I am still thinking about the fantastic shit I had earlier today. It was a 15 minute long festival of expulsion.

Playing Tetris on my phone whilst dumping. Can't beat it.

If you think about it, taking a dump is basically nature's game of tetris.

People like to talk about how technology is changing the world, but I rarely hear anyone mention one of the most profound changes in my life since mobile devices got fast internet connections. While previously a good shit would be a time of quiet contemplation or perhaps some light reading, nowadays no sooner have my pants hit my ankles, then my phone is in my hand.

So this thread is for any ruminations you may wish to share while on the shitter. I think it will be a quiet place, a place for philosophy and relaxation and the uninhibited release of ideas.

(Or it could be mostly porn.)

Had some time so went to volunteer with Occupy Sandy Relief today. They sent me to Far Rockaway which is a strange mix of low income housing projects and comfortable beach villas all built on a completely flat strip of sand southeast of Brooklyn.

I was shocked at how dire things were, 12 days after the hurricane. No subways running in or out, no power for the next 2-3 months, no heat. Its getting colder and while the wealthier portion of the peninsula (which suffered the most from flooding & fires) has a large FEMA and national guard presence, the tall public housing projects seem totally abandoned by all relief organizations other than Occupy.

There are 20 story buildings, giant cement behemoths, pitch dark inside, with no running water and hallways full of excrement. Old or disabled people are trapped in their rooms, running out of supplies and prescription meds, unable to make it down. Aparently its very dangerous after sunset due to the lack of police presence and light.

And barely anything in the media as the situation gets worse every day. As far as theyre concerned, Sandy is over and dealt with.

Just got a text:

I am, which is why I seem like such a fool with those pics. Its all relative, isnt it, and this place is just swamped with insecure insufferable but utterly gorgeous women.

Speaking from experience here. When I was younger I passed up the chance for a relationship with at least a couple of girls that would fall into a similar category. The problem wasn't with them - it was my insecurity at being seen out with someone that wouldn't look good on my arm, I could show off etc.

 

As I've got older I honestly regret not getting over myself and dating a couple of them. I really missed out on being with some great girls for the sake of being with some hotter but dull or psycho wenches.
