thats what opens the game up. getting in behnd and picking players out rather than just crossing into "danger areas" thats why united were so shit against barca, they tried to get it out wide bla bla bla....thats all 90's shit now, it doesnt work like that anymore, because central defenders just track the striker and it doesnt matter who is crossing the ball, it just gets cut out. shit players put the ball in the danger area or "the mixer" good players use the space their team mates make to create goal scoring chances for team mates, they pick them out. we dont need a guy who can ping a ball onto carrolls head, we need a guy to put the ball where caroll is standing or making a run to.

yea, thats what happens when we have had 3 negative managers in our last 11-12 years. going to be hard to change some of the mentality of our older players thats for sure. i think our manager is well up for the challenge and i think he wants to knock them off their fucking perch. i think all the talk will be about winning the league and we will have a relentless approach to that goal over the next 3 seasons. i think kenny will change the mindset of many of our players and we will re-create that seige mentality that has helped them win the league so many times. i dont think kenny will settle for 2nd best and i think he will be more ruthless in changing things if they arent working out. he has a standard, and if players dont match up they will be out of the team. our burning desire, from manager to fans to win this league is what will make the difference. we are as hungry as fegrie was when he took over at united, kenny is the only man he cant play his mind games with, and kenny is a better manager and spots talent better...... he's shit scared of us......trust me.

i disagree regarding a football brain. but i respect your opinion and repect the way youve put it forward, maybe im wrong..... but i have played football all my life. i have seen a guy built like adebayor, great touch, un real shot......power......had the lot......but was just shit becuase when it came to playing in a team, he was crap. he didnt understand simple things liek when to use hs team mates and when to go alone..... for 5 years different managers tried to get him to change, nurture him and talk to him. he didnt change. its not that he was stubborn, he just couldnt do it. he didnt see what he should be seeing. i know its a shit example, and he is an amatuer player but in my 20 odd years playing the game, i have seen this time and time again. some players just cant be coached.

if those stats are 3 years old fuck off if those stats are from last year, bentley played nowhere near as much games as either downing or young....fuck off. i will point out again, modric had very low assists last year......stats mean fuck all at times.......its what you see with your eyes. and its what makes a team more effective and function better. end result = you can fuck off.

fair enough, we all se the game differntyl thats whats makes it great to talk about. ive never seen anything in his body movement or ability to suggest he is a mid table to championship player if im honest. he doesnt have pace, he doesnt have good tricks to create himself some space, and he doesnt have the football brain to help him when he most needs it. ive watched him so many times and thought "why the fuck did you run there for" or "why did you cross it from 35 yards out when you had an easier pass inside" beyond average.

i see what your saying mate i jsut dont think he has that in his locker. its what makes good to great players stand out from ordinary ones. football is a game many people can play, many people can controla ball, run with a ball and cross a ball.......its knowing when to do it that makes them a professional. you cant teach a football brain and you cant teach touch/vision........players are born with it. bentely does have a decent touch, his vision isnt bad.........but his football brain and decision making are sunday league.......very poor and very average. fuck him, and fuck trying to get a cheaper version than downing and hoping we can make him better........we tried that with pennant......we have no time.

he had one of the finest managers ever in regards to devloping youth and bringing a player on to fullfill his potential in arsne wenger. wenger realised quickly that this kid just doesnt listen and wants to be the star. he wants to take shots from 30 yards. he wants to try and beat two defenders (even though he has no skill or pace) and cross the ball so he can be the one who created the goal and gets the assist. when there was an easier pass for a better placed team mate to cross all along...... kenny, ferguson, hiddink, cappello none of them could have made him into the player people think he should have been. he is over hyped by the british media (in world cup year) as they always do....... if wenger couldnt get him to listen in a team that plas such simple football, then nobody had a chance. ive seen harry redknapp bring bentley on in games, needing a goal and the shit bentley did had harry shaking his head. tried to do it all himself, the wonder goal, the bekham like cross from deep....he's shit and even if god came to earth he couldnt make him a better player.

in 2008 he scored 2 hatricks ( i think) so even though those stats are decent, they arent as good people might think. screw the assists. modric only had 3 assists last year, but he is a vital part of spurs team, he helps them tick. downing is much much better decision maker than bentley. david bentley is the classic....."get it down the line and whip it is" bullshit kind of player. the amount of times you see him try something stupid, like trying to beat two defenders when marked closely is shocking. he is the classic run down a blind ally type player. he does not make the right pass often enough. a player like downing does. bentley has never been up there with the best, its all british media bullshit hype. ive always said he was proper shit and i was right about him. i think downing is ok and decent but will help the team function. wenger got rid of bentley very bloody quickly, and the reason is he knew he was shit and didnt make the right decisions at the right times. he is the kind of guy who if you brought him on with 20 mins to go, needing a goal, would take five 25 yard pot shots.....aiming for glory......but most would hit the defenders shins. although i dont think that much of downing he is a much much better player then david bentley will ever be..

you cant compare bentley to downing. bentley has no end product and he cant even make half a yard to get his cross in. he is a beckham wannabe but doesnt have the proper delivery along with good decision making to be a top footballer. pennant? well he was always shit, always a poor mans wright-phillips (who is shit anyway) downing is better than both. he is stronger, taller and has a better finall ball than both of them. he also has a better mentality and is a better professional. but fuck is he worth 20 million...
