It'll be the healthiest addiction you've ever had.

I’m going to my son’s tomorrow. The range of birds he gets around his garden compared to ours is amazing.

    Have I said that before?

I've had very limited success with marigolds, pelargoniums, courgettes & cucumber; abject failure with peppers, parsnips, asparagus, hollyhocks and a few other things.

I think it’s just been too cold. Here anyway.

I read earlier this week that peppers need 18° to germinate. I’d planted mine what feels like weeks back. Nothing and then this week I’ve almost been able to watch them as they peep through the compost. Same for other trays that I was ready to ditch

Our town has a carnival at the start of May and our local "in bloom" crowd will be selling plants including tomato plants. They'll have done the hard work for me; I'll just get them home, stick them in grow bags and wait for my lovely tomatoes to grow. Fuck you, germination.

No shame in buying vegetable seedlings. The alternative is to buy a packet of say 100 seeds and you only want 5.

However, once your plants starts to grow there’s a fair amount of work if you actually want a decent crop. They may be the best tomatoes you ever eat but they won’t be the cheapest, in time or money

No, I was a first class cunt, it wasn't just Fugitive who got it either.

    It's a secret.

I’m going to have to have a look now.

I was a spoilt child; turned the tv off at full time and went to bed

Good eye. It's only small as I had to cut it right back last year.

Mine are nowhere near as far on as that.

I’ve taken a bit of a shine to them, inspired by my son’s gf and I’m planting out 2 hydrangeas I had in pots, adding to an existing one, to make a bit of a white (hydrangeas) and blue themed border.

I have this image in my head; whether it turns out like it only time will tell

No worries. My nephew's autistic, and this lead my sister to do a lot of research into neurodiversity. She realised loads of her own personality traits mirrored his, and got assessed. Bingo.

She pointed out some stuff to me and sent over one of the preliminary questionnaire forms. I"d always thought she was pulling my leg when she said certain things I did were textbook ADHD, but I was ticking all the boxes.

Been on antidepressants since I was 17, social anxiety, suicidal periods, thought I might be bi-polar, but this probably makes more sense. My brain just never shuts up. I'm trying not to research it myself though, as I worry it could affect an accurate assessment. I'd rather go in blind, so to speak.

Been waiting since August. I said I'd go via Right To Choose, but they must have a massive waiting list.

Thanks, Babbs and good luck. There really does appear to be increasing recognition of the prevalence of neurodivergence and also the hereditary nature of AS conditions. I’m at the stage of testing almost all behaviour through the prism of neurodivergence on a personal and professional level. In a work setting it is quite easy to identify the ‘there in plain sight’ explanations of parents’ difficulties managing their children’s behaviour and equally their difficulties engaging successfully with ‘support’ services.

I wonder about myself sometimes but couldn’t justify taking up a place on overstretched waiting lists. I’m probably largely an ‘introvert’ with ADHD traits trying not to be too hard on myself
