    I’ve learned to look beyond her looks anyway. She’s nearly 50 after all. Fantastic mother, wonderfully patient with a dickhead like me, excellent at all things DIY, looks after my mother, quite funny and excellent on nature, art and literature in a pub quiz.

    I don’t work anymore, apart from the odd day here and there. I last worked full time in October and started the blog in January.

    I could get a job. I can get work. I only want to do limited things this year though for all sorts of reasons. To be honest I’ve done four days work all year. I’ve another twelve days booked in and if I can get another 10-15 from somewhere at a decent rate that’ll do.

    I appreciate that. It’s the going rate for what I do though. If anything, it’s low. Does that make me sound like a cunt? Probably. It’s not meant to. It’s just the salary range of the work I’m looking for. No point wasting people’s time.

    That’s true. The trick is getting customers/companies etc. to think I do which I used to do well before I didn’t do it so well.
