Your missing my point. He's a hidden gem... He should be in the Spurs team but he's coming back from injury and can't displace Corluka who is a much worse player. I dont know whether hes available or anything, but to have a player of his quality sitting on the bench at Spurs when we're talking about £15M for Johnson is a point for debate IMO. He cost Spurs £9m. People talk about buying an attacking right back - this guy's one of the best IMO. Is Darby going to get a chance though?

I mentioned this on another psot the other day but didnt get much response. I know most people are sold on the idea of Glen Johnson, and he's a good player, but what about Alan Hutton at half that price? Can't get back into Spurs team at the minute, but IMO he's a genuinely top-class attacking RB. Worth a gamble?

Adam Morrison from West Brom looks a good player, he's been just about their only real positive this season...

I thought Gutierrez looked good at the start of the season and is versatile... He could be a useful squad player, he's prob been dragged down by Newcastle's woeful season and management sagas...

Turner at Hull has had a decent season too...

Evans at manu has done alright for a kid, it's hard for the young players but we are a top team and can't afford to be blooding young players who might be good one day when we need to be winning almost every game. Only special talents will get into our team for more than a 10 minute sub appearance when they are teenagers and we haven't had any of those in recent years.

 

I just hope we buy a ball playing defender if Agger leaves and not another old fashion defender in the same mould as Carra and Skrtel.

Evans is a full international with 16 caps and has played 33 games in the Championship for a league-winning Sunderland... Although he's young, he's not really a "kid" as such IMO

I think we sell Babel(if anyone will take him), buy Cristian Rodriguez/Yury Zhirkov/David Silva/Juan Mata/Andres Guardado/Juan Vargas/Riccardo Montolivo/Ben Arfa etc. for the left.

 

I'd also want Darijo Srna for our right flank if not Kuba... but Srna would cost more as he's quality and has been for years.

 

We don't want to blow our wad on the right flank because Kuyt will ALWAYS have a place there from Rafa.

 

Kuba can come cheapish and be a VERY good option against packed defenses... and offer a late pace threat.

 

That is what I would do if I were looking to make transfer purchases for us.

It's more or less over, yes. If they win these two home games, it's 99% gone. However, if we win all 5 games you never know, funny things happen. Priorty now is to ensure we finish second (which is in our hands) and see if that means we finish first.

A Pompey win would be handy... I can't get excited until tis in our hands. The Macheda goal v Villa could prove to be the most important moment in the race IMO. 10 minutes to go in that game and i thought it could happen... Now, im not so sure...
