True, but I wonder how many supermarkets are artificially inflating their prices at the moment too, so said same parents are less likely to be able to afford actual proper food.

    The whole thing stinks.

    Not just supermarkets.

The majority of the earnings for the majority of big businesses have shown increase in gross profit margin.

The inflation caused by money printing etc. is a total myth. Yes, there are supply chain issues, but the reality is that the majority of the price increases are purely price gouging.

I introduced my 13 yo to Predator the other week and apart from the invisibility cloaking effect and typical 80s action movie dialogue  I thought it held up quite well, my boy must have agreed as he enjoyed it.

I watched it again in the last year or so and think it stood up OK even though it does look a little ropey visually. Only major issue I see with it is that they make it clear it's an Alien right at the start, it really should have been left unclear till the point they actually see it.

I think it's the films were the CGI has aged badly that stand out for me. Prime examples of this are films released in the early 1990's were CGI overtook animatronics. A great example of this is Alien 3 (when compared to Alien and Aliens). The CGI is atrocious. I also recall thinking (at the time) that Terminator 2's effects were incredible. They don't look that wonderful now though. Still a great film, but the effects haven't aged well. 4k hasn't helped either.

Terminator and Terminator 2 stand up as they are actually decently plotted and acted.

Most of the current modern action stuff that I have seen is the exact opposite, CGI explosions all over the place, look really fancy but almost exclusively badly acted and with a barely coherent plot that only serves to allow lots of CGI boom booms.

Jane in Sevenoaks (5 live)thinks we have been brainwashed into thinking he is horrendous and every media outlet has it in for "boris '

    Indeed.

Fucking media! Constantly stating things he's actually done.

It comes from some digging Campbell has been doing on his podcast, he does it with Rory Stewert, and is making his buisness dealing looking decidedly shady.

A Conservative MP involved in shady business dealings? That can't be right surely?

  5. Started on Friday 24th of last month with a sore throat, cough and bad head. Spent the Saturday and Sunday with a really bad fever and just alternated between sleeping and lying there absolutely knackered and sweaty. Remainder of the week I just felt generally sore, bad head and then started coughing a lot more. Since the weekend I've felt a bit better in general other than feeling worn out and having coughing fits.

Attempted to go to the farm and do some work today, managed about 10 minutes and pretty much couldn't breathe at all from the exertion.

I've just been looking this up.  The occupied palaces aren't part of the Crown Estates (which is basically a management company for the vast portfolio of land and buildings that we've decided to give to one family that was stolen centuries ago, for some reason); they're run by the taxpayer-funded Royal Households (which includes the costs of shit loads of ceremonial hangers-on and people with ridiculous fairytale job titles). The old, unoccupied ones are run by the Historic Royal Palaces agency and are self-funding.

  7. I still think social distancing should be a thing, virus or not. It's been glorious standing in queues in shops and not dealing with the arseholes who stand behind you so close that they are almost inside you.

  8. Burnham is a dead behind the eyes empty suit.

He gets credit on here for pushing the for the review, but lets not forget, that like everything else in the justice campaign that was the people, not him. He only reacted because he was shamed into it at the memorial. If not for that he'd have done the same as every other politician and done nothing to support it.

Dominic Cummings texts like my mum. And that's not a compliment.

It's fucking dreadful, barely coherent drivel. You can see why he and Johnson used to get on.

    Its fucking odd behaviour…

    For anyone other than Johnson.

I reckon the easiest way these days to predict the future is to expect the exact opposite of anything Johnson says will happen because as sure as night follows day, Johnson makes a statement saying something is the case and without fail the opposite happens.

Probably bollocks but this lad is the best player we've ever had since Nunez. I've never heard of him. Naturally if we don't sign him then we are shit.

I was in when it said he's the new Romario.

But googling his name brings up loads of references calling him the new Neymar so he can fuck off the shit cunt.
