For those that aren't supportive, I think it's more to do with the sums we are spending than the quality of the players. Carroll, Henderson, Adam and Downing (if these two sign) are decent players but not world class yet we are paying fees normally associated with world class players (or in the case of Adam/Downing, the figures discussed are pretty damn big).
For a club that was heavily in debt not long ago it's should be a bit of a concern that we're splashing out a lot of money on above average players, especially when we don't have the extra revenue from Europe next season.
