  1. I thought the club was put up for sale in March this year. Also, the investment they were looking for was just extra cash input wasn't it? But they couldn't agree. I bet the investors wanted the yanks out of the picture and they couldn't agree.
  2. What evidence is there to suggest that the board are not trying to keep the best players? Unless someone is ITK, then what has happened to suggest this? Apart from a Journalist speculating?
  3. There probably won't be a timescale as such but an agreement can be made pretty quickly. Once that is in place the players will be told and I think they will stay based on it. If it doesn't happen before August 31st then so be it. It will then make the January transfer window interesting. Don't forget Torres and Gerrard want to see evidence that the club is moving forward. A sale would indicate that.
  4. Managers get backed by chairmen even when the chairmen are negotiating with other managers for their job. The yanks were negotiating with Klinsmann behind Rafa's back in 2007. The managers job is most vulnerable at every club.
  5. So you either: 1. Know something we don't. ITK. 2. Think that the temporary chairman of the club (Liverpool Football Club that is) sat there in a press conference last week, next to the newly appointed manager and told a complete and utter pack of lies in front of the national press in order to facilitate the club being stripped down to nothing. You need to back up your extreme comments because you seem to be very certain.
  6. I agree with this. I think his qoute about the owners 'stepping down' was an enormous one. I think they have washed their hands of the club. They are hated and completely unwelcome. So they appoint Broughton to sell the club for them. Broughton WAS NOT sitting there lying last week. There is no way. he may of lied over Rafa but that happens. All chairmen/execs do it. Right through history.
  7. I think there will be at least 3 interested buyers with the most likely already chosen. All the doom and gloom stuff about Broughton being a liar etc just isn't realistic and it's based solely on Rafa being sacked after he said he was supported. Happens everywhere. Managers get a vote of confidence and then they are sacked. I think he was pretty clear in the press conference last week. Once the sale has been agreed he'll go immediately. My belief is also that Hodgson will have been appointed in agreement with potential owners and the top players will also be kept informed of developments. The press are creating mass anxiety at the moment and it's ridiculous. Ignore them.
  8. I'd pack football in. It would be too much to take and I just couldn't stomach it. Barcelona - yes English club - end of the world for me.
  9. The way the papers fabricate these stories is unreal. They must read the Sky Sports headline and think, 'right let's turn that one on it's head'
  10. apologies in advance:avoiding giving him clicks so pasting KOPTALK can exclusively reveal that Roy Hodgson has been appointed as the new manager of Liverpool Football Club. The Fulham manager was always the bookies favourite to land the job despite the Reds having considered several alternatives including former Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini. Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish wanted the job but was turned down flat by the current Anfield board. One of Hodgson's first jobs will be to try and persuade his friend to remain at the club. Dalglish has so far rejected the opportunity to be appointed as Director of Football but maybe he will reconsider when things settle down. Hodgson has agreed terms with Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow but no official announcement will be made until Fulham and Liverpool finalise a compensation payment. Later today Hodgson is due to talk to senior members of the Liverpool coaching staff to help him come to a decision as to who should be his assistant. Hodgson is not on Merseyside at this time and is unlikely to be until everything is official. That doesn't need to be rushed though with Liverpool's players currently down in South Africa or away on their holidays. Although Liverpool have finally found their new manager, there's still no sign of any new owners. As previously reported by KOPTALK, Liverpool have recently lost Sheikh Khalifa of Abu Dhabi and at least one Indian bidder as a result of the ridiculous valuation of the club.
  11. rbuxton87 Hearing unconfirmed reports that Kenny Dalgish has stepped down from his role at #LFC you academy. Still only unconfirmed reports though.

  13. I know you all love Koptalk, but according to their Twitter, he has officially been appointed 'just now'. Will be announced when compensation is agreed.
  14. Does anyone think that if Pellegrini doesn't get the job there is a good possibility that he turned us down?
  15. The story is now that the 'text' rumour has been started by a taxi driver who picked someone up from the club and dropped them at the airport. During the journey they spilled the beans on Abu Dhabi and July 16th. I think the original rumour started online and has now become that. So I don't believe it either way. If Hodgson is appointed soon, i can't see a takeover happening.
  16. it could be worse, we could be France
  17. If it's made up, it's very long winded and a well articulated wind up. They had me fooled anyway. At least Insua's staying.
  18. I viewed his latest video the other night. He's completely insane. What is with the chin stroking and pondering? You would think he was officially linked. Moron.
  19. I think the papers are all clutching at straws. They change their tune from day to day. I think someone at the club is 'fending' them off. I wonder why that could be...? Takeover?
  20. Bascombes article is full of holes.
  21. Been Reading the takeover thread over there. I believe the post, but that's just me. The fella has 28000 posts so I don't think he is winding anyone up.
  22. Atk and juan g are clearly suggesting that Hodgson is the new manger. Either they love notw articles, they are bascombe or they get off on pretending to be in the know. So which is it? The most insulting part of bascombes article is the part where he says that Kenny and Purslow were unimpressed by pellegrini. Doubt that very much. Also how does he know which players are for sale? A new manager needs to look at the squad himself before making these kinds of decisions. Rafa did it with Murphy after one pre season game. Looking at the article it seems it's either com pletely made up or information is being fed to bascombe by someone at the club. Atk reckons he knows who it is. Good for him. Whether hodgson gets the job or not it's propaganda. Unless there is a takeover due soon , Hodgson or even pelle are Not getting that amount to spend. The mancs can't even spend that when they are handed it in cash.
  23. I agree with this from Brian Reade 100%: Last summer when his agent was begging Barcelona to take him, he put it out that his wife couldn’t settle in England because she missed Hispanic culture. He should just be a bit more honest and ask Liverpool for a transfer, because if Inter came up with £55million they would bite their hands off. Mascherano is very good, but his Anfield contribution is often over-rated due to his Hollywood tackles. Plus they have a ready-made replacement in Lucas Leiva who, despite his scapegoat-status, is blossoming into an effective defensive midfielder. So £55million it is then? What do you mean that’s way over the top. Let me refer you to how Inter Milan’s new coach defined the Argentinian’s worth last summer: “Mascherano has no price. Barcelona could not afford to match his value to Liverpool Football Club – even £50million wouldn’t buy him.” Over to your new chequebook Rafa.
