  1. Feck me, when God gave you teeth he wasted a good arse.
  2. Shame the government won't act to get the billions owed from the millionaires who evade tax every year. Wonder why? I bet you were a school bully.
  3. They won't put Kenny or Thommo in out of choice for one reason - the fans will ALWAYS side with them. If (say) Gerrard is sold and no money passed down for a replacement, the entire support will side with Kenny/Thommo against the board. With anybody else they can palm off blame onto the manager and feckless fans will lap it up......... see recent history. Yuo see no reason why we shouldn't have a manager? Jesus, have you been in a coma for 3 years?
  4. You know, I'd love what you are saying to be true. But its based on what? Your hopes, wishes and dreams? Look at the evidence of all the club has done (or rather not done) since 2007, and tell me why you think they are operating in the old John Smith style way. My concern is that any buyer is likely to want their own Manager so either a) we are about to be bought but there is no evidence at all that this is likely, or b) we are miles away from being bought so the current owners are carrying on. If a new buyer is on the horizon then why would the current owners pay off Benitez now from club funds, devalvuiing the club? If there isn't a buyer on the horizon...oh shit. And for the record, Hiddinck & Deschamps have both openly said "no"; Sven has begged publically and Hodgson has not uttered a word other than to say "I know nothing". Like you say, we are about to start pre-season and nothing! How many "big" clubs do you know would be so disorganised as this? The club is booking friendlies for pre-season - who is doing that? Oh, one final thing, the disgraceful season you refer to - the favourite replacement finished several places lower and got one game further in the UEFA Cup.....yes I know it was with Fulham but hardly a "Can't wait for him to come in" type manager is he?
  5. You don't sack a Manager after one bad season. You don't sack a Manager without having a plan to replace him either. In our current state, it was always going to be the case that nobody of any standard would want the job. Too many looked at tactics, substitutions, zonal marking, negative play etc when in the grand scheme of the current situation, none of those things mattered. And the club saw the backing it required from the fanbase and acted. Only time Benitez should have gone was when new owners came in. Now, we are deeper in the mire than we were and we were really deep in it already. Any 'fan' who thinks Purslow is capable of any decision making of any affect is an idiot. Any 'fan' who thinks we are in a position to do anything other than collapse into oblivian is a blinkered idiot. Our only hope is new owners and thats not going to happen until Hicks gets as many $$$ out of the club as he possibly can - which will take years not weeks or months. We're fucked. Get used to it.
  6. I hope you're right, unfortunately, when you say things like "the new manager will hopefully get a large percentage of the funds they generate" I fear you aren't. In fact, you're living in cloud fucking cuckoo land. Good luck though.
  7. And if they don't? What will you say then? They won't by the way, not both of them anyway. What will you say if Gerrard is sold for £30m and the banks take the lot, with Shelvey being his replacement? You see, those who were vitriolic in their insistance on Rafa going would have been better served directing that energy against the cancer within the club. They weren't and they've bought the cancer time to grow, flourish and kill off the club. Bravo.
  8. On the contrary I think that is an excellent team....... pity Mascherano, Gerrard, Benayoun, Babel, & Riera won't be Liverpool players next season though. Seriously, we won't keep that group together, not even close.
  9. I'm hopepul of 6 numbers tomorrow night and Ana Ivanich coming round with a bottle of Pinot Grigio..... no holes in that plan at all.
  10. Nobody is pretending that though. You on the other hand are pretending they would have left if he stayed, if you're wrong and they leave after he's gone, you saying its down to him too.......you have to really, or your argument falls apart. Rather than admit they'll be off because the club is fucked you'll say its the ex-Manager's fault. You see, the reason they will leave is as I say, the club is on its knees. If Rafa had stayed it would be on its knees. He's gone and its further on its knees purely because his (and his staffs) removal along with the appointment of a new Manager has cost you and me (yes, you and me, not G&H) an further £10m. So £10m less than the minus figure we had anyway to invest in the team. We were fucked at the end of May with Rafa in charge. We're more fucked today with nobody in charge, and will be fucked further next week with Hodgson in charge. As the meerkat says....simples
  11. No problem with that counter argument at all - Hodgson may persuade them to stay. We'll soon find out. (Though RAOTL reporting Gerrard already has the Madrid No.10 shirt next season). If either or both leave, Rafa can't now be blamed. If he was really the problem, the problem has now gone. Trouble is, he wasn't the real problem. The real problem is still in place and will remain so for a while yet whilst things get worse and worse and worse. Some, though, will be like the Tories now - its the fault of the previous incumbant. Oh well..... I'll not enjoy doing the "I told you so" dance come November.
  12. So if Torres and/or Gerrard leave then its not going to be anything at all to do with Hodgson and / or his appointment? Yet, you quote rumours of them going if Rafa stayed. So, on the one hand if they leave now its Rafa's fault not Hodgson's. If Rafa had stayed and they left it was Rafa's fault too, so no matter what happens its Rafa's fault. No agenda there then. Then again, having read your ridiculous post re Dalglish bringing back Rush........WTF !! Amusing that people are saying getting behind the manager is the thing to do. The same people who wouldn't get behind a manager who had one bad season out of six are the ones shouting it the loudest. Amusing too that Hodgson's appointment will be the mediocre, middle of the road manager envisaged when Rafa was sacked........ those who wanted Rafa out denied we would get such a manager and said top names would still want the job. Now we know they don't want it, we must "get behind the manager". Revisionist bollocks. I've read threads elsewhere asking if Moyes would be a better bet than Hodgson and there is an even split on that. Moyes wouldn't touch us with a barge pole which is a (very) sad indictment on the club - His quote that Everton are a better bet for investment as they have better prospects is true. Add to that the fact that even Kenwright doesn't sack a good Manager when he has one bad season and we are left with Hodgson as the best bet. Great.
  13. Did you really? Did you go to two Champions League Finals doubting the Manager?
  14. Thanks for that yeh, actually I want you to manage us. You're great and know everything.
  15. You know what, you're right. We should walk the league every year, its a piece of piss. Now Rafa has gone we will deffo win it next season.
  16. Can't wait for your insightful take on the coming season then.
  17. Exactly. Best points total since when? and people saying they were losing faith.
  18. Pffft. Well you for one certainly know your bollocks. So one off games are ok to judge Benitez pn - outof the cup to Reading but not others - no agenda there then. People lost faith over 2 or 3 seasons. That there, right there, is fucking big lie. Wibble indeed.
  19. Don't know which is saddest, the fact you are saying that or the fact you actually believe it. Rafa has left the mess???? GTF. "he saw fit to replace better players with shite ones"...... he saw fit did he? so he sold Alonso - on the promise incidentally that he would get that money to spend. Go back to the press conference when we signed Johnson "we have the funds to buy another player" that was before Alonso went. Alonso goes for £30m (tripled the value of a player you had never heard of) and the owners then tell him..... you can replace him and we know Madrid have paid up front but a) you have to find somebody paid for on the drip and b) if you can get somebody from a team who owes us money that would be great, help cash-flow you see.... so who in the whole of World football could we buy? go on, name one player we could have bought who would have come here.....go on, one. "Everton have a squad almost as strong as us"...... do they? Ok, so which of their players would you take over ours? Arteta maybe. The real embarrassing thing is that they will sell Pienaar with a year on his contract for £12m whilst we'll sell Benayoun with 3 years left for £6m.... that is one area where Everton are streets ahead of Liverpool. If Everton had had Arbeloa they'd have got £12m out of Madrid not £2m. "Rafa has left a mess behind".... he has but its not his mess. And some of our "fans" think Roy Hodgson, Mark Hughes, SGE or Dalglish will clear it up. Give me one fucking reason why any of those people will be able to see Mascherano leave, Torres leave, and with £12m to replace them.... (on the drip... and if we could get a replacement from Moscow it would help cash-flow as they've not paid for Voronin yet)..... and take us back to a title challenge. One reason. Sacking Rafa was laughably bad, one of the stupidest fucked up things this club has done. Beaten only by Moores & Parry selling to those two. We paid £6m for our Manager to go to the European Champions. WE PAID. WE PAID. Read it again, WE PAID to give our Manager to the European Champions.... and people come on here saying Benitez deserved to go. Are you Christian Purslow? This Summer.... We will have paid another team to take our Manager, who has us in a position where we think we have a God given right to not only be in the Champions League, but win the bloody thing too; We will lose our best players to pay down somebody else's debt; We'll appoint a replacement who will be so bewildered that Liverpool FC are even considering them for the job they'll bite our hands off; We'll pay 7% more for having the pleasure of meeting somebody else's costs; We'll be able to attract players of the calibre of Kevin Davies to replace Fernando Torres - and have the ignomony of being pleased he doesn't celebrate scoring against us for fucking Chelsea; We'll still be reading posts from retards who think its all the Manager's fault; We'll have the Winter to look forward too when the same retards post on here that Dalglish/Hodgson/Hughes is a bastard for replacing Torres with Davies and what a dickhead he is, get him sacked now, he deserves to go; We'll see us get humiliated in our opening game v Arsenal; And knowing all that, some people gather up the energy to type away that Rafa has left us in a mess :wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt: Rant over
  20. Questions questions..... are you saying anything below 4th then is unacceptable?? If no, then stop wittering. If yes....... 1) Would you have sacked Paisley when he finished 5th? 2) Would you have sacked Shankly when Watford knocked us out of the cup or when he refused to speak to players because they were injured? 3) Do you think it weird that United didn't sack SAF earlier this year when they got knocked out of the FA Cup at home by a team two leagues below them? 4) If Hodgson (or whoever) is appointed and we go out of the cup early and finish lower than 4th, are you going to go on a personal tirade against the Manager and demand his sacking? 5) Do you think in your lifetime you will see this club of ours..... in 2 Champions League Finals (one being possibly the greatest night ever), winning away at Real Madrid, Barcelona & Inter, scoring 4 at home v Madrid, winning away at Old Trafford ever again and scoring 4, beating Chelsea, even giving Chelsea, United & Arsenal a game, taking the Champions League for granted, having a centre forward so good you can't believe it, having players good enough to earn transfer fees to clear debts bigger than your head can comprehend, have more players at the World Cup than any other English Club..... I could go on. All achievements under Rafa in his 6 years here...... 6 years......not one season? You see, there are many who are happy that Rafa has gone and many who aren't. Personally I think those who are happy really can't see the bigger picture, yes they talk of the owners being the problem and know that problem is still there.......but they also believe, really believe, that we are better off now than we were 2 weeks ago. We aren't. You know we aren't. Everybody knows we aren't. What has sacking Rafa achieved? Its split the fanbase for one thing. But for me, we are in a position where we are looking at Roy Hodgson as our Manager when, and you'll deny it, you would have told me to piss off if I had suggested the same same change last summer. Rafa has gone to the all conquering Inter, what fools for appointing such a terrible Manager. You're sporting a semi on us getting the Manager who paid £7m for Kevin Davies and nearly took Blackburn down on the back of it and.......bought Kevin Davies again. Think on what you are saying today.......it'll come back to haunt you..... Lets bounce and sing-along "Kevin Davies is Liverpool's number 9"
  21. First bold bit.....muhahahahaha..... in your dreams only will that happen Second bold bit....... never?? never????? GTF.
  22. I think the second word in bold shows a wee condradiction.
  23. Well if you ignore the fact that Torres missed a shit load of the season and we had, in fact, David N'gog you have a smidgeon of a point. Do you know what though - the club hasn't fixed the problem.....have they? Honest they haven't. Benitez had a shite year but others at the club had even worse shite years and they are still there, whilst others still had shite years (Torres - injuries; Gerrard - poor form) and they too, won't be there.....except their leaving will allow the real problems to remain in situ. Of course we shouldn't finish 7th but do you now think we'll finish as high as 7th next season?
  24. And to think, some say we are the most knowledgable fans in the game. Pfft.
  25. You think these owners are going to appoint somebody like Dalglish ???? Think about it - Big sales, small buys - we WILL be shite. With Kenny in charge the whole crowd will turn on the owners as there is no way Kenny would get stick for us being rubbish. With anybody else in charge, big proportion of the crowd will blame the Manager and the owners / board get off scot-free. How do I know this? Because we've just watched it happen with Benitez and he was popular. Bring in a less than superstar Manager and they have their scapegoat and a minimum 6 months grace. Collectively, we are idiots and they know it. Hope those who were happy Benitez left are still happy now.
